Gone long on SGE looks like a good trade set up here. Chart and fundies both solid.

SGE SAGE looks set for a recovery and return to recent highs. The long term chart shows a nice uptrtend channel in place with the SP having bounced of the trendfloor and now looking to head for the ceiling at around 310p.

This Wednesday Sage is expected to turn in a robust set of results, as it benefits from small and medium businesses turning to its management software to reduce operating costs. It will also have to address the cost of its legal battle with Mind Your Own Business, its Australian rival, which launched legal action against the company when Sage dropped its A$1.33bn (854bn) bid to buy it earlier this year

Well tomasz, I'm still long the uptrend is still intact. Albeit it is clinging to support, December is still a way off and i am reasonably confident. Put my mind at rest, I was guessing before are you Italian? Obviously if the market pukes it will take Sage and everything else with it so who knows Belisamo (have I spelt that right?) :0)

more like polish chris ;) anyway this is coiling now with pressure to the down side to me.must hold there then it will break out from here to the upside I see 30-40 to make risking just 4-8 at structure.got to say its not giving up much info either so will look intraday at 350 ish for clues...

Had a good run and has turned down from being over bought on chart. Results tomorrow. The trend would appear lately on results day for stocks to go down on profit taking. Still think there is potential here for a target of 430p imo.

Sage Group has improved its FY pertax profit by 69.1% to £278m, from £164m. Revenue was £1.31bn, from £1.38bn. Its total dividend was 12.12p a share, from 11.32p.
CEO Stephen Kelly said he reconfirmed the board's financial targets for 2015 and recognised the 2014 results as an important milestone on the path to meeting them.
"Our financial performance demonstrates the strength of Sage's global business and the quality of relationships it has with millions of SME customers worldwide," Kelly said.
"Looking ahead, I believe that Sage, as a trusted partner to our customers, can be even more instrumental in supporting the success of SMEs around the world.
"I look forward to building on Sage's technology leadership, both in the cloud and on-premise, together with our outstanding customer support, to the benefit of our current and future SME customers."
Sage said it was on track to deliver the 2015 financial targets of 6% organic revenue growth and 28% operating profit margin:
Key financial milestones achieved for 2014 with organic revenue growth of 5% (2013: 4%) and organic operating profit margin of 27.5% (2013: 27.1%);
Software subscription revenue growth of 28% (2013: 13%) the primary driver of organic revenue growth;
Organic recurring revenue growth increased to 7% (2013: 6%), with organic SSRS revenue contracting by 1% (2013: flat);
Improved revenue mix with recurring revenue representing 73% of Group revenue (2013: 71%); and
Recurring revenue growth, with strong subscription growth, underpins confidence in meeting 2015 targets.
Moreover, it said sound execution against strategic priorities sees subscription base increase and cloud momentum build:
The move to higher quality software subscription revenue continued, with a 29% increase in the organic annualised value of the software subscriber base to £220m (2013: £170m);
Subscription is driving increased customer loyalty, which is reflected in an increase in the recurring contract renewal rate to 83% (2013: 82%);
Strong momentum for Sage One as a small business global cloud solution; present in 10 markets and ca.150% increase in paying subscriptions to 86,000 (2013: 35,000), driven by strong run-rates in the UK & Ireland ("UKI") and South Africa; and
Disciplined resource allocation continued with 17% increase in R&D and S&M expenditure on "Invest" products.

Sage Group said it remains on course to achieve the targets of 6% organic revenue growth and 28% operating margin in 2015, with the anticipated acceleration in revenue growth weighted towards H2, as stated at the time of the 2014 full-year results.
"For the first three months of the year, Group organic revenue increased by 5.3%," it said in a statement.
"Organic recurring revenue grew by 7.0% for the first quarter, primarily driven by software subscription growth, and organic software and software-related services ("SSRS") revenue grew by 1.0%," Sage said.
"Organic software subscription revenue growth of 28.8% in the quarter maintains the growth momentum reported with the 2014 full-year results. All regions contributed to this performance, with Europe delivering particularly good growth on an established software subscription base.
"As stated at the time of the 2014 full-year results, areas of weakness continue to be payments in North America and Europe Enterprise, particularly in France, and Management remain focussed on taking actions in these areas.

