World cup 2010, What chances for the Home sides and Ireland !. (2010)

required field - 12 Oct 2008 18:43

Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

Perhaps Spurs ought to sign a few forwards....oh ! I forgot they have just sold two ! damn it !.

man u and chelsea looking ominous again......fully expect arsenal and liverpool to fight it out for third yeat again...who said the premiership was predicatble?

Joe Say - 04 Nov 2008 07:49 - 143 of 1154

How about you list the Top 6 in order, and the bottom 3 ?

and let us see your Mystic Meg rating

Celtic and Rangers looking ominous again......fully expect some raggy arse rovers to fight it out for third yet again...who said the Scottish Premiership was predictable?

Joe Say - 04 Nov 2008 08:07 - 145 of 1154

Try tennis, golf, Formula 1, Rugby Union, Rugby League, or Cricket if you want a non-predicatable sport !!!

Chelsea losing does not bode well for a sucess in the Champions league final....if I'm not mistaken most winners do not lose a single game !.

Treblewide - 05 Nov 2008 10:18 - 147 of 1154

top 6

Chelsea
Man U
Liverpool
Arsenal
Aston Villa
Man City

Bottom 3

Stoke
Wigan
Fulham

Treblewide - 05 Nov 2008 10:21 - 148 of 1154

tabby...rangers or celtic will always win the scottish league, i never debated that......as will Man U or Chelsea win the premiership (although you can replace Chelsea maybe in a few years depending on the whim of a particular billionaire)

I would prefer to see a draft system similar to that of the NFL being brought in..........football should not just be about who has the most money...it is all too predicatble....

required field - 05 Nov 2008 10:25 - 149 of 1154

Fulham might produce a miracle like last time and stay up....would not bet against them !.

If there was a medal for the nicest manager in Britain Roy Hodgson would win it unchallengedhis record outside Britain is excellent taking the Swiss national team to World Cup and Eurothe first time they had ever qualified for a major tournamenthe has been successful with many European teams and is 100% thorough in preparationyet to achieve that success in Britainbut a man I greatly respect.

Well 3 uefa wins for Spurs, City and the V(an)illa.....saw a little bit of the latter game....they won but looked tired and jaded.....big difference between uefa matches and champions league games.....wish they would stop changing the blinkin' formats of these competitions !, I preferred it when the cup winners cup was in place.....they could have a super cup at the end of August with the 2 Champions league finalists and the winners of the cup winners and uefa competitions.....anyway, does not matter now, will not happen !, and the formats will change again !..

Joe Say - 07 Nov 2008 18:20 - 152 of 1154

Note 16,000 at Spurs despite free entry to S/T holders - top 4 my ****

Looks like there will be a battle all the way to the wire for the premiership (Arsenal-ManU, Chelsea, Liverpool)....if Spurs make it to the uefa cup next year by climbing up the table it will be a miracle recovery !.

Joe Say - 09 Nov 2008 09:53 - 154 of 1154

There's a fair chance of that given that the only competition would appear to be Villa (and potentially Everton).

Top 4 appear to be opening a gap up already - the way this is trending suggests that the 4 fighting for the CL spots will be confirmed before they've played an FA Cup game.

The rest seem to be on a roller-coaster ride. Hull's descent has already started imo.

England are away to Germany soon....difficult......we need some good defending for that game !.

What no Beckham ?......perhaps we will not be having the boring "bang the ball into the penalty area" anymore....but some improvisation and little flick ons with back heelers for a change, !, where has total football got to ?,.....the older generation will remember fondly the Ajax and Dutch players switching positions in full flow !, (by the way do not want to sound too romantic) but that Ajax side of the early seventies in my opinion is the greatest footballing side ever !, even surpassing Brazil 1970 because they lasted longer 69-73 and were better in defence !.

Well !, we won but the germans looked poor but an away win against them is not easy so well done chaps !, talking about maradona (who was a tremendous player), : he has a cheek really !.....in 1966 it was a split second decision by the ref...ball across the line or not ...difficult to judge....in 1986 : it was plain cheating....nothing less....with a daft ref or worse.....maradona would never, never, never have got a second goal unless that first one had been awarded...the England lads had him covered until that moment.....maradona being maradona : we will always have remarks like that !.

Treblewide - 20 Nov 2008 10:29 - 159 of 1154

maradonna is a hero in scotland
