Copies drom another board for your inf..looks very interesting

This isnt a pie in the sky statement, I actually have a friend who works for a very well known investment house.
So as to protect him, and myself, I am going to state right here and now, that what I am writing is unsubstantiated rumour... OK.... But just remember you heard it here first...
URA have a target lined up, and apparently they are in the process of crossing the T's and dotting the i's. It's mentioned that it is big, and URA will have to go to the market for funding. Also mentioned that Investment houses etc will be the only ones open to the offer. Mentioned also that the price will be at a massive premium to todays price.

So, lets consider this to be unsubstantiated rumour... We know of the Directors pedigree..... We also know the 2 new guys tasked with sourcing these investments are go getting hungry young proffesionals, with an excellent past record, we know that Steinpreise (And his brother) love building massive stocks from shells. We also know they have many many contacts in the city. We also know that Uranium is "In", we also know uranium is fetching the highest prices on record, we also know there is a lack of companies in this exciting sector.
We have on record, Directors saying they expect to be able to make announcements soon. We also have on record directors saying they expect the shares to be at a much much higher level than flotation price, we also have on record Directors saying they have the necessary expertise, experience and enthusiasm to negotiate the purchase of appropriate uranium assets and strongly position the company in this exciting sector.

So, its make your mind up time...
Lets look at what the directors have said, then compare them to the "unsubstantiated rumour"..... Hmmmmm, looks like an almost exact match.... Almost word (rumour) for Word (Rumour).

This is the kind of news I keep under my belt until such times as I have a position on a stock, but as we are all aware, I have a position, and the stock is now lower than my investment in it is. I am hoping to be able to release more funds to aquire more, but the news can come at litterally anytime. Could be on market open Monday morning, could be hours/days/weeks, I would say Month, but am led to believe weeks is a better bet.
Who has seen the lottery advert? "You have to be in it to win it".
This stock has win win win written all over it, but without the 14M to 1 chance of coming up trumps as on the lottery.

Do as much research as you can, look at the pros and cons... Lots n lots of pro's here, with no cons that I can see.

Look also at a recent cash shell that is now at 1.50 when floated at 10p, being headed up by an ex cricketer.... Then look at the pedigree of our board, and where our price is... I know where my money would be, and where it is...

Still do as much research as you can.
The info is "not from an insider" and all that malarky, but from a guy I actually got to know from dealing in shares about 5years ago. I have only ever been given one what might be called bum stear, and that was about 4 years ago, regards Mondas.... Mind you, it was a difficult time in the market, and stocks were crashing left right and centre. I chose to ignore his advise on a few occasions, and lost massively.. AIH, and another which I cant remember now, but both went bust.
Also remember that whilst info shared is as accurate as can be, it is not always guaranteed.
But, the points in my previous mail add up to 2 + 2 = 4.
If nothing else, I would encourage people to look at the Directors statements, look at the timescales implied in said statements, look at the appointment of Paul and Chris, look at Steinpreises history in turning small capped stocks into big money making machines, look at the Uranium exploration market as a whole, and then make their decision.
Also the directors comments regards price at flotation.
I think there are a lot lot more riskier places to put your money, at least URA are also cash positive with very little cash burn and no debts as well.
When it happens, it will happen big, the Directors are old hands at this game, and will ultimately seek to make themselves richer as they hold most of the stock, but the 48% of stock that is left is us smaller investors opportunity to grab some and share in that wealth.
One thing is for certain, the Steinpreises are hungry for more and more wealth, and they wont want to see the share price languishing where it is.
My info and gut feeling is it will be big. If I'm right, then we can all get wealthy, if i'm wrong, then we have to absorb a bit of a loss.
Odds are stacked in our favour, thats the first bit that has gone our way.

A copy of a post just made (By myself) on a different bb. But o so true about sector sentiment. We are in an age where companies are not being valued on prospects, projects, etc etc, but we are being driven by "Sector Sentiment". All because some overpaid suit and tie with a title of Resources "ANALyst" say's the sector is weak, what they invariably mean, is they want to take some long positions and it will be much more beneficial to them if they could depress prices.

