packman7: As a bottom fisher for recovery stocks, I appreciated your posting on UTN. Chart (and spread unfortunately) bit similar to CLY, also on my watch list, but UTN is on main list which might be a useful high flyer to join - or replace - SEO in an ISA. Am not impressed by their web site though; there is no company overview and is difficult to navigate around, but will keep watching and probably have a nibble.

Lots happening recently.
ebikes website updated
Solar Products on Twitter - alot of Saudi Arabia material including new products
Facebook - Updated this week too
Silicon - brilliant website now
Cognito - Website updated with reference to new sales for the 2014 period by a host of companies. The software generates significant cash and profits for the group.
Saudi Pilot Project exceeded expectations. At the time it was said if it met expectations then would expect repeat business. Talking to telecoms in Saudi Arabia and mining companies in South Africa.
5 year agreement in South Africa for bigger product.
Reforms in Mexico - near 12 month talks could result in substantial contract for remote power in schools
This is a 10 bagger and even 10p may look cheap some day. Aim of significant revenues through green. Chairman holds 40% from 1p and 1.40p - poured millions in and so much ammunition of newsflow on the horizon. Once on the radar could see Silicon CPV being reversed into UTN - Same people running the show.

More new clients for Cognito:
hTtp://www.cognitosoftware.com/legal,software,case,management,practice,management,26051,23463,26050,13790.html
Seems sales and profits on Cognito will be up sharply in the Interims due.
"Cognito continues to show strength and breadth of solution with new sales for the 2014 period being required by a host of companies".
Generated significant cash for the group previously (near 400K profit).
If that was sold and sole focus on green then imo could easily get 1 pence on the share price as a minimum just for that division. Yet we still trading on such an undervalued basis.

Solar poised for growth in Mexico and Central America - BNEF
Solar in Mexico and Central America is poised for growth in 2015 and 2016 after what looks to be a quiet year this year, according to a new Bloomberg New Energy Finance report.
BNEF’s analysis of the region predicts a “modest” 193MW this year, but a stronger 355MW in 215 and 456MW in 2016.
Overall, Mexico is forecast to see 100MW of new solar capacity this year, but thereafter other Central American countries are expected to account for the lion’s share of PV growth in the region as they seek to reduce dependence on expensive oil and diesel generation.
“These countries have unusually good wind, solar, geothermal, and hydro-electric power resources. Using these to meet much of the additional electricity demand in coming years, and replacing that costly oil and diesel power, makes sense,” said Yayoi Sekine, Latin America analyst at Bloomberg New Energy Finance. “It is becoming a key plank in the region’s energy policies.”
BNEF predicts that between 2014 and 2016 up to 477MW of new solar capacity installed across Central America, singling out Guatelama, Honduras, El Salvador and Panama as potentially promising markets.
In Mexico, despite good conditions for solar to take root and a healthy 2014 in store, BNEF said utility-scale PV development would “stall” after this year as new market rules are clarified. These are not expected to be fully implemented until 2016, until when BNEF said distributed PV would dominate in Mexico.
In other Central American countries, BNEF said governments were making positive efforts to increase private sector renewable energy generation, with tenders on offer in El Salvador, Panama and Guatemala, and Honduras and Costa Rica both offering feed-in tariffs.
However, the finance picture for solar and renewables in Mexico and Central America continues to be a mixed one. Although Mexico overall looks set to have a record-breaking year for clean energy finance, the US$61 million invested in solar in the first half of 2014 is a long way off the US$216 million invested last year.
Meanwhile, with US$21 million invested in PV so far this year, Central America more broadly is also some way from matching the total last year, when US$58 million went into solar.
Michel Di Capua, head of Americas analysis for Bloomberg New Energy Finance, said: “Renewables are not having everything their own way in these countries. Mexico continues to see strong investment in gas-fired generation, taking advantage of both its domestic resources and its proximity to US shale plays. Hydro-electric has run into some difficulties in Costa Rica and Panama, because of drought.
“And across the Central American region, financing for renewables does not come easily, making the role of development banks and export-import banks vital for projects to get off the ground. But policy is being amended in most countries to encourage stronger investment in wind, solar and geothermal.”