Reuters - City of London police arrested a Sage Group (SGE.L) employee on Wednesday at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of conspiring to defraud the British software maker, police said in a statement.
The 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud in connection with an alleged fraud against the company. She was subsequently released on bail, the police said.
Earlier this week, the Newcastle-based company, one of Britain's biggest tech firms, said an internal login had been used to gain unauthorised access to some of the personal employee data of around 280 of its British customers.
Sage supplies accounting and other financial software to 3 million small and medium-sized business customers globally. Its payroll-processing software is used by more than half of Britain's companies, analysts estimate.
Sage is working to ascertain whether any data has actually been stolen, a source at the company said on Monday.
Following the arrest, Sage declined to comment other than to reiterate it was cooperating with the police investigation.
The police statement said she was a current Sage employee but provided no further details.

Sage Group booked a substantial rise in annual profit, underpinned by rising subscriptions to its software products.
Pre-tax profit rose 41.3% to £342m, as revenue increased by 19.2% to £1.72b.
Sage declared a final dividend of 15.42p, up 9% on the previous year.
"FY17 marks the completion of the transformation of Sage," chief executive Stephen Kelly said.
"For each of the past three years we have delivered management's guidance for at least 6% organic revenue growth and 27% underlying operating margins, whilst fundamentally transforming Sage."
Turning to its outlook, Sage said it expected to post organic revenue growth in the 2018 financial year of 8%.
"We expect to continue to achieve cost efficiencies that will be more than sufficient to offset any losses in the acquired businesses as they scale. We are therefore confident of delivering an organic operating margin of around 27.5% in FY18," it added.

2018 full year guidance has been revised to around 7 percent
Sage Group Plc fell by the most in over 24 years Friday, after the U.K.’s largest software company posted a surprise warning that sales had failed to hit expectations.
Shares fell by 20 percent in London, the biggest drop since July 1993, after the company said growth will be hit by a decline in recurring revenue and poor performance in its enterprise software business.
"Growth over the first half of 2018 was lower than our expectations as the pace of execution has been slower than we planned," said Stephen Kelly, chief executive officer, Sage Group.
Sage is currently transitioning to a subscription model, attempting to get new customers to purchase new cloud-based products. However sales in Northern Europe and Africa, Middle East, failed to hit targets.
As a result, 2018 full year guidance has been revised a percentage-point down to around 7 percent organic revenue growth, according to a statement Friday. The organic operating margin of 27.5 percent has remained unchanged.

Analyst Doubts
Analyst flagged their concern in January over Sage’s ability to hit its 8 percent target for 2018, after the company posted first quarter organic revenue growth of 6.3 percent.
"While the outlook for the full year 2018 organic operating margin is unchanged at 27.5 percent, clearly there is more uncertainty around whether that is achievable," analysts at Shore Capital said in a note on Friday.
Over the six months ended March 31, organic recurring revenue growth is expected at 6.4 percent, down from 11.1 percent the year previous. Software subscription growth of 25.3 percent is down from 30.7 percent.
"We maintain our view that driving accelerating organic revenue growth in a software company that had been more focused on its installed base is challenging," Adam Wood, an analyst at Morgan Stanley, said in a note, "especially without seeing margins decline to drive the acceleration."
The U.K. software company’s first-half 2018 results announcement is set to be published on May 2.

Hit by decline in recurring revenue and drop in licenses
2018 full year guidance has been revised to around 7 percent
Sage Group Plc fell by the most in over 24 years Friday, after the U.K.’s largest software company posted a surprise warning that sales had failed to hit expectations.
Shares fell by 20 percent in London, the biggest drop since July 1993, after the company said growth will be hit by a decline in recurring revenue and poor performance in its enterprise software business.
"Growth over the first half of 2018 was lower than our expectations as the pace of execution has been slower than we planned," said Stephen Kelly, chief executive officer, Sage Group.
Sage is currently transitioning to a subscription model, attempting to get new customers to purchase new cloud-based products. However sales in Northern Europe and Africa, Middle East, failed to hit targets.
As a result, 2018 full year guidance has been revised a percentage-point down to around 7 percent organic revenue growth, according to a statement Friday. The organic operating margin of 27.5 percent has remained unchanged.