I in a way disagree that it is a poor excuse... Its market sentiment only... The suits and ties dont tend to look at individual companies, but rather sectors as a whole..
They still make their margins, but if they were to actually look at individual companies, then there would need to be a lot lot more of them, so they get an understanding of what each individual companies progress etc is.
Your posts are spot on, and I for one thank you for sharing you info/ from chats you have had with them.
Sentiment will return... We all know that, we just have to turn the TV on and watch the news... Today telecom stocks rose because of strong results from Vodaphone.... Tommorrow... Telecom stocks fell today because of worries about Nokia, day after Supermarkets rose today because of strong sales figures from Tesco, day after that Supermarket stocks fell today because of worries over Morrison... Its all sector related.. Thats a fact.. I have on my watch list, 2 stocks which are currently undervalued on their NAV by over 200%... Shocking... But, they just so happen to be in a "sector" that is not in favour.... Give it another couple of months, for them to do the rounds, and they will get back to ours, when we will probably see on TV, exploration companies rose sharply today after a top ANALyst said the sector was undervalued.

Most of the price drop has been because of small investors selling off. Trouble is, most of the small investors selling off is what creates the dip, nothing to do with fundamentals, nor company projects, nor company progress... But because of Boredom (They want their stocks to rise every single day) and because of these so called ANALysts comments, likening all stocks in a particular sector under one heading, if this sector is out of favour, then small investors listen to these twa*z, and sell out.

Now, whilst Steinpreis and Rowan have proven track records, they will not have set up this vehicle to lose money, nor would they have set it up to double, treble or even quadruple there money... They will want to make HUGE BIG MEGGA bucks

Comment from our Director... (Made approx 6 months ago)
I'm pretty confident we will find a deal in the next three to six months.

Sequestor - 06 Jun 2005 10:02 - 5 of 160

hmmm, must admit I bgt.a small tranche when that heady rise happened, kept them for posterity when the backside fell out, you never know!!!!!!

just sit tight and wait.........but in my view we could see the sp rise above the 9p mark before the RNS is issued on speculation, so here is hoping

miles2875 - 07 Jun 2005 09:05 - 7 of 160

Finally got an email response from URA, so Have a bit in Black and White...

Copy from iii board

"To Quote"........

"The directors are working towards maximising shareholders wealth"

"there has, in general, been a downturn in all mining stocks over the last few weeks"

There we have it gents..... You really need to see the whole mail to be able to read between the lines, but Directors ARE working hard to MAXIMISE shareholder value.... And yet another Company secretary going on record as saying there has been a downturn in all mining stocks (Market sentiment)...
If you want a good one, which will realise massive returns, then get you posteria into URA....

The truth ius this was ramped up over all the threads on ADVFN yesterday, and that may have caused some interest that may not be sustained.

Uranium Resources PLC
18 July 2005

Uranium Resources plc / Market: AIM / Epic: URA / Sector: Exploration

Uranium Resources plc ('Uranium Resources' or 'the Company')
Acquiring Prospecting Licences in Tanzania with Uranium Potential

Introduction

Uranium Resources plc, the AIM listed Australian and African focussed uranium
development company is acquiring four uranium prospecting licences in Tanzania,
which is considered to be one of the more exciting regions in the world to
prospect for deposits of this mineral. The Company is acquiring the licences
covering an area of approximately 2,500 km2 through the purchase of Deep Yellow
Tanzania Ltd for 350,000. The consideration is 50,000 cash and 6,000,000 new
ordinary shares to be issued at an agreed value of 5p per share, valued at
300,000. The acquisition marks the first stage in the Company's strategy of
building a portfolio of uranium deposits and licences with a focus on known but
underdeveloped resources.

Details of the licences

The licences represent one of the largest uranium exploration land packages in
Tanzania. The area was identified as highly prospective for uranium by the
German company Uranerzbergbau GmbH ('Uranerz') during reconnaissance exploration
between 1978 and 1982. Three of the licences are located in the Mkuju River area
in southern Tanzania recognised by Uranerz as one of the two most important
uranium targets in Tanzania. The licences will make the Company the largest land
holder in the Mkuju River area. The fourth licence, the Makutapora Prospect,
targets uranium in calcrete.

