For immediate release 11 October 2011

FRONTERA RESOURCES CORPORATION

("Frontera" or the "Company")

Houston, Texas, U.S.A. - 11 October 2011

NEW DISCOVERY INCREASES SIZE OF GAS POTENTIAL AT MTSARE KHEVI FIELD WITHIN SHALLOW FIELDS PRODUCTION UNIT IN GEORGIA

Frontera Resources Corporation (London Stock Exchange, AIM Market: FRR), the oil and gas exploration and production company with assets in the country of Georgia, today announces an update of development drilling operations, including the discovery of extensive new gas resources in the undeveloped northwestern portion of the Mtsare Khevi Field within its Shallow Fields Production Unit, Block 12.

Testing operations are currently underway at the recently announced Mtsare Khevi #32 well that was drilled in the undeveloped northwestern portion of the field, approximately 4 km away from previously drilled well #31. After drilling to a planned depth of 370 meters, log analysis indicated that approximately 33 meters of gas bearing net pay were penetrated among the known Zones I, II and III within the field. Testing has begun on a 14 meter section of the lowest portion of the identified pay zones, Zone I, and delivered a rate of approximately 12,500 cubic meters of gas per day (441 mcf per day) on a 9 mm choke and 19,000 cubic meters (671 mcf per day) on a 16 mm choke. It is estimated that the absolute open flow, AOF, for Zone 1 based on these tests is approximately 24,000 cubic meters per day (847 mcf/d). Over the next week, testing operations will progress up hole to Zones II and III in order to determine total gas deliverability from the well.

Based on results observed to date, Frontera believes that the #32 well has successfully served to expand the size of the Mtsare Khevi field's gas potential by as much as 5 times the previously identified recoverable gas estimates associated with the Company's historical work in the field. Situated less than 10 km from the national gas distribution pipeline grid, the new discovery will serve to accelerate the addition of new infrastructure to commence gas sales. Construction engineering plans are currently under review in order to determine the most efficient timeline for installation.

In other operations within the field, the recently drilled Mtsare Khevi #31 well has been placed on production at an expected rate of approximately 10 bbls of oil per day (b/d) from a 7 meter reservoir section. The well penetrated approximately 22 meters of net pay, including 6 meters of gas bearing reservoir sands.

Drilling operations will now continue at the #41 location which is the third of a planned 20 well program over the next 24 months designed to exploit multiple Upper Pliocene sandstone reservoirs situated at a depth of approximately 300 meters.

The Mtsare Khevi Field, which Frontera operates with 100% interest, is located in the western portion of the Shallow Fields Production Unit. In their July 2010 report for the Company, the independent engineering firm of Netherland, Sewell & Associates ("NSA") places a "Best Estimate" for gross original gas-in-place for the Mtsare Khevi Field of 2.6 billion cubic feet, with a "low"-to-"high" range of 2.1-3.1 billion cubic feet; and a "Best Estimate" for associated gross contingent and unrisked prospective resources of 1.5 billion cubic feet, with "low"-to-"high" range of 1.2-1.9 billion cubic feet. Frontera's new internal estimates reflect additional resource potential along the northwest trend of the field's fault block which the Company believes have now been confirmed by well #32. NSA will be asked to evaluate Frontera's assessments for this area once appraisal drilling has been completed during the current campaign.

For oil, NSA places a "Best Estimate" for gross original oil-in-place for the Mtsare Khevi Field of 14.9 million barrels, with a "low"-to-"high" range of 11.3-19.7 million barrels; and a "Best Estimate" for associated recoverable gross contingent and unrisked prospective oil resources of 2.1 million barrels, with a "low"-to-"high" range of 1.4-3.2 million barrels. This assessment is generally consistent with Frontera's internal estimates.

Steve C. Nicandros, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"The successful results achieved by the #32 well are extremely significant in that they not only serve to expand and enhance the value of the Mtsare Khevi field's gas resources, but also confirm the presence of gas in the western portion of Block 12 which may lead to further upside prospectivity. This confirmation provides important technical support for gas exploration efforts related to other fields situated within the Shallow Fields Production Unit as well as our nearby Shale Gas Play Unit where we believe large gas resources are contained in unconventional reservoirs associated with the Maykop shales.

Overall, the success achieved from recent drilling has significantly enhanced the value of the Mtsare Khevi field and will now set us on a course to accelerate gas sales into the local market where prices range from $4 to $6 per mcf. When these gas sales commence, the increase in production will provide Frontera with the additional cashflow to significantly enhance the profile of the Company and contribute to its target of reaching 5,000b/d by the end of 2013."

