Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Perhaps you outsiders need to expand your minds/brains a bit more in general and concentrate on the important things in life...if thats possible.

More likely thinking of the dishonourable lady, the member for Peterborough. Look up her selection process and see how Liebour treasures the democratic process.

JC was just an idiot and only said what many believe but having lied about saying it makes him a laughing stock in the House.
Far to much being made of him uttering those words - he should have just admitted it and stood up like a man and said he was sorry for saying it in the House but being PC has gone to far.
CNC - Brown would have called you a Bigot I expect.

Fred's post 11004
You wrongly assume that I have not been involved in heavy industry, or strikes or visited such areas. As a young working man I worked bl--dy hard, sometimes taking on additional evening and weekend part-time work to make ends meet. The heavy industry (skilled) job I had often left me with some week left after the money ran out.
I didn't need to have guts to visit or ask those residents, I was one.

Perhaps you needed a Union to try to improve you Working and Social conditions and rate of pay.

Like much of your guesswork in post 11004 you are again wrong, I was a member of a union. Some union officials were ok but many were out for their own ends--the likes of Jack Dromey spring to mind.

Georgie,
I wouldn't have supposed in "those days" you weren't a member of a union, for any large employer it was almost obligatory for the workforce to be so
I remember being about the levy being taken out of my pay packets and complaining to my father who was "management" about it.
He pointed out to me the "protections and social improvements" the unions had made and the protection and help it might give to me if I had an "accident" etc.. He also pointed out some of the daftness of some of the union representatives.

I wonder if TM will end her reign over the split tory party in the same way as Eden and Macmillan did.

No not the EETPU either, although that morphed into a nasty Unit(e) with Len McCluskey as Gen. Sec.

Merry Christmas and A happy New Year everyone, whether a Leaver or Remainer, Tory or Labour, Cardiff or Burnley, let's look forward to a healthy 2019 for us all.
Oh and
This time next year will be our first Managed No Deal Brexit Christmas and the Remoaners will wonder why they kicked up such a fuss, the scare stories will be seen to be just that, stories. Harmony will reign, perhaps with 1 or 2 exceptions.

Oh and
This time next year will be our usual European Christmas and the leaves will wonder why they kicked up such a fuss, the scare stories will be seen to be just that, stories. Harmony will reign, perhaps with 1 or 2 exceptions.

I think you meant kicked up the leaves Stanley. Happy Christmas to all, including you and your hero Freddy, let's hope the psycho in the White House does something positive in the New Year, like resigning, and the markets turn around.
