ASOS: BUY AT LOW PRICE!!!! (ASC)

wilco99 - 12 Sep 2003 15:52

ASOS have dropped quite significantly in the past week for no particular reason and I view this as the perfect opportunity to invest as I can see them bouncing right back up to the 5.50p mark in the next 2-3 weeks. STRONG BUY!!

not that it matters but am just a little surprised that the FTSE over the past 4 years has actually outperformed ASC (albeit by a whisker)

cynic - 19 Dec 2018 16:07 - 5862 of 5941

i don't know what chart you looked at, but until the last few days (today even) , ASC was miles ahead of FTSE

can someone explain the info below

16:35:09 2281.0000 225,261 UT 2281.0000 2286.0000 Sell 1,020,734 1,099,676

robinhood - 19 Dec 2018 16:54 - 5864 of 5941

Cynic -I only emphasized dire performance over past week-which are in line with your graph

tomasz - 19 Dec 2018 17:06 - 5865 of 5941

225261.. closing uncrossed trade, volume too big to get the last automated trade price, sell side trader improved closing price and will definitely get bonus for that. Tomorrow important day

cynic - 19 Dec 2018 17:15 - 5866 of 5941

i will hold my hand up and say i bought a small number at 2340, so i too am hoping for some sort of bounce, but shall not allow myself to be greedy

meanwhile, DOW is still looking strong, and if the fed does not put a spanner in the works later this evening, then tomorrow might be quite jolly for a change

robinhood - 19 Dec 2018 17:19 - 5867 of 5941

ftse virtually unchanged in this 4 year period whilst asos down by about 8 % or so during same period

cynic - 19 Dec 2018 17:22 - 5868 of 5941

i've rechecked ....... FTSE is now virtually back to where it was this time 4 years ago
what a grim thought

robinhood - 19 Dec 2018 17:31 - 5869 of 5941

As I said it really does not matter but in my book:
FTSE 19/12/14: 6750
FTSE 19/12/18: 6765

ASC 19/12/14: 2560
ASC 19/12/18: 2281

WOODIE - 19 Dec 2018 17:41 - 5870 of 5941

tomasz thanks for the info

robinhood - 19 Dec 2018 17:50 - 5871 of 5941

did same comparison with asos vs boo- now that is an eye opener!!

R88AVE - 20 Dec 2018 08:13 - 5872 of 5941

Yep... looks like feds put the spanner’s into the market. In a hindsight I guess the whole stock market probably needed a reality check....but my view is recession is not coming, just long overdue market correction.

WOODIE - 20 Dec 2018 08:28 - 5873 of 5941

the sp is holding up well this morning at the time of writing.
retail sales out later should be grim reading.

cynic - 20 Dec 2018 08:51 - 5874 of 5941

what was your conclusion robin?

robinhood - 20 Dec 2018 09:05 - 5875 of 5941

Cynic it was just an observation as everyone (incl me) hailed ASOS as the "darling"of the market whilst BOO seem to have fared a lot better

cynic - 20 Dec 2018 09:16 - 5876 of 5941

ASC is relatively mature while BOO is still growing and with its own branding

tomasz - 20 Dec 2018 10:10 - 5877 of 5941

Geeez asc for 22... if i only knew.. i would start loading the whole truck now... the one of the most expensive stocks selling at PE 22...this is the time for mature long term investing..

robinhood - 20 Dec 2018 14:07 - 5878 of 5941

very tempting to jump "on board" at current lvl but will resist urge and will wait for next "ferry" to come along and hopefully will feel a bit more comfortable then.

cynic - 20 Dec 2018 14:10 - 5879 of 5941

you know you've hit the bottom when you break your neck :-)

tomasz - 20 Dec 2018 22:15 - 5880 of 5941

true begins in a lie...dumping at breaking neck speed, second in a row big volume close but no improvement this time.. suggest someone is hunting here. Friday tomorrow and I need to see this thing getting back to min 2295-2300 by close to make any further sense of it