The recognition by Uranerz of suitable lithologies in the Tanzanian Karroo
formation together with the discovery of uranium mineralization, makes this
parcel of land very prospective and the size of it may be an ideal joint venture
proposition once better defined for a major company seeking land for
exploration.

Uranium Resources plans to establish an African based exploration team to carry
out field work and a geophysical data review, aimed at commencing detailed
exploration activities in the second half of the year. The team, led by South
African based director and uranium specialist Dr Leon Pretorius, will also
review further acquisition opportunities in Africa as and when identified.

Uranium Resources Chairman, David Steinepreis, said: 'The acquisition is part
of our strategy of building a substantial uranium focussed portfolio of
exploration and production assets. We have a strong management team with both
financial and uranium experience who I believe have the ability to achieve our
corporate objectives. This is a great deal for us as we believe that Tanzania is
one of the most exciting locations for successful uranium exploration in the
world. The area has favourable geology and notably low exploration costs which
combine to make the licences extremely attractive.

'While the gold mining sector has boomed and investment in nickel, platinum and
coal exploration has been extremely strong, uranium exploration in Tanzania is
at an early stage. Yet, as well as promising geology, the average historical
expenditure on uranium exploration in the country has been US$4 per km2 compared
to US$16 per km2 in the western part of Africa and US$224 per km2 in the United
States.

'We are currently evaluating a number of other known deposits that we believe
are suitable for our investment criteria and will update the market if and when
we have agreed the terms of further investments.'

Geology of the Mkuju River Area, Southern Tanzania

The Mkuju River licences cover over 2,000km2 of Karroo sediments within the
Luwegu and Ruhuhu Basins. Uranerz identified outcropping uranium in the Mkuju
River area. Uranium Resources' tenements cover the prospective Karroo sediments
along strike to the south from these outcrops as well as analogous positions to
the west.

Uranium deposits of the sandstone-type targeted in the Luwegu Basin comprise
more than 30% of currently known uranium deposits in Africa. In Africa, these
types of deposits host in excess of 300,000 tonnes of U3O8 and are principally
hosted by geology analogous to that of the Luwegu and Ruhuhu Basins.

Geologically the area consists of Permian age Karroo sedimentary rock. The
Karroo Formations occur throughout southern Africa and drew much attention from
uranium explorers during the 1970s and early 1980s. A number of discoveries
were made and a few taken to full feasibility. The one drawing the most
attention at present is the Kayelekera deposit 200km to the west in Malawi where
Paladin Resources of Australia is undertaking a bankable feasibility study to
verify the previous results of the CEGB.

The mineralisation is associated with remobilised uranium within sandstone beds,
known as 'roll-fronts'. Lithologically the prospective Karroo sandstones are
part of a thick succession of fluvio-lacustrine sedimentary rocks deposited
mostly in shallow water. The sandstones are interbedded and separated by
extensive mudstone beds. Low levels of uranium occur throughout these
formations, but not at economic concentrations. However, where folding or
erosion has exposed permeable sandstone beds to the surface influx of oxygenated
waters, the uranium is mobilised and precipitated at the reduction/oxidation
front - hence naming this style of mineralisation 'roll-fronts'. The
roll-fronts are not static and continue moving down dip over time as the influx
of surface water penetrates deeper.

Although narrow the roll-fronts are typically high-grade and have extensive
longitudinal continuity. The mineralisation is mainly restricted to sandstones
bounded by mudstones, but the roll-fronts are typically stacked which makes
mining them more economic.

Geology of Makutapora, Central Tanzania

The Makutapora licence covers a palaeo-channel that contains sediments and
calcrete. Previous explorers reviewed samples from water bores in the
Makutapora area and identified a 500ppm U3O8 assay in calcrete associated with a
groundwater uranium anomaly. Additional assays up to 285 ppm U3O8 have been
reported from shallow trenches within calcrete layers in the Mbuga muds at
Makutapora and in adjacent areas. None of these anomalies were followed-up by
drilling. The Company considers that the area contains significant potential for
calcrete-style uranium mineralization.

