So cynic in your view what would be significant?.
markyman "where is the money coming from to extract it". Well seeing as you've stated the negatives(ie they only find gas) what about the possible positives, as Proselenes states over 10TCF and its well worth commercialising, add on finding oil lower down then it'l be the icing on the cake, Then funding won't be such a big problem, and who knows what the price of oil/gas will be if your timetable is correct, 2/3 years down the road before they start producing...But as they say "the oils/gas is not going anywhere...
PS as to your holding FOGL but only seeing the negatives, why the hell are you invested here?..

what's this about prostates? :-)
GB - i haven't a clue about gas ..... imho (yuk! hate that acronym), i think it would have to be almost of qatar-size to support any excitement ..... while LNG is certainly a power source of the future, most wells continue to flare it off, which gives you an idea of its commerciality.

cynic.
Have you not read the FOGL presentation ?????? I have posted in lots of times.
South Falklands 5 TCF recoverable is commercial for gas.
South Falklands 10 TCF recoverable is very attractive to develop - lots of profit.
Loligo is targetting 25 TCF recoverable on a P50 basis.
5 times larger than the minimum needed for commercial gas development.

As it says at the bottom, MINIMUM is 5 TCF.
Loligo is targetting P50 gas recoverable of 25 TCF..........

By the time FOGL gets to the production stage, the USA will be self-sufficient with regard to gas anyway, so the price will drop significantly.

look at the price of gas in the US PP is up to his usual ramping trick ....think of a number .... 10 trillion sounds good.

We could sell the Gas to the Argentinian at a premium.........Assuming there is gas of course!

The fact remains that this next well is very exciting !.....and the following one as well : it would be extremly odd if Sealion was a sole commercial discovery around the Falklands ; I believe that there are a lot more hydrocarbons to be discovered east of RKH's find.......a little bit of luck is needed here but there is also Scotia and Nimrod that provide good backup if this next well is unfortunately a duster....though I believe that something within commercial limits is going to be found .....gas or oil.....that seismic is special.....just have to hope it's not water...

Mr Prostate - as and when SFI proves commercial ANYTHING i shall be truly delighted ..... only a week or two back you were singing a similar loud anthem about BOR, and what a load of total crap that proved to be, though you subsequently tried to pretend that you had written no such rubbish ..... FOGL arguably has better prospects, but only time will tell

My belief is that there is commerciality in the Southern waters of the Falklands.
I also believe, that there will (is) hype building up........Papers are using words like;
• The Next North Sea
• Potentially the biggest find for many a year
• Share price could be this and that price
• Thousands could be millionaires overnight.
So, the share price is going to rise, that's for sure.......I am assuming no one has paid more than £1 per share.........As a minimum, the share will rise to beyond £1.50 per share that's during the drilling. I see this is where the skill will be with a canny trader, which we all are, albeit semi-skilled (which I am)………..Try to have your investment double, take ones original stake out…..Then there’s the gamble…….Is there Oil/Gas or not. That’s my strategy………Hope I am right? Good luck everyone.

Hey....I was nowhere near so loud as I have been promoting FOGL for some time now....I said Borders was a punt...it was.....the big difference is that I'm heavily invested in Falklands Oil and Gas !....I just think that oil will be found sooner or later here......the crazy thing is that I would almost prefer them to drill Scotia or Nimrod first before Loligo but this is the well they have chosen and it does look like there is something there....gas perhaps but oil might be present below the first targets,.....it's a risk for small investors like ourselves but then....the stockmarket is risky...if it comes right : you have earned it by jove !.....ooopppsss...perhaps Cinners rants were for Prosels....

RF - those who have no holding are always the loudest against the stock and the first to shout that people are ramping.
They normally try to hide this by saying "I have some FOGL".......... but they do not you can be sure of that.
Many people are waiting for the first rumours from the rig, or the first RNS of a discovery and then they will buy in.
Until then they will be saying bad things about the chances, saying they hold "some" (which they do not) and calling everyone positive who is holding a ramper.
They claim to have "some" so that if the news is good nobody can call them a fool for missing out on the big rise - and of course if its bad news they will claim the "some" was really just a couple of shares as it was all just a punt.
This is normal for life on the bulletin boards..................

you really do protest too much ..... as with far too many of your posts, the latest is based on pure supposition ...... further, what may be a modest number for some will be significant for another, and vice versa
much more to the point, though i still hold "some", i have no inferiority complex that demands that i put on a macho front by being desperate to claim that i even want to be in at basements levels, let alone with what i would call lunatic numbers .... indeed, those levels far too often prove to be a rotten ice-bridge over an abyss
