Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Jerusalem Post today

The UK would not support an Israeli strike on Iran, British Prime Minister David Cameron said in an interview with NBC published Thursday

"I don't think as we stand today that military action by Israel would be justified." Cameron said. "I don't think the Israelis should take that action now, we've told them they shouldn't, and we've said that we wouldn't support it if they did."

Gausie - 16 Mar 2012 12:23 - 5922 of 6906

Davey wouldn't approve? That's bound to stop em .......

Haystack - 16 Mar 2012 12:35 - 5923 of 6906

Only three countries in the world have refused to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. They are India, Israel, and Pakistan.

There was deal 1969 between President Nixon and Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir. The United States would not pressure Israel to join the treaty, which would require Israel to give up its nuclear weapons. Israel, in turn, does not admit it has the weapons.

Maybe Israel should offer to give up their nuclear weapons in exchange for Iran not building any. There could be monitoring to make sure neither country develops more weapons.

There is no reason for Iran not to have nuclear weapons while Israel does.

Gausie - 16 Mar 2012 12:42 - 5924 of 6906

And a non-nuclear Iran would feel threatened by Israel? Why's that then?

Haystack - 16 Mar 2012 13:35 - 5925 of 6906

Is feeling threatened by another country an excuse for having nuclear weapons? What is Israel's excuse. Plenty of countries feel threatened and don't have them. At what point would Israel use theirs.

Gausie - 16 Mar 2012 14:02 - 5926 of 6906

Probably as soon as they get a decent fix on your address, mate. :-)

Haystack - 16 Mar 2012 14:11 - 5927 of 6906

Israel must have some situation in mind where they would use nuclear weapons. Iran having their own weapons nullifies that situation as there would be nuclear retaliation. From that point of view Iran would want rheir own weapons. If both side have them then there is less chance of either side using them. It is the principal that governed the cold war betwee Russia and the US.

Gausie - 16 Mar 2012 14:29 - 5928 of 6906

Haystack - I sometimes forget that you're only trolling and not really as daft as you pretend to be on this thread :-)

ahoj - 16 Mar 2012 14:59 - 5929 of 6906

Nuclear Iran is just a hype, and propaganda like Iraq. Neither Iran is interested nor it is able to do it.

Iran leader is just stupid like Saddam and Gaddafi and.. nothing else.

Fred1new - 16 Mar 2012 15:23 - 5930 of 6906

Hays,

Difficulty in writing this, but agree with your recent postings and arguments about Iran, or others possessing Nuclear weapons.

Prefer, I think that they shouldn't be held by any country, but there is a counter ballance argument of "the small against the big", which has some validity.

As far as the argument against trusting in the good natured actions of Israel and Iran, I think them much of a pair.

Israel has routinely committed murder outside its own borders for years and escaped sanctions.

They have broken internation humanity laws, again without much of an outcry.

I am surprised, If it is true, what you reported Cameron as saying.
Unless, it is another of his publicity stunt.

I wouldn't have thought he had the "bottle".

Mind I think and hope USA and UK are suffering battle fatique.

By the way which countries have used Nuclear weapons and depleted Nuclear materials for weponary?

cynic - 16 Mar 2012 15:36 - 5931 of 6906

FRED - let's ignore the rhetoric and polemic ..... you can't "unknowledge", so once the genie is out of the bottle, there is no knowing or predicting where it will end

AHOJ - are you really as naive as you sound from your post? ..... of course iran wants to build nuclear weapons, as did/does china, north korea, pakistan and no doubt a bundle of others

A video for Jerusalem 115 years ago! Interesting Muslims (85%), Christians (10%) and Jews (5%) living in the holy city of Jerusalem, which nearly had 30,000 inhabitants. All of them lived in the Palestinian administrative division of the Ottoman Empire and spoke Arabic!