Terms of the Transaction

Uranium Resources has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire Deep
Yellow Tanzania Ltd, the 100% owners of the four licences, in consideration for
350,000 comprising the payment of 50,000 in cash, representing repayment of
past costs, and the issue of 6,000,000 ordinary shares at an agreed value of 5p
per share. The acquisition is subject to due diligence and the approval of the
shareholders of Deep Yellow Ltd, the vendor, which is quoted on the Australian
Stock Exchange.

Application will be made for the new shares to trade on AIM and it is expected
that dealings in these shares will commence within 14 days of the agreement
becoming unconditional. The new ordinary shares will rank pari passu in all
respects with the existing shares in issue.

Notes:

Uranium Resources plc was admitted to AIM on 18 February 2005. It was
established to acquire uranium assets on a worldwide basis with a primary
geographical focus on Africa and Australia. The Company will consider
acquisitions covering the full range of projects from exploration to production
with a bias towards known, but undeveloped uranium resources and has an initial
goal to acquire up to 100 million lbs of in-ground uranium. The Board of
Directors is experienced in identifying and evaluating uranium acquisition
opportunities and possesses the skills to finance and develop a portfolio of
uranium assets. The Company aims to take advantage of the re-organising of the
energy producing market and the increasing need for nuclear energy. Renewed
interest in uranium exploration and mining with the growth in energy
requirements in both the developed and developing worlds means that a shift
toward nuclear generation is increasingly likely. Importantly, nuclear energy is
the only base-load power source that does not produce greenhouse gases.

Looks ok to me. Also looking for other prospects.

belisce6 - 18 Jul 2005 16:23 - 38 of 160

shiiiiiiiiiiit.........just missed out on this one........

from my own analysis (so please do your own research !!!);

basically the guys that run this, also run DYL (Deep Yellow (penny share) aussie listed baby uranium explorer), and BLR (Black Range Minerals (penny share) - aussie listed co. that just got fixed, and is purchasing a copper play), and another geothermal/renewable energy company previously MOK (Mokuti) but now GRK (Green Rock Energy, aussie-listed as well).

If you look at the directors names you see the pattern.(www.asx.com.au)
Or simply check at the bottom of the second-last URA (RNS) announcement.

This Tanzanian thing made DYL go up a bit, when its purchase of the tenements was announced a while ago on the ASX, and now it seems that DYL has sold it to URA (a cousin ?? company)..

I read the DYL announcement about the sale of Tanzanian tenements on the ASX this morning, and then thought gotta get into URA but was hindered thru work commitments, then saw the announcement hit AIM and the 50% rise during the day.bummer !!!

Would like to think that this situation will repeat itself somewhere in the future, and holding both DYL (on ASX) and URA (on AIM) will become quite profitable..

latest RNS is quite interesting as it could be interpreted that they are in general discussions, perhaps internally, about t/o

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Uranium Resources PLC said in a statment in response to recent press speculation that it is not involved in any discussions concerning any specific offer for the company.

The AIM-listed uranium exploration and development company focused in Southern Africa added that it continues to explore a listing on the Australian Stock Exchange and is 'examining corporate structures which might achieve this'.

James Dines Uranium Picks Review, Part 2

By Jon A. Nones
17 May 2007 at 06:16 PM GMT-04:00

NEW YORK (ResourceInvestor.com) -- With uranium now priced at $120/lb and supply-demand fundamentals overly bullish, its hard to stomach a contrarian viewpoint. However, with so many junior uranium stocks trading near 52-week highs, more and more analysts are questioning whether the market is getting overheated.

Last month at the Uranium Stock Summit, Rick Rule of Global Resource Investments recommended taking some money off the table.

Make the money, take the money, he said. We are late in the cycle. Weve gone from homeruns of 10-baggers to doubles and triples.

Rule said there is still money to be made, but advocated being very selective when picking the right uranium stocks. At the time, he suggested Denison Mines [TSX:DML], Azimut Exploration [TSX-V:AZM] and Paladin Resources [TSX:PDN].

James Dines, editor of the Dines Letter, told listeners at this years New York Hard Assets Investment Conference that most people still dont know that a uranium bull market is going on, so theres still upside to come. However, even the original uranium bug was less confident about the longevity of the screaming uptrend.

I will be taking you out of uranium in the next few years, said Dines. This is not a sustainable boom.

