THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Of the 100 highest expense claims in 2013/2014, 58 were Labour MPs, 17 Conservative, 15 Liberal Democrats.

An in-out referendum on the EU is on

Cameron reeled off a list of pledges for the next five years and emphatically underlined the commitment that will likely dominate political debate for the next two years:

And yes we will deliver that in-out referendum on our future in Europe.

It won't help. There will be a referendum and Cameron will campaign for a stay in vote and that is how the public will vote.

Haystack - 08 May 2015 14:13 - 59946 of 81564

This is Labour's least seats since the disaster of Michael Foot.

Haystack - 08 May 2015 14:19 - 59947 of 81564

The Conservatives held their seat in Scotland. That's a better rate than Labour who lost 40.

ExecLine - 08 May 2015 14:19 - 59948 of 81564

I think the result of an 'In/Out EU Referendum' would give a majority of 'In'.

But we do need to negotiate some changes.

For one thing, the UK's beaurocrats absolutely overdose on EU regulations but does Spain, Portugal, France, Greece? Ans: NO!

Dil - 08 May 2015 14:49 - 59949 of 81564

Labour lost the Gower their longest held seat to the Conservatives. It's been a Labour seat for the last 100 years !

Conservatives gain St Ives from Lib Dems to finish general election on 331, a parliamentary majority of 12.

unbelievable
considering that no one expected more than 290/295 seats, it's amazing the polls and the calcs, even from ashcroft, were so far adrift

i really do hope that the conservatives do not prove as spiteful in their own way as labour would have done in theirs
however, i don't see how you lop £12bn off the welfare budget in the course of the parliament, but then that of course becomes the annual budget, without serious nastiness

jimmy b - 08 May 2015 15:56 - 59953 of 81564

Fred's still ranting !!

cynic - 08 May 2015 15:57 - 59954 of 81564

The face of politics has changed dramatically, out go the two Ed's, Cleggy, Farage, Vince Cable, Danny Alexander and Ed Davey. The Lib Dems have been decimated.

Hilary
I is quite satisfying that we were both right about the result quite along way back including a majority.