Oil & Gas Sector: Frontera Resources up after 'exciting' results from Georgia well
StockMarketWire.com
Oil and gas explorer and producer Frontera Resources (LON:FRR) is excited by results from the Mtsare Khevi field in Georgia.

It says reservoir modeling simulations indicate that zone one at the No.32 well can potentially flow gas at a rate of approximately 57,000 cubic metres per day - more than twice the original estimate.

Operations are now focused on testing a 9.5-metre section associated with zone two where gas has been flow tested at a rate of approximately 2,200 cubic metres of gas per day (79 mcf per day) on a 6 mm choke and 4,900 cubic metres (173 mcf per day) on a 9 mm choke.

Chairman and CEO Steve Nicandros said: "Ongoing testing operations at the No.32 well continue to confirm the importance of our most recent achievement at the Mtsare Khevi field within our greater portfolio of assets.

"Based on analysis of the results observed to date, we are excited by what this well continues to reveal about the ultimate gas potential of the field and the overall surrounding area."

A lot of great info to be had re FRR on lse bb.

The new broker note due mid to ed of Jan (potential re-rating) combined with the operatinoal update on Mirzaani, perhaps farm - in and the Shale gas play will be transformational.

Trading just above 52 week low with re-structuring finished and the BOD driven to succeed, this is my 2012 multi bagger!

Morning SKyhigh,

Mainly over on lse board, but felt the need to get more epxosure for FRR, this is under the radar in many ways!!

There are some fantastic opportunities here, especially with the BEP (Bsain edge play) and Block 12, lets not also forget the gas and how close the pipeline is and how, in relative terms, cheap it is to connect to!!!

I was in DPL recently, Outrider bought into them, very much like here and within approx a month or so the BOD announced that Ophir had made an offer to buy them which was accepted.

Now Outrider are a class act and make things happen! Do yuo think perhaps that there is a predator out there???

This has now made me sit up. PLainfield not holding is not what we should be looking at Outrider holding IS!!!

gra69 - 21 Jan 2012 08:59 - 14 of 64

i do feel that our patience will be rewarded.

There are many factors that are holding us back, none more important thasn the lack of nws of course. But i feel that behind the scenes each factor is being dealt with by the BOD and as said before 'the ducks are being lined up'.

yes an RNS regarding operational progress would be great but imagine an RNS or series of RNS that simply compound the company transformation.

1. Operational Update(s)

2. Farm-in partner

3. Holdings (ii)

4. Broker Note

These are what i am expecting to see soon enough. Whilst they may all come rolled in one mega RNS each one has enough importance to significantly push the sp higher, each one adding value to FRR and each resulting in greater exposure to other investors!

So i will wait, the CEO is in London as we speak (courting II's or maybe signing 'deals') and will be attending II presentations as he did last week?

The anticipated Broker Note will be deep with detail, lets face it, the BOD are going to arm them with each and every piece of intel that possible to get the ii's juices flowing!!! Indeed, this alone could be transformational!

So, like i said at the start frustrating, but with so so much on the horizon, bloody exciting!!!!!!!!

694% Upside

On the front line

Following the successful restructuring of its balance sheet in 2011,

Frontera has started its two year development plan at three fields in

Georgia. Since then the company has made progress and is gearing up to

start gas sales in April. We feel that the company is well placed to meet

its production target of 5,000bbl/d in 18 months.

Development underway

The two-year plan started in September 2011 and has already yielded a gas discovery

at Mtsare Khevi. Oil production continues at 220bbl/d and the company has 300boepd

of gas production shut in and due to come to market in April. Given these initially

positive results, we are comfortable that the company can meet its goal of 5,000bopd

within the two development timeframe.

Balance sheet restructured, funding is available

Last year saw the conversion of 85% ($91.1m) of the company’s debt being converted

into equity as well as raising $11m of new money. The company has recently drawn

down a $3.1m loan using its SEDA facility to pay for its development activities.

Frontera has yet to tap into the $250m cost recovery pool given that production has

yet to ramp up. Again we are comfortable for now that sufficient capital is available to

the company to fund its future activities.

Overhangs could still be an issue

With c.2.2 billion shares in issue as well as several large holding, long suffering

shareholders, there remains potential for large overhanging sell orders in this stock in

future. Clearly such circumstances would depress the share price again.