But Dines was not shy about giving suggestions in a special uranium panel called Mr. Dines Uranium Picks. Last year, Resource Investor decided to review Dines uranium picks from a similar panel in an article entitled, James Dines Uranium Picks Review.

At the time of the article, six of eight picks made throughout the year were in the green. Today, however, only five of nine are still positive.

At the New York Hard Assets Investment Conference in May 2006, Dines covered Pinetree Capital Ltd. [TSX:PNP], Laramide Resources [TSX:LAM], Alberta Star Development Corp. [TSX-V:ASX; OTCBB:ASXSF] and Continental Precious Minerals [TSX-V:CZQ]. Laramide is the shining star among this group, with Continental trailing the pack.

It's good to be in one with so much near-term potential and such excellent U grades already then, in other words substance, like URA. There are so many over-priced examples out there, but this certainly isn't one of them imo. Also worth noting that although U stocks have had a bull-run on the AIM, on the TSX and ASX markets the article seems to be focussed on, U stocks have reached MUCH higher valuations.

The author also has to remember that big trends usually go on for much longer than people expect, and also that there is a genuine supply-demand issue that is not going to get better any time soon, in U. It's not just a craze or a vagiary of the market.

Western Metals Uranium Resources says decided to dual list on Australian Stock Exchange

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Uranium Resources PLC said it has decided to
dual list on the Australian Stock Exchange to increase its exposure in the
Australian investment community.
The AIM-listed company uranium exploration and development company said in
an AGM statement it has made considerable progress in advancing its portfolio
with the latest acquisition of licences to increase its land area to about
14,000 square kilometres in the Karoo Basin.
It added it is ideally placed to progress its exploration activities over
2007 in the joint venture with Western Metals.
Uranium Resources said it has resumed its exploration programme with a
reverse circulation drilling programme on its Mytona project in southern
Tanzania. It said initially, 4,000 metres of drilling is scheduled for June on
Mytona licence areas, including the Henri prospect.
It expects the first assay results from the drilling programme in early
August.

The big news today for holders of Western Metals was that it went into a trading halt this morning pending an announcement.

We all know that they are currently drilling at their Mtonya project in Tanzania so everybody has been guessing that it will be the long awaited drilling results from the Henri anomaly. This evening Western Metals' joint venture partner Uranium Resources PLC made the following announcement to the London Stock Exchange:

URAs joint venture partner, Western Metals Limited (WMT), has received further drilling results from Tanzania. WMT is currently evaluating these results. URA will make a further announcement in the coming days, as soon as it receives full details.

If the drilling results are good then expect Western Metals to open at a significant premium on Tuesday.

Uranium Resources plc ('Uranium Resources' or 'the Company')
Tanzanian Uranium Exploration Update

Highlights

Results show strong subsurface uranium mineralisation present
Initial assay results show peak intersections of:
o 7 metres at 1,233 ppm U3O8 including 3 metres at 2,607 ppm U3O8
o 7 metres at 549 ppm U3O8 including 4 metres at 843 ppm U3O8
o 6 metres at 507 ppm U3O8 including 2 metres at 1,145 ppm U3O8
o 7 metres at 400 ppm U3O8 including 3 metres at 770 ppm U3O8
o 4 metres at 515 ppm U3O8 including 2 metres at 855 ppm U3O8
Drilling to recommence early August 2007

Uranium Resources, the AIM listed uranium exploration company, has received
positive initial assay results from reconnaissance drilling at the Mtonya
uranium exploration project in Tanzania. The results are from the first batch of
samples from the 1,648 metre reverse circulation drilling programme conducted in
June 2007.

Uranium Resources director James Pratt said, 'These are again highly favourable
results. The initial first pass drilling programme has achieved its aim of
identifying significant subsurface uranium mineralisation in our Mtonya licence
areas. This coupled with the high grade trenching results provides us with great
encouragement for our future exploration and development programmes. We believe
that our area of operation in Tanzania is highly prospective and we hope that
the remaining results will emphasise this going forward.'

