And after speaking to him l am not at all surprised . He is like a "Who s Who " of the hydrocarbon world ...He has ALL the prerequisites for success so why work for some other lackey ! .. namely connections from his ertwhistle employers . He has assembled a first class management team from ex colleauges at BP ; and is his business model is simple . AFR farms in on "Big Oils " inception upstream ; and with its scale of economy it works closely with "Big oils" fields on the look out for excellent workovers oppertunities .... Already lt has via a complicated j/v a percentage of the Sao Tome and Principe acreage -Located between the oil rich waters of Nigeria and those of Sao Tome and operated by Texaco / Chevron and Esso; and believed by many to be the new North sea . . 3D Seismic testing and magnetic graphic imagery and satellite imaging has located a labyrinth of channels leading to a main resavoir which is believed to14-15 mmbbls of oil and which would leave AFR with its share of 120/140 million barrels for NO cash outlay .To ensure early cash generation Afren has entered into a production sharing agreement in the developed Ogedeh field { adjacent to the BP operated Olowi marin field which is believed to yield 180 mmbbloe. this is NOT one of the stocks where I have taken profits ...... i am surprised that there seems to be no press coverage, even though AFR is pretty squitty ..... perhaps w/e press will mention

Cynic long term hold this one for the really big profits when they hit 2.00 Tuck away in the draw and come back next year.

I reckon that there is going to be a lot of good money to be made in an oil recovery, and perhaps over the horizon the sight of an end to the economic debacle with a little less doom and gloom, so perhaps us little guys here might be able to advantage of this, here's hoping !.

Some profit taking here, well they can't have been with Barclays because their website is becoming a pain, there's never a time when there isn't a problem with something, it is getting on my nerves, every day something goes wrong, or are they doing this deliberately ?, anyway I still think that this should climb further !.

results on tuesday--monday should be interesting if they are as good as expected! ebok news was very good so they are hardly going to follow it with bad results!!! this is a very long term hold for me---I'm sorry I sold my TLW and HOIL far too early so I won't make the same mistake here.

M+ .... no reason why you cannot buy back into TLW or HOIL and trade them thereafter

Am also geared up for decent results this week, plus increasing market interest following the usual round of presentations.

Suspect the SP climb up may well be slow and steady as the MM's maximise their commissions/trades, but who cares as this gives plenty of opportunities to jump ship, and then board a few days later.

This should carry on rising, some profit taking before the weekend, but the rest of the market might just stabilize for a bit !.

oil barrel presentation wed alongside my other hopeful gkp*--exciting week in prospect! cynic I'm an old fashioned buy and hold verysmall investor so take profits as I can, hence selling hoil and tlw. After reading of your success on the ftse thread I tried my luck with fin spreads but very quickly lost my pot and found it nerve wracking!! I'd have to pay for a naked trader course or something before I'd try that again but I envy all the successful traders I read about making shed loads!

they were out last friday

No the annual results are out today,fridays was for the Ebox field. Anytime today

i don't care for delayed figures, but let's hope the results just come out late today and with good news ..... with the CEO's comments on friday, it will be more than a kick in the teeth iof the numbers now disappoint
