Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

Timing is not easy but a stock like BLNX is destined to fall. Tbby forgets to mention the timeline BLNX fell from 66 to 10 and there are others working on the same technology.

Clubby, you aren't by any chance a charter member of the flat earth society?
There credo runs something like this ----" Don't confuse me with the facts,my mind is already made up."

No only in the BNP & KKK

Haystack - 19 Jul 2010 13:24 - 1045 of 6187

This looks pretty risky to me. I can't see the profit needed to keep this up. It lost $8.5m in the latest year accounts and $8.9m the previous year. It look more like a .com bubble at the moment.

tabasco - 19 Jul 2010 13:29 - 1046 of 6187

Haystacksis the sat nav working?.I dont mind this dropmms triggering stops and traders deleveraging or forced selling after small gainsbeating each other up after betting long odds on for small gainsI hold a paper profit of a very small fortuneblnx position is only getting strongerand I am not bright enough to know when to do the Okey Cokey an SP rise is imminent with CHEAP being launched any dayand with some of the big boys eyeing this and AUT.. .wouldnt want to be out for more than ten minutesthere are going to be a few regrets by impatient traders
Pslet us have this conversation in a week or two

tabasco - 19 Jul 2010 13:46 - 1047 of 6187

BTW HaystacksCiti dont agree with you? :-

Citigroup raises Blinkx (BLNX.LN) price target, almost doubling it to 100p from 55p. Citi cites strong search volumes, steady monetization and high online video CPMs [impressions per 1000 page view]. These, combined with favorable forex moves drive the target . Citi says recent newsflow, including commentary on advertising from Google, the signing of new content deals and the creation of new distribution platforms reinforces Blinkx's value proposition and should drive growth/returns. Buy rating. Shares are +2.3% at 67p

Haystack - 19 Jul 2010 14:15 - 1048 of 6187

People keep saying that Citigroup says this and that.

What a surprise! Citigroup are their house broker.

Surely you are not gullible enought to believe a house broker. Who believes house broker reports. When did a house broker say sell?

Blackrock now below 5%.

chessplayer - 19 Jul 2010 14:26 - 1050 of 6187

Get your head out of the sand, man, and open your eyes.
The big growth in advertising is online, and that is where precisely much of Blinkx' revenue is going to come. The projections are huge.
The people who cannot see this have only themselves to blame.

cynic - 19 Jul 2010 14:32 - 1051 of 6187

spot on, but never ever confuse t/o with profit!

chessplayer - 19 Jul 2010 14:50 - 1052 of 6187

Don't you feel that the doubts about future profitability are receding fast.
One interesting point about the Black Rock sale referred to above is the price. They were sold on the 14th,when the price was 52p.they must have been kicking themselves when a couple of days later the price was over 1/3 more.

cynic - 19 Jul 2010 15:02 - 1053 of 6187

yes i do, but the comment is valid nevertheless as far too many peeps "confuse" the two

tabasco - 19 Jul 2010 15:12 - 1054 of 6187

HaystackI am also not gullible enough to think all those s on my trading accounts are a figment of my imaginationthey are for real matebut you play it your way

Blinkx, rose 12.25p to 65p . Analysts at Daniel Stewart issued a buy note, saying:
Blinkx has also developed a video app for the Android platform, which will be promoted via SamsungApps on its latest Galaxy S handset. Blinkx reports that the app, called , blinkx Beat, will be the only such video app to be featured in the SamsungApps offering, which comprises a playlist of the most popular videos available. Blinkx Beat will be made available globally via SamsungApps, whilst in the US the Galaxy S handset will be launched by Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.
In our view this is a highly-significant development for Blinkx on three fronts; it ratifies the suitability of Blinkx video search technology for mobiles; it ratifies applicability to the Android platform; it is well-timed for what is forecast to be a surge in mobile content delivery, with the associated opportunity for advertising.