Shareholders are urged to read the announcement of the company's farm-in
partner, Western Metals Ltd, at

www.asx.com.au/asx/statistics/showAnnouncementPDF.do?idsID=00741223

which
includes a number of diagrams that the directors consider important to gain a
proper understanding of this announcement. The diagrams in this announcement
will also shortly be available on the Company's website,

www.uraniumresources.co.uk

.

Drilling Results

Results to date have shown that strong subsurface mineralisation is present.
The drilling has indicated multiple mineralised horizons preferentially hosted
in sandstone units frequently at or near contact with mudstone units. This is
typical for sandstone hosted roll front style uranium deposits such as the
Kyelekera deposit in nearby Malawi.

The drill section shown in Diagram 3 of Western Metals' announcement shows that
three mineralised zones are evident above a cut-off grade of 50ppm U3O8 with
consistent intersections within these zones above a 100 ppm U3O8 cut-off. The
peak intersection of 7 metres at 1,233 ppm U3O8 is located 200 metres from this
section on another drilling profile. Deeper drilling in the future will
determine if more mineralisation is present below those identified to date.
Intersection widths range up to 7 metres, which is encouraging for the economic
potential of the area.

Table 1 contains details of drill holes and intersection summaries.

Notes on Table 1:

Samples have been collected by riffle splitting dry intervals and representative
tube sampling of wet intervals. Samples have been analysed by ICP using
laboratory method ME-ICP61s by ALS Chemex laboratory Perth Australia. Certified
reference standards and blanks have been included in addition to laboratory
control standards. All results are in U3O8 ppm uranium with analysis method
accuracy quoted at 10 ppm U3O8. Co-ordinates are WGS84/S36 and have been
measured by hand held GPS.

Programme Strategy

Field work in 2006 highlighted many areas of potential with the Henri, Para,
Tahbilk, Galway Moysten, and Grandfather anomalies providing initial targets.
The June drilling programme tested Henri, Para and Tahbilk and follow-up
programmes are planned on these and other known targets.

Diagram 1 in Western Metals' announcement shows airborne radiometric survey
uranium data for the Mtonya area collected in April 2007. This shows multiple
anomalies exist in the area with an exposed anomaly trend greater than 7
kilometres by 2 kilometres.

Programme Details

The drilling programme conducted in June totalled 1,648 metres of RC drilling
comprising of 29 holes. The maximum hole depth was 98 metres with an average of
56 metres. Ground conditions limited drilling production rates and a decision
was made to modify the average planned hole depth from 100 to 50 metres,
allowing a greater number of holes to be drilled and an increased area covered
in the planned time frame.

Twenty one drill holes were completed on the Henri anomaly where previous
trenching work had yielded strong surface mineralisation. Two drill sections,
approximately 200 metres apart, were completed in addition to some isolated
holes off section.

At Para, approximately 800 metres south of Henri, two sections of drilling with
holes spaced at 100 metres were completed. Each section comprised three drill
holes.

Two drill holes were completed on the Tahbilk anomaly approximately 700 metres
north of Henri.

All holes were geologically logged on site by Western Metals staff. Sampling
was conducted on one metre intervals using representative sampling techniques.
Delays in the arrival of downhole geophysical equipment has postponed the
collection of downhole geophysical data until August. All completed holes have
been cased to allow the geophysical surveys to be conducted.

Samples were submitted to the ALS Chemex laboratory in Tanzania for preparation
and then dispatched to their Australian laboratory for analysis.

To date results from 11 of the Henri drill holes have been received, with
results of the remaining 18 holes expected in the coming four weeks.

Diagram 2 of Western Metals' announcement shows the drill hole collar locations
overlain on ground radiometric contour of > 15 times background counts per
second (cps). The status of each hole in relation to assay results is
highlighted.

During the drilling programme advanced radiation safety management systems were
implemented, including training on site for all personnel by an international
radiation expert, and site rehabilitation was progressed.

Future Programme

Drilling will recommence in the area in early August with the program planned to
further test the anomalies and follow up on the initial results. In addition to
drilling, field crews will undertake extensive trenching, sampling and mapping
on the Grandfather, Tahbilk, Para, and Henri anomalies. Ground scintillometer
surveys will be focused on detailing targets within the 7 kilometre trend that
have not been evaluated to date.