Valuation and recommendation

Frontera’s share price has been very weak since the placing (at 4p) last year due to a

substantial share overhang in the market, which has now been cleared out. However,

the company has made good progress with its development project so far, but has yet

to benefit from any increase in production so far. The share price should be driven by

positive production news over the next 18 months. We therefore initiate coverage

with a Buy recommendation and set an 18 month of Target Price of 8p. We have not

included a valuation for the exploration assets as there is no work plan or funding for

them, but these could add significantly to the valuation once they come into play.

A draft of this research has been shown to the company following which minor factual amendments have been made.

There has been a background seller for some while which has kept this depressed, but what is more notable is the fact that the buyer is taking out larger chunks now. For me, this is a sign that they are keen to accumulcate their target holding quickly. Why, well perhaps they are aware of some news that we are not privy too, secondly, they are aware that the retail shares in free float as such are getting very short and with both the sp will increase rapidly.

All imho, but possible no less

A post from hearmenow on iii

Trying to provide current and prospective investors with a balanced overview of this stock at current prices.

POSITIVES

Significantly undervalued (i.e. SP does not reflect upside)
a. Trading under NAV
b. Trading more than 20x under current market cap
c. 0.97p is lowest SP in 5 year history

Producing company (albeit small at 220bopd + 300 boepd gas)

Reserves (P3) and contingent resources of 174mmbbls. Total potential resource base of 2+ billion boe (high case)

100% owner & operator of acreage (Georgia)

Acreage in a proven oil & gas region with local operators & blue chips present nearby

Good infrastructure for exploration & production

Operating in a politically stable & tax efficient region with good fiscal terms

Board/Management team with extensive international experience & significantly invested

Director’s buys at current levels

Near term news flow (development & appraisal drilling in Q2, gas sales in Q2, farm-out news)

Fully funded for near term exploration commitments (until roughly Q3)

Sufficient analyst coverage (Old Park Lane Capital, Seymour Price & finnCap with targets between 8-12p)

NEGATIVES

Poor historical drilling, management & therefore SP performance

High no. of shares in issue (2.15 billion)

Poor liquidity (especially at times of higher volume as spread widens)

No big name institutional investors (e.g. JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs etc.)

Debt (circa £40M)

Level of interest/popularity among investors and media is low

Overall confidence of current investors is low

Second drawdown on equity line (circa $2M) anticipated on or around June 8th 2012 (dilution)

Currently a seller in the market (possibly a current II), resulting in a sustained & depressed SP

SUMMARY & DECISION

Positives outweigh negatives in the short term. Once the seller has completed their business, SP should begin to rise. Excellent short term investment (3-4 months)

A nice summary

I will be holding this for amin of 12-18 months, so any paper loss i have at the mo will pale into insignificance in the future. From your post i take it you have sold out? I do understand if you were unable to hold, afterall, its only a loss if you sell, as they say.

In the fullness of time and indeed weithin the next 4/6 weeks for starters this will be a comletely different story here.

For me the current selling is Yorkville, taking a quick profit on some of their drawdown shares. Helps them de-risk, just like we would. This will stop of course.

Frontera Resources

Risky but rewarding

Potential justifies development risks

Initiation

BUY (initiation)

TP: GBp1.7 (initiation)

7 March 2012

With a large and prospective block, and a planned two-year, 20-fold growth in production it is an exciting time to watch Frontera. Although a high-risk investment, if the Company can successfully develop its projects this year, massive upside could be unlocked. We initiate with a BUY and TP of GBp1.7/sh.

Huge potential. Operating a huge 5,060km2 block in Georgia with favourable PSA terms, mean Frontera has significant potential upside if it can achieve its plan to increase production from 220bpd to 5,000bpd over the next 24-months.

...but mixed track record. The reason for this share’s discount versus this opportunity is a mixed track record of development and high G&A costs, which has seen significant dilution and write-downs for historic investors. We have therefore been cautious in assessing the Company’s development programme. We impose 60% discount on our valuation until test-results de-risk this programme.

Even partial success offers large upside. 2012 will prove a key year for the Company, with key results expected near-term which should help to de-risk the Company. Until these come in, Frontera will remain quite a speculative name; but we believe that significant opportunities justify the risks and current prices offer at an attractive entry level.

Rating and TP. We initiate coverage on Frontera Resources with a BUY rating and a target price of GBp1.7/share. Our valuation is relatively cautious and focuses only on the near-term projects. We would raise our TP to GBp4.6/sh if the Company achieves its near term development goals, on these projects, and if exploration potential were monetised, this could move much further.

Big buys being made by (Directors), always a good sign, (Putting money where their mouth is). Worth a little dabble at these prices.........IMO.