I hope they have the patent for the "Oasis solar power station" if so. then they have something that could be a great asset for Ultima, as it can be deployed almost any where in the world,
to provide power, if or when required, it needs no fuel, just the sun,
If it is the case, then It could be a real winner for the company.

As far as Saudi is concerned we know Oasis exceeded expectations and it was said if it met expectations then would expect repeat business. We know GTEK have been working hard with other products too. We know GTEK have participated in a Saudi exhibition recently too. GTEK have now built up their website and heavily marketing solar products.
The bang bang RNS on Saudi can't be far away. Then of course mining companies in South Africa and schools in Mexico. And doesn't end there with ripple effect into other countries. Even 10p at 28m may look dirt cheap soon. We know they've got a 5 yr agreement on the bigger Oasis product in South Africa - all allows more to showcase.
It was said in 2008 that they hoped for significant revenues from solar in the future.
Akhtar has set-up the Silicon CPV website with the same countries and others too. He's going v.big imo and we should be tasting something very nice with the share price.

Apparently there's some life changing news on the way from 'the sands'. Fearful of regional conflict and massive damage to vital infrastructure there needs to be a major re-think about how to power stand-alone locations. Anyone noticed how Diesel has become a dirty word recently.:

I think there is another Saudi exhibition coming up - GTEK were there in around May 2014 with their stand. Since then via twitter we have seen GTEK adding that the water pump has also been used in Saudi Arabia and there is more on telecoms which backs up the RNS in May 2014 where the company said it was looking at addiitonal opportunities with telecoms in Saudi Arabia.

Last year the Interims were released on 02/09/2013 which were accompanied with another RNS on the pilot project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
12 months now it is very likely a big statement on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is to follow.
At the time of the pilot project the Professor said they would expect repeat business if the trial met expectations. The May 2014 finals stated that the Oasis product exceeded expectations. The partner GTEK has been very active it seems in the area too and with other products too as per twitter and their own website feeds.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been the kings of Oil and now the big shift will happen from Oil to Solar. They have billions of pounds worth of Solar program and imo they'll hit it big time and hopefully provide significant revenue deals to UTN.
Mexico and South Africa news - they can also be transformational.

As for Saudi, the Oasis product secured a pilot project. The chairman at the time said if the product met expectations then would expect repeat business. Well the product exceeded expectations. Look at the Solar news on Saudi and how much it means to them.
Their partner GTEK in Saudi Arabia - check out their stuff and what's been going on recently via twitter.
The Oasis is the best remote power product imo in the market place.
South Africa - hundreds of mining companies would find it invaluable. Talking to telecoms in Saudi and schools in Mexico.

Treacle32,
I wonder if we are now starting to see some corporate action with the global roll out of Akhter products.
It would seem that Silicon CPV has now changed its name to Akhter Solar Ltd
hTTp://people.bayt.com/en/company/akhter-solar-limited-hattar%2c-haripur-pakistan-formerly-silicon-cpv-plc-uk/#/company/akhter-solar-limited-hattar,-haripur-pakistan-formerly-silicon-cpv-plc-uk/
hTTps://www.facebook.com/pages/Akhter-Solar-Limited-Official/777449415612503
Meanwhile research shows the global ambitions of this company.
Clearly there is a huge void between the global company that it seeks to become and the tiny little 2 million pound company written off by the market.
Having now spent years developing the products, Akhter`s intention is clearly to become a global concern with the roll out of its products worldwide. Obviously to go from a market write off to a global concern is going to have a dramatic effect on the SP over the medium term but the greatest rate of SP appreciation should result from the initial signing of contracts.
It would seem that contract news could now be very close.

This schools contract in just Mexico could turn out massive. Could be nearer after passing of energy bill in July 2014. Never knew that even the pilot project would include over 100 schools. Talking to telecoms in Saudi Arabia and Mining companies in South Africa. Solar revolutions in all those countries. Host of new sales for Cognito and lots more.
Trading statement in Feb 2013.
"During 2012 the Company highlighted an exciting project in Mexico where it would be working with the Mexican Department of Education to supply approx. 200kw of power through a specially developed hybrid PV system to over 100 schools. This pilot scheme is still under evaluation by the Mexican government and the Company is ready to roll out its systems as soon as the contract is signed. Finally, should the pilot phases be successful there is the opportunity for a significant number of schools across Mexico to join the scheme".