20p may turn out to be conservative after all the French bid nearly 4 for UMN as they are desperate to secure supplies of uranium to feed their large number of nuclear reactors, otherwise sometime in the future their lights will go out!

In the mail today it mentioned that the price of uranium ha dropped to about $120 & could go as far $95 becaue the U ha decided to sell some of their stockpile. What do you think this will do for the demand for these companies.

alanatml2 - 29 Jul 2007 01:05 - 88 of 160

Well, well the bears have driven the USA and world markets down giving the subprime lenders more exposure than they deserve. Deserving companies and many global markets with good earnings are driven lower by the herd. This is the third 'correction' in as many months. As manipulation volatility spread globally it has continued to feed the traders' greed, but, they have gone a step too far this time and investors' confidence, losses and sentiment has gone so a general slump is now inevitable. There is widespread evidence that individual stock prices are no longer driven by supply / demand, company perfomance facts and informed trading but by inuendo and misinformation.

It doesn't matter if there is a perceived demand for uranium until 2012, the markets are about to decline. URA won't be going anywhere as interest rate costs will be rising, The sp will drift until 'farm in' finance is forthcoming from the ASX floatation - if they can float in the present market condition as the IPO will probably get the lowest price expected.

I wouldn't mind having anyone's thoughts on 2 other uranium stocks, URU & Nu. URU only floated in Sept, since dropped from opening sp of 60p to 32p & on Friday moved up 5p, has it reached it's bottom ?

Glowing times ahead for uranium

Brian O'Connor, Daily Mail
29 October 2007, 9:31am
Reader comments (1)
British Energy's woes with its ageing plants are a warning of the problems the nuclear industry can cause.

They erupted just as uranium miners scent an upturn in their fortunes, which have been waning since the uranium price fell to $75 last month. Now it is back at $80 per pound.
BE has missed opportunities more than once, so it would not be surprising if it missed a global upturn. That is just what seems in prospect, judging by the mood at industry gatherings in the past fortnight.

Miners at a series of meetings hosted by broker BMO Capital Markets expressed optimism that the price slide was over. It followed an astonishing two-year price surge from $22 per pound in the 'spot' price (for immediate delivery) to $138 in June.

It was hardly surprising that speculators took profits. More selling came when the US decided to unload some of its strategic reserve.

Some investors will wish to steer clear of nuclear power. Others who followed our uranium tips on the way up - and subsequent advice to take some profits - have done well. Jamie Strauss, at BMO, who called both the upturn and the subsequent shake-out, now believes the fall is over.

The industry believes demand for primary (newly mined) uranium will treble by 2030. That could push the spot price from $80 to $100 a pound over the winter, although the long-term price (now $95) is more relevant to the industry.

The number of new nuclear reactors planned around the world is growing steadily - from 222 in January to 304 in August. Of these China accounts for 114. Not all will be built as governments ponder their impact. Strauss said: 'Undoubtedly the complexity of changes in government policies and the environmental implications are a recipe for delays. But the nuclear recovery is for uranium under way.'

This bodes well for one of our previous tips, UrAsia Energy, which merged with Canada's SXR to form Uranium One. With mines in South Africa and Kazakhstan and prospects in the US, it will be among the world leaders. Quoted in Canada, it is likely to seek a London quote in 2008 (if it stays independent; there are market rumours of a bid from Canada's Cameco).

Uranium One shares are about C$12.23 (just under 618p). If you bought UrAsia at our tip price of 140p, you have almost doubled your money. The shares still look cheap. So does Paladin Resources, which BMO rates as a well managed company, uranium with a producing mine in Namibia and a second on the way in Malawi. At A$7.84 (347p) it has already made money for Investment Extra readers and should make some more.

For those who prefer to stay closer to home, London-quoted Geiger Counter is a well regarded sector fund. First tipped here at 68.3p, it has been as high as 127p and is now 10034p. Recent months have shown the impact of speculation, so if you buy, set stop loss levels 20% below your entry price.

But the long-term energy shortage is worsening, and that is the gap uranium miners believe they can fill.

Like it or not - and many do not - nuclear power is hard to ignore as the world runs short of oil and gas, and the crude oil price rises above $90 a barrel. This week Germany's Energy Watch Group argued that global oil production has already peaked, and will halve by 2030.

