Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Adegos? Apart from being an anagram for dosage, what does that mean DC?
Calm down Tanker, we know a lot of crap goes on, but no need to blow a fuse. Think of the good things that happen also. Like it was nice and sunny today and should be the same tomorrow. Relax and enjoy it pal. We are all a long time dead.

also, he doesn't like the idea of having to do something himself but would much rather blather and rant and complain that others do nothing

The problem is, that Tanker isn't exactly actually posting claptrap. It's true. But not in the volume of incidents, that he seems to imply. Surely not!
I think we would all like to see the local Imams spouting out strong criticism of atrocities. Problem is, that if they do, they are putting themselves right into the front of a prioritised firing line.
I would like to see the trashing of ALL religions, no matter what faith. However, 'the state' (in whatever country) always needs religion to preach good morality. Thus the state leaders always have to be shown to be supportive of religion (and hence 'good morality').
We still live in a society, where it is seen to be a morally and disgustingly bad thing for a person to declare that he is an atheist.
If a politician declared his atheistic beliefs in the States, then he would stand absolutely no chance of getting elected.
Most people in the UK now sorta kinda believe that the universe is 13.5 billion years old and came from 'Big Bang'. This is thanks to the pretty good scientific stuff on our TV of an evening.
That is NOT the case in the States. 42% have a Creationist View of Human Origins. More than 4 in every 10 Americans continue to believe that God created humans in their present form 10,000 years ago, a view that has changed little over the past three decades.
Half of Americans believe humans evolved, with the majority of these saying God guided the evolutionary process.
However, the percentage who say God was not involved is rising.
So getting rid of people's religious beliefs is extremely difficult. Anyhow, the end to 'religion' and its silly mysticisms will come.
eg. Life begins when you die. (but only if you belong to OUR religion)
Come on! Wise up people! Get real! Once your brain dies, that's it! Poof! You're dead and gone!
So the best thing 'the state' (ie. any government of any country) can do is to start inventing a new set of the Rules of Life and Living.
eg.
Rule 1. Do unto others as you would be done by.
Here's 50 more of them:
LIFE'S 50 GOLDEN RULES
Manners cost nothing
Treat others how you wish you be treated
Family comes first
Two wrongs don't make a right
Treasure friendship
Save some for a rainy day
Don't judge a book by its cover
Actions speak louder than words
As one door closes, another door opens
Laugh as often and as much as possible
All that glitters is not gold
Stay honest and keep your integrity
Keep an open mind
Never be afraid to make mistakes
You don't know what you've got until it's gone
Look after the pennies, the pounds will look after themselves
Only worry about things you can control
It's what's on the inside that counts
Never be afraid to shed a tear
Always have a smile on your face
Out of debt, out of danger
Don't speak with your mouth full
Listen before you speak
Try and see the good in everybody
The best things in life are free
Practice makes perfect
There is a light at the end of every tunnel
Make time for your favourite things
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
It's not what you know, it's who you know
Love unconditionally
Seize the day
You have to be cruel to be kind
If you don't believe in yourself, how can you expect others to
Forgive others so that you may be forgiven.
Always go with your gut instinct
Live everyday like it's your last
Be somebody's reason to smile
Don't burn your bridges
Time is a great healer
You only regret what you didn't do
Never let your fears get in the way
Don't count the days, make the days count
Strive for the best
Put your best foot forward
A picture paints a thousand words
The early bird catches the worm
Keep your head up and your heart strong
Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back
TOP REGRETS FOR OVER 60'S
I spent too long worrying about silly things
I married the wrong person
I didn't travel enough
I should've tried harder at my education
I wish I saved more money for my retirement
I wish I stayed in touch with old friends
I didn't make enough time for the people I loved
I didn't save any money
I wish I had let myself be happier
I worked too much
I wish I have the courage to speak my mind
I didn't achieve my dream in life
I was in the wrong job for too long
I let my true love get away
I spent too long being angry at others
I struggled to forgive people
I spent too much money
I didn't make enough time for myself
I wish I got on better with my parents/siblings
I wish I could afford to retire earlier.

Whilst TANKER may be OTT with his rantings and some of his solutions, there is a great deal of truth in much of what he says. We all need to be more aware of what is actually happening to our country. There will come a time when the indigenous UK population will become the minority, will we/they be afforded the same consideration as we now afford them. I very much doubt it.

Exec,
I was going to ask, what is it all about?
But then thought that it doesn't matter.
But then, perhaps, that is the excuse for the varieties of religions (beliefs, ideologies, goals, etc.).
A substitution for nothing.

Castro dies. A crook, a violent dictator with no redeeming features.
Jeremy Corbyn has praised Fidel Castro’s “heroism” and the changes he implemented in Cuba as his death was announced on Saturday.
Ken Livingstone, the former London mayor, praised Castro’s Cuba as a “beacon of light” in the region with better health care and education than other nearby countries.
In a defence of the communist revolutionary's leadership, Mr Livingstone blamed American aggression towards Castro for some of the problems seen in Cuba.
He also said anyone looking to live in Latin America during the Cold War would have picked Castro’s Cuba because of the quality of life.
The defence by Mr Livinsgtone, the left-wing former Labour politicians, contrasts with criticism from human rights groups over Castro’s authoritarian rule.
Critics have claimed he oversaw an oppressive regime which clamped down on freedom of speech and purged political rivals after taking power in the 1959 revolution.
