A couple of posts by a very astute investor who i believe writes for Proactive,
which gives an insight to whats going on and the potential value?
"Uramin (UMN) was a uranium explorer, with its principal asset being the Trekkopje deposit in Namibia. The measured & indicated U resource for Trekkopje prior to the sale was 110Mlbs at an average grade of 149ppm "
...which Dattels & co sold to Areva for US$2.5bn in 2007. Now how did that compare with Extract's maiden resource statements*....? :0)))
Mark
I notice in the table in the header you say about EML "thought to be controlled by Stephen Dattels".
Here's a bit more detail on that point/issue (which some may not be aware of):
Firstly, SD is closely associated with James Mellon & Ian Stalker. All were on the Board of Uramin (Stalker was CEO). SD and JM are co-chairmen of HK listed Regent Pacific; Stalker is a non-exec of that company. Funnily enough SD & JM are also co-chairmen of EML. ;0)
Per my research, Zorbas of NWT (major shareholder in NWT, which owns ~30% of URU) also backs Dattels, so when I refer to "Dattels & co", I'm referring to Dattels, Mellon, Zorbas & "B" ("B" is not Stephen Bywater). I exclude Stalker from that list because he is a miner rather a "money man" and I doubt is heavily involved in the corporate shenanigans. Whilst Stalker is not exactly poor following the success of Uramin, the others are in a different league. Dattels is a wealthy lawyer (owning his own investment bank in Canada, Regent Mercantile Bancorp) with an extensive mining background. IMV he is the "hatchet man", knows every trick in the corporate book and has probably invented a few himself. :0)
Mellon (a property magnate) is probably 10x wealthier than Dattels but I have never observed him take an active part - I believe he is representing EML at the Master Investor Show so anyone that's interested may be able to meet him there. I also see that Mark Slater (Jim's son) is presenting there. As his company, Galahad Gold, were big investors in Uramin, I would not be surprised to see another of his companies on the shareholder register of one or more of URU, EML, KAH or EXT - if they're not there already.
Looking at EML's shareholders (aside from the co-chairs): http://www.emergingmetals.com/Investors/StockInformation.html , we can see that Mellon owns 8.5% via Galloway Ltd; Dattels 6.0%... and I see that "B" has come into the open: it's the Beck family (Mike Beck, specifically, I understand), with 8% via Angstrom. I think it's pretty safe to say that EML is controlled by Dattels & co!
Moreover, whilst there's nothing obvious on the shareholder list, I'm pretty sure that Dattels & Mellon have a chunk of URU too - as a result of the dividend in specie when Uramin was sold & URU spun out of it. Mellon used to be chairman of URU, of course.
Something for the weekend, sir? ;0)
Cheers,
Mark

("EML", "Emerging Metals" or "the Company")
Increase of significant interest in Kalahari Minerals Plc
The Directors of Emerging Metals Limited (AIM: EML), the mining company focused
on minor and emerging metals, are pleased to announce that they have increased
their interest in Kalahari Minerals Plc ("Kalahari Minerals") to 15,820,000
ordinary shares being 8.84% of the issued share capital of Kalahari Minerals by
way of the on-market purchases of 2,475,000 ordinary shares at an average price
of 78.17 pence per share.
The Directors of Emerging Metals continue to believe that the acquisition of a
significant stake in Kalahari Minerals provides the Company with exposure to a
world class uranium deposit in Namibia and a further diversification of its
exposure to the class of minor and emerging metals. Namibia is already a well
established uranium producer with a reputation for a positive approach to the
development of mining projects.

Looking very tempting,a M/Cap of 21.1m against holding assets from KAH
and EXT of 32.25m. The core of the business is rare metals used in the Solar panel construction, which is very topical at this moment in time.
This is seriously undervalued, the only risk seems to be EXT collapsing which doesn't look likely?

For immediate release: Friday 19 February 2010
Emerging Metals Limited
("EML", "Emerging Metals" or "the Company")
Statement re: Announcement by Extract Resources
The Directors of Emerging Metals Limited (AIM: EML), the mining company focused
on minor and emerging metals, would like to draw shareholders' attention to an
announcement issued yesterday by Extract Resources Limited ("Extract"), in
which Emerging Metals holds an interest through its 8.53 per cent interest in
AIM-listed Kalahari Minerals Plc ("Kalahari"), Kalahari having a 40.44 per cent
interest in Extract through its subsidiary its Kalahari Uranium Limited. In
this context, Emerging Metals also notes Kalahari's statement of 18 February
2010 also referring to Extract's announcement.
In Extract's statement of 18 February 2010, it announced further "outstanding
chemical assay results" from the Rossing South mineralised system, which is
part of Extract's Husab Uranium project. An abridged version of Extract's
announcement is set out below.
The Directors of Emerging Metals commented:
"EML shareholders will be pleased to see the announcements made yesterday by
Extract and Kalahari. The recent drill results by Extract indicate the
extraordinary potential of Rossing South. There is potential for the deposit to
support a major project which will be strategically important to future
customers vying for the long term supply of U308 as the significant build out
of uranium reactors plays out over the next decade and beyond. Extract is now
deploying 15 drill rigs, and 5 additional rigs focused on exploration targets
outside of the two main zones. The main zones are being intensively drilled.
This may result in the upgrade of the resource to `Indicated' status for
inclusion in the feasibility study, as stated in Extract's release. Of
particular note is the number of higher grade intercepts which could enhance
the project's economics. In view of the very positive progress being made by
Extract and the importance of that company to EML through its strategic holding
in Kalahari, the Directors encourage EML shareholders to continue monitoring
information about Extract and Kalahari."
A full copy of the Extract announcement, including illustrations and
appendices, can additionally be viewed on Extract's website
www.extractresources.com.