That is more pessimistic than other forecasts, but if correct, oil could pass $100 and head for $200. EWG points out that the average size of a new oil find has plum- meted from 527m barrels in the 1980s to 20m recently.

That reinforces the case for green and 'clean' energy. But it also underlines the difficulty of doing without nuclear, which supplies one fifth of UK electricity, two thirds of French power and a large slice in other parts of Europe and the US.

pumben

I also hold both IMO they are the best at the moment; I would put URU & Nu. On your watch list with all these, BRM, CMR, INDY, INS, KAH, MUU, RGM, RRR, UEP, UMN, UUU, ZNI, ZRL. They are not all U miners but most are as you see there is plenty of them and a lot more some will fail. You can always jump on board one or two when they have some action (find the stuff or start producing) you will not be to late most of them are of punters radar's.

Im still holding URA and VML its early days for both and also looking to add on the two of them any good find of U on either of them will see the sp rocket making the loss on the other look small or they could both come good.

August drilling at Mtonya continues to define widespread uranium
mineralisation at Para, Henri, Moysten and Tahbilk Prospects

URA Director James Pratt said, 'The extensive exploration programmes, conducted
by our partners Western Metals, has again yielded exciting results which
underpin the Boards belief that we are operating in a new uranium district which has strong potential to house economic deposits. Exploration is on-going to further quantify the extent of the uranium mineralisation and we look forward to updating shareholders on our progress in the near future.'

Uranium Resources PLC
25 January 2008

Uranium Resources plc / Market: AIM / Epic: URA / Sector: Exploration

25 January 2008

Uranium Resources plc ('Uranium Resources' or 'the Company')
AGM Statement

Uranium Resources plc, the AIM listed uranium exploration and development
company, held its AGM today and all resolutions were duly passed.

At the meeting, Director Ross Warner made the following statement:

'During the year we have made considerable progress in advancing our uranium
portfolio in southern Tanzania. Our exploration and development programmes have
progressed well and results to date demonstrate that there is significant
potential for our licence areas to host an economic uranium deposit.

'Our aggressive exploration programme, which recently yielded the discovery of
two new uranium prospects within the highly prospective Ruvuma project area, is
continuing at pace. Importantly recent drill results from previously intersected
uranium mineralisation at our flagship Mtonya Project has increased the
identified subsurface uranium to a strike length of 4km. Together these results
act as further endorsement of the exciting potential of the region, and we look
forward to updating shareholders on our developments in the coming months.

'The aim for this year is to grow the Company through the advancement of our
current project portfolio and identifying further targets to expand our asset
base. We have a committed and active joint venture and development partner in
the form of Western Metals and a healthy current cash position of 1.95 million
which will more than cover Uranium Resources contribution to this year's
exploration budget, which we believe ideally places us to aggressively progress
our portfolio in 2008.'

Yesterday was even better it dipped 20% midday before ending up green.
The problem is a lot of my stocks could do with a top up at the prices they are RVD URA VML and SER.

relishing - 18 Mar 2008 12:28 - 132 of 160

SER probably the one most likely to rise in the short-term (imo).

driver - 18 Mar 2008 12:30 - 133 of 160

Yes you may be right the rest have a lot to do this year SER are properly in front.

halifax - 01 May 2008 12:36 - 134 of 160

As an alternative energy source for the future URA looks pretty cheap. Geiger Counter has a significant shareholding and their Australian partner is sharing the exploration and development costs. One to tuck away in anticipation of a major eventually taking an interest.

driver - 01 May 2008 12:43 - 135 of 160

halifax
It is cheap but I sold into IVE I dont think this will do much for a while I will keep my eye on it VML is even cheaper.

halifax - 01 May 2008 12:48 - 136 of 160

Driver have you read today's RNS? URA and their Australian partner have an extensive work programme for 2008/9 which could produce some interesting results and confirm Tanzania as a major source of uranium.

uranium will become "flavour" of the year 2010 as players dash to secure identified deposits.URA already has a tie up with RIO in Tanzania and a partnership with another Aussie mining outfit, so don't be surprised if a bid emerges.
