March passenger and load figures confirm growth trend at Europe's main budget airline.
Present share price may provide a good medium term buying opportunity, given recent broker upgrades to 380pence.
Consensus EPS for Sep 04 is 20.7p, rising to 26.8p in 05, and 35.3p in 06. Given the new routes announced recently, these forecasts are probably too cautious. A PEG ratio well below 1, puts this stock in the growth-value category, and well worth holding for the next 12-24 months.
All IMHO.

Shares Mag rates Easyjet a BUY at 305pence.
HSBC has upped its rating from 'add' to 'buy' and set a price target of 400pence.
Given earnings forecasts, expansion of routes, move to cheaper Airbus planes and potential growth in the un-tapped European low fares sector, it all adds up IMHO to a buying opportunity.

Agree Woodie on downside.
I think the "fear" discount is already priced into the stock, as I think given earnings momentum, fair value would be much higher than where we are now.
New routes to Spain & France start in June and are likely to be popular given the numbers of property owners abroad. Revenue is usually biased towards summer season and this will improve it further.

Correct me Woodie, but these have gotta be a buy below the 300pence level, given the earnings picture going forward?
I bought these on a 3 year outlook, with a view to reassessing after 2 years. The 3 year prospective p/e comes down practically to single figures. Fundamentals look excellent, valuation cheap at these levels?

Really looking for a good summer season with new routes, looking for 380p on a 6month view. Current lows don't bother me in the slightest.

easyJet June passengers up 28 pct; load factor 86 pct
AFX
LONDON (AFX) - easyJet PLC, the Luton-based low-cost airline that issued its second profit warning in less than five weeks early last month, said it carried 2.24 mln passengers in June, an increase of 28 pct on the same month last year.
Load factor -- passengers as a proportion of the number of seats available -- was 86 pct, the same as last year and compared to 81 pct in May.
Ray Webster, chief executive, said the figures were in line with its June 6 statement.
'We continue to capitalise on our market and financial strengths -- last month we began new services to Cologne, announced that we would base a further three new aircraft at Berlin (bringing the total to nine) and added five new routes from London Gatwick.'
easyJet's rolling 12-month revenue to end-June was 1.03 bln stg, up 21 pct, while the rolling 12-month passenger total and load factor was 22.9 mln and 84 pct respectively.
The airline's June 6 update forecast a year to end-September 2004 pretax profit that 'at least' exceeds the 52 mln stg achieved last time -- assuming a slight easing in global oil prices, that sterling remains reasonably strong against the US dollar, and a stable geopolitical environment.
Earlier this week Stelios Haji-Ioannou, easyJet's founder, was linked with a possible move to take it private.
Reports suggested Haji-Ioannou, who stepped down as easyJet chairman in 2002, plans to fund a 650 mln stg bid by selling his family's interest in the Stelmar shipping business, borrowing, or teaming up with a private-equity or venture capital group.
Haji-Ioannou's easyGroup Holdings Ltd vehicle holds 16.6 pct of easyJet's equity. His brother Polys and sister Clelia hold a further 24 pct.
easyJet's shares closed Tuesday at 150 pence, valuing the company at 599.4 mln stg.

Bubbling underground.
Had a few small gains by you standard, but it's money in the bank.
Sitting long on SEY and PRE both in profit and waiting for developements so I am quite pleased.
Tried to get back into retail and got me fingers burnt on SOF which dipped below support as it was then, and has continued to stay there.
I did a bit of afterwards market research in your style, and visited a few Somerfields.
I was worried about what I saw, not many customers, prces at the top end, and I hate the card scheme, where you have to have one or you don't get any bogof's etc.
Recipe for disaster in my book.
No wonder their growth is so slow!
Got money to play, just don't know where to put it.
Like EZJ as you have seen but I feel I can do better than current levels, with patience.
Brown and Jackson is a mystery...............
WLW does not dip below 42.5p on a bad day, I still suspect poor autumn sales there.

easyJet PLC
19 November 2004
easyJet plc
Friday 19 November 2004
RNS Announcement
The Board of easyJet plc has received this communication from Stelios
Haji-Ioannou which is attached below together with Sir Colin Chandler's response
on behalf of the board.
'Sir Colin,
this is a short note to let you know about my meeting with Hannes
Smarasen, the Chairman of the Board of Icelandair which took place at the
easyGroup office in London on the 17th of November at his request.
He explained to me that their investment in easyJet PLC, which I
estimated to have cost them around GBP50m, was financed by some of the GBP60m in
cash Icelandair had on its last published balance sheet dated 30/6/06 plus a
capital increase since that date and some leverage, both of unspecified amounts.
Then I explained to him that I am an insider to easyJet and that I would not be
able to discuss matters which are not already in public domain. The rest of the
discussion centered around my already published views on matters like going
private and/or selling down/out, neither of which is an option I am considering
at the moment.
I also explained that because I own the 'easy' brand privately and license it to
the airline, I would not exit from easyJet PLC, as the brand is a key component
of my overall easyGroup expansion plans. I also reminded him that for as long as
I own 10% of the stock I have the right to be chairman.
We also exchanged views on how to improve the profit margin and the return on
capital employed (ROCE) of easyJet PLC which we both agreed are the key
performance indicators of any business. Since both of us are knowledgeable
airline investors, we touched on the usual subjects of aircraft utilization and
airport costs but we both agreed there are no paradigm shifts in the cost base
one could anticipate in the near future. However we both agreed more can be done
on both costs and yield improvement.
We agreed to stay in touch, from time to time, as I would be happy to do with
anyone who has invested such a large amount of cash in any of the companies that
I have an interest in. I thanked him for the confidence in easyJet PLC and
congratulated him on the timing of his investment.'
'Dear Stelios
Thank you for your letter and my colleagues and I are grateful for the record of
your meeting. Like you, we are pleased with the investment by Icelandair as a
statement of confidence in the easyJet business model. We intend to release your
letter and this reply to the market this evening and on our website
with best regards
yours sincerely
Colin

Chairman

BB,thats what the boards are all about, opinions yours is different to mine. I have no position on this any more, but i would find a climb to those numbers amazing, its all about costs with ezj,and they fly to premiun airports, which charge top wack ,,o`leary air they are not.
I hope your right if you are a holder ,,booboo,,but i cant see it myself!

Opto cracking chart thats why i bought at 131/150,but that was then, and this is now,i just cant see the buyers willing to enter at this level and
hang around to those levels of 2.50/3.00 ..
Its easy to turn 25% profit on a weak situation,,131/150 level,,than it is now.
Easyjet was a nice one to buy,,,but now for me i will leave it alone..
COME ON EASYJET.

Is anyone surprised by the rise in sp in the past few months, surely the finance fundemental alone do not generate this rate of rise. Imminent bid for this company must be on the cards very near future.
R88AVE
- 08 Jan 2007 08:33
- 159 of 159
I think there is a connection in sp and traffic stat (released monthly) which has been rising consistently. The traffic stats will give you an idea how well the company is performing, not like traditional way to wait for the trading update or interim which leaves PI guessing. Any positive news always drives the sp up and with the 'monthly trading update' being positive its hardly surprising the sp is on the up.
