Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

it's certainly been a good (dcb?) bounce this morning, but assuming it doesn't all run out of steam beforehand, i suspect 200 dma will prove a fairly stern hurdle

avsec - 18 Oct 2010 11:05 - 5004 of 6492

I seem to be completely out of synch with this for some reason....sold half on Friday and missed this mornings activity. Hurting a bit..

gibby - 18 Oct 2010 11:09 - 5005 of 6492

rf - good man

avsec - sorry to hear that - that sounds real unlucky

Check out AFC....(fuel cells)....just keeps going...massive, huge potential....

Decided to stay with my reduced holding now and hope that RKH will slowly recover from the effect of Rachel disappointment. Maybe the side drilling will find something but it remains a big gamble IMO...

cynic - 18 Oct 2010 11:44 - 5008 of 6492

posted to that effect on RKH just now

cynic - 18 Oct 2010 11:44 - 5009 of 6492

DES looking very perky this morning .... shorters closing out or optimism on back of RKH placement success and statements?

chav - 19 Oct 2010 09:42 - 5010 of 6492

Think I will do the same when the DES share price soars on drilling results from the sidetrack!!

Paddy was waiting at the bus stop with his mate when a lorry went by, loaded up with rolls of turf.

Paddy said: "I'm gonna do that when I win da lottery".

"What's dat", says his mate.

"Send me lawn away to be cut".

markymar - 19 Oct 2010 09:49 - 5011 of 6492

Well chav i would of thought they might be getting some kind of indication on that rig if this side track is going well or not, time to watch for large trades.

50/50 chance on side track

Slaley Hall beckons.......

Better start polishing the Golf sticks marky!...I'll stick with kicking a Tin Can, until I can afford a ball.

cynic - 19 Oct 2010 10:32 - 5014 of 6492

note - sp hit 200 dma again and failed

Proselenes - 19 Oct 2010 10:46 - 5015 of 6492

Sidetrack will be an angled drill, not going to be progressing at the same rate of penetration as a vertical well.

At a guess I would say rumours circulating from about 28th October onwards ?

markymar - 20 Oct 2010 08:39 - 5016 of 6492

Chav, keep an eye on pugwash and that blue whale if still stored or having a spring clean.shutters up for the next couple of weeks so off down mine where totaly dark.

avsec - 20 Oct 2010 09:33 - 5017 of 6492

Marky - you are a fashion follower! Chileans do it and Marky is there too! Don't expect the same euphoric coverage when you are rescued

cynic - 20 Oct 2010 09:51 - 5018 of 6492

MRSI and/or PTH may comment otherwise, but it looks as though sp once more pierced 200 dma but fell back below yet again ...... imo, DES remains a very risky play except perhaps as a quick trade

cynic - 20 Oct 2010 09:51 - 5019 of 6492

.

chav - 20 Oct 2010 10:46 - 5020 of 6492

Marky...certainly trying to keep an eye out on the Blue Whale...been blowing a gale all week which won't be helping matters.
