Definitely, though I suspect the trading update will be positive, so this may just be the slump before the next leg up.

I sold on the jobs announcement - I just wondered why they announced that before the update and not with it.

Beginning to wish I'd reversed rather than just closed.

Very bad news culling jobs

Call me cynical, but it just struck me the job announcement may be to temper the update next week.

Why hlyeo? Usually job cuts mean a more efficient operation and less of a burden on the finances. Many companies have seen their sp's go up on the news of cost cutting.

there is certainly something potentially nasty afoot here ...... sp is plummeting for no obvious reason ..... computer-generated selling? ..... insider knowledge of horrid results to be announced? ..... who knows?

Harry - just my take on it - as I said, call me cynical.

Definitely something odd going on here in the background. Consensus seemed to be that the statement next week was going to be very positive. Market sentiment seems to have swung around again very quickly. Job cuts were not a surprise, that news had been coming for quite a few months and it was a necessary step. I'm sitting here scratching my head to be honest!

I joined it at its inception, initially the BB's were useful and well balanced.

I joined here around inception in 2002, as the writing was already appearing on the proverbial wall.

There are still some balanced and informed threads, but it is quite astounding - not to say sad, how many idiots there are lurking - at least there aren't too many on here!
