Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Anybody who would vote for another Labour government would have to be insane.
Blair and the rest of his gang should be charged with treason , for what they have done to this country.

Seems like the BNP have a likely candidate.
Nigel or Dave will miss him.
Wonder why Cameron is ducking a judge led enquiry into the LIBOR and the City. Seems as if they don't want a few things exposed, just like the Leveson enquiry and the snuggling up of the tories with Rebecca and Murdoch.
Seems that Labour are prepared to have any mistakes aired in public.
What are the tories trying to hide from.
This is a diversion from the failing economic policies and their split of the tories over Europe.
There is a need of a deodorant in No 11, or preferably a clean out.

"After a subdued PMQs, the politics of the Libor scandal has just been ratcheted up another notch. In an interview with The Spectator for this week's issue, George Osborne has said that those around Gordon Brown ‘were clearly involved’ in the discussion about how to keep Libor down during the 2008 financial crisis.
In the interview, George Osborne gives short shrift to Barclays’s accusation that the Bank of England urged it to get its Libor down. Osborne stresses that this change has been ‘specifically addressed, not just by our own investigators at the Financial Services Authority but also in the US Department of Justice and they are not people who will pull their punches and they’re very clear that the Bank did not issue instructions to Barclays to cut its LIBOR rate.’
But his tone is very different when it comes to the last government. He says, ‘As for the role of the Labour government and the people around Gordon Brown, well I think there are questions to be asked of them’. Discussing the 2008 paper on getting Libor down that was circulated in Whitehall and the note that Bob Diamond wrote referencing senior Whitehall sources after his conversation with Paul Tucker, he declares that ‘They were clearly involved and we just haven’t heard the full facts, I don’t think, of who knew what when.’
Osborne is also keen to keep the pressure up on Ed Balls. He tells The Spectator ‘my opposite number, who was the City Minister for part of this period and Gordon Brown’s right hand man for all of it so he has questions to answer as well.’
This intervention by Osborne will increase the political tensions around the Libor scandal. Expect Ed Balls, who vigorously denies that he has ever had anything to do with Libor, to respond forcefully.
The rest of the interview covering Osborne's views on Europe and the economy will be out in The Spectator tomorrow."

The enquiry by MPs on the Treasury Committee showed why it is necessary to have a Judicial enquiry.
The quality of the questioning in to-days committee was well below that which would be acceptable in by barristers or judges.
I think many of the participants were more motivated by party allegiance than getting to the bottom of any corruption which may or not be systemic in the "City".
The financial institution may be thinking of moving out of London.

F1N, have a better day than what? A better day than you say?
Every day is a great day for me it doesn't need to get even a tiny bit better, but I can see why you would say such a thing, so much baggage in that tortured mind that thinks calling someone Aids is somehow an insult. No need for me to read past posts, nothing deserves that response. You have my sympathy. Try and improve tomorrow, one day at a time is best.

Chuckles.
Every day is a great day for me it doesn't need to get even a tiny bit better,
How do manage to be so elated?
Hope it is not down to magic mushrooms or equivalent.
Again, I refer you back to the history and measure my remarks against contents of previous relevant postings.
If you come to conclusions based on less than all the facts then I can understand your present state of elation.

Just be looking at the debate in the HP.
Some of us are paying for this standard of government.
What has the government to lose by having a barrister led enquiry?
What are they trying to cover up?
To outside observers in this country and other countries, the question being asked is what the present tory government is covering up.
It seems to me more like an abuse of administrative authority and similar to actions carried out by administrations of a banana states.
The city is already beginning to look shaky and this "show" is not going to reassure future "dealings" in the city.
This government may lose the name of the U-Turn government and be known as "Cover Up Government" or "Government of Disasters".
Appalling!

The debate looks good and the government should win the debate easily. Labour want a judical enquiry into the whole banking industry. They are just playing politics and can be safely ignored. Ed Balls is talking his usual nonsense and can also be ignored.