Treacle32,
The problem with quoting 10p right now to all the long term holders is that this share has not done much for such a long time, that many find the concept of this company multiplying by 10 a little unbelievable and given the amount of years this company has stagnated you have to be understanding of that. That does not mean that this company`s day is not about to come however and that day all depends on contracts being signed, How many times have you looked in disbelief as a company`s shares have rocketed as a result of winning a contract and wished you had been in at the start. With UTN we are looking at a number of contract talks in different countries and these would probably leed to follow on contracts which would have a spectacular effect on the shareprice but the contracts need to be signed and you must forgive those who think its all not possible. Personally I find it harder to believe that things won`t happen because talks have been on going for some time and we appear to be on the cusp of some potentially transformational news for the following reasons.
The passing of the energy bill in Mexico will not only allow for the schools contracts but will also allow UTN to be involved in a host of other solar projects within the country. Mexico is very keen to push on with this so I expect news sooner rather than later and if not released with results then in the near term.
In Saudi the pilot project has exceeded expectations and we are now awaiting firm orders.
In South Africa the pilot scheme has been evaluated now for a year so again we now expect firm orders.
All these projects have now been properly evaluated by the different countries and it is now decision time.Contracts could be announed at any time in the near term and if they are as big as they could possibly be and thus transform UTN`s revenues then the market will re evaluated UTN but only after marking UTN`s shares up by a massive amount.
The good thing is that after all this time waiting for UTN to do something, I think that the time is near.
We will see.

Investors in UTN believe that UTN are never going to amount to much and that talk of 10p is all pye in the sky. The market decided that years ago and have wrote them off accordingly but things can and do change and like I say, the fact that the market have written these off will make the share price appreciation that much more spectacular.
People scoff and say yeah we have heard all this before and rightly want to see evidence first before pushing the shares ahead.
As I said before its all about getting these contracts signed off and therefore the difference between 1p and 10p is just a signature.
So is it going to happen? lets just take one example with the Saudi talks where the pilot project has exceeded expectation and follow on orders are to be expected. The market has not valued in any of the potential as yet and waits for the deals to be signed off. Ask many investors and they will be highly sceptical about the deal receiving a signature and yet we know that talks between the Saudi`s and UTN have been ongoing for a year. Is this going to come about? Take a read of the following article and see if you are still as convinced that this is a no no or could UTN pull the big one out of the bag with the first of what could be a number of signatures.
"Saudi Arabia is looking to offset diesel with off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) applications and hybrid solutions"
"Most significantly, Saudi Aramco and Saudi Electricity Company are discussing plans to replace as much as 300 MW of diesel generation in off-grid locations with solar PV."

The facts are there, UTN has gone global:
Manufacturing facility in Pakistan
Deployable Installation company/team in Spain
Regional Office in Saudi Arabia
Regional Office in South Africa
They are at first base with a Pilot project in saudi with more than a strong chance at repeat orders.
They have the potential of a contract with the Mexico and new business opportunities from the EXPO event they attended in Sept 13.
They have a supply contract in South Africa with mining companies showing interest in their produt line.
They only have to convert one of these opportunities to make a huge difference to the SP; its too late to gain an investment windfall once the news is released. At the current SP levels the biggest risk is not been a shareholder and part of something that has the potential to go north very quickly.

It has been my opinion for months now that there has been subtle buying of the stock placed on ISDX in a way that would not draw attention to the stock.
A stock like UTN can move very fast in the right circumstances and given the right news this could easily double or treble even before the market opens on the day of an announcement.
News could either come with results or in a seperate announcement like last year but you have to understand that even moderatly good news should result in a strong reaction with the shareprice, simply because the market has completly written this stock off as a company that will never make a decent return and any evidence to the contrary should be greeted by a strong rise.
Well that evidence has been shown on this BB over the last few weeks. Akhter`s plan is for global sales of his products and he has all the right contacts to do that. All we need are the signatures on the papers and this will be on its way to being a substantially bigger company than it is today with a corresponding multiple of todays shareprice.

The project team at Akhter delivered on time, provided competent and effective staff and solutions and overcame many obstacles, without incurring time delays, to provide what is now accepted as the first purpose built “all electronic courtroom” in the country.
Their service response, competency and capabilities have shown throughout and we would have no hesitation in recommending them for projects of this nature in the future.
