Earthport: Ready to fly (EPO)

jdubb - 04 Mar 2004 17:44

Some good news at last from this weeks Shares mag. Tim Freeborn revisits the company and altho no firm details are given about new deals he says they will be announced this quarter. I would think that this could be at the same time as the interim results are announced. I for one will be holding on cos they will fly sooner rather than later! ( 8.30% up today!)

A

Nice to see a positive investor!

I agree with Sharemess and Highride, i'd like Tim Freeborn to have the decency to pass comment on the current state of affairs, as i know he reads this thread. Afterall he was the reason many of us got into this share in the first place! Come on Tim, you owe us your view cos alot of investors are abit worried by way the price reacted to the interim results.

I for one am not too worried (i dont agree with all the doom merchants on ADVFN thread!)I still think the best is yet to come.

I'm sure the best is yet to come. But the last two months have been a little depressing, especially after wonderful January. (I'm referring to my Portfolio in general rather than EPO specifically).
Just seeing prices continue to drop, doesn't exactly get me excited or happy. I want to be happy. Also, I want to release some cash, but can't whilst in 'paper' loss!
Ssanebs, where's this news? They're sure not in a hurry to announce it are they?

Sharemess - 07 Apr 2004 21:30 - 106 of 706

But don't worry TimF - I didn't buy on your recommendation ! - been in since Feb 2001. Just looking for a view from you as in your profession you can more easily tell us if EPO is really the unusual beast others sometimes portray it to be. For example, did Rob Cunninghams' failure to join the board until now really matter ? Is the odd smattering of RNS's unusual when there are so many "tasters" of news leaking through from time to time. Are many of the AIM listed companies like this or are EPO different ?
Look forward to your views - even if I have to buy your magazine to read them !

ssanebs - 07 Apr 2004 23:37 - 107 of 706

TF will cover the story tomorrow, i am sure, including RC's failure to join the board(there is a valid reason). I am happy to hold the shares and think they are good value. The hong kong deal alone is worth twice EPO's current turnover at 6% take up, and TF must know details of the US deal hence his bullish stance. RC has confrmed to me the deal is done, and documents are being perused by the legal person, so should be out tomorrow or Friday if there are no hitches. Patience is definately required. I remeber buying reflec when TF tipped it at 3p, it did not move for months, i was just about to sell and it moved and ended up selling at 40p........the rest is history!

ssanebs

Sureley the news must come soon?

This rise is very nice, I'm in profit but the price will fall back if they don't get the news out by the end of next week.

Tell that legal bird to wet her ink and get on with it!

ssanebs - 08 Apr 2004 16:33 - 112 of 706

yes, i agree. she must be a slow reader

jdubb - 08 Apr 2004 18:11 - 113 of 706

Good old Mr Freeborn! Just when we were wondering if we'd ever see 3p again, up pops a nice Play of the Week! Such a shame that a truely unique company is soo often let down by such appalling PR! Hopefully those "T" trades today arent a sign of people selling out for the slightest price rise!

windys160 - 08 Apr 2004 23:07 - 114 of 706

where could we see this share going now, could it go beyond 4p maybe 5P :-)) we'll have to wait and see, hope you all have a great easter break and let's hope the us deal news is released next week :-)

jdubb - 10 Apr 2004 11:07 - 115 of 706

W160

I see it going no higher than 3.5p at present. This may only be a short term rise created by Tim's article. Until deals are announced on a more regular basis, lots of punters are waiting to have their confidence restored in this company.

Tim Freeborn once more praising this Earthport (EPO) in Shares this weekend interested me. I was also interested in his holdings of 1.2million shares, ie. approximately 30000 worth.

One of the things which puzzles me is how he will dump this holding if the share price drops by 25-50% per share, as the normal market size is said to be 25000 shares.
(Also in has a spread of 9% according to the summary, which expands to 15+% on the stockwatch screen, doesnt this make a punter very wary of holding too many of the shares. (I believe I have seen the spread reported as 30%.)

Does Tim have a tame market maker who will take this size holding off him in one deal or does he have to drop them in smaller bundles? If so what size?

I have a holding which in this company well above normal market size and have the associated worries.

jdubb - 10 Apr 2004 18:53 - 117 of 706

F1N

Dont worry about not being able to sell enough shares at one time. I have no idea where Shares get their info from (and for the record in the small cap results pages it says 100000 NMS) cos i can regularly buy or sell 250000 with Comdirect. I hold 3.5 mil and i am confident that selling a few will not be a problem as there will be plenty of people out there who will want them! Anyway im holding cos the fun's just about to start!

Markets were closed Friday :-)

The fun has started but we need news soon to keep it going.

Sharemess - 13 Apr 2004 15:42 - 119 of 706

ssanebs - the news is still not with us. What do you think ?

apple - 13 Apr 2004 15:46 - 120 of 706

Sharemess

Apart from ssanebs, what does Tim Freebourne think?

I would like to hear from him.

bosley - 13 Apr 2004 15:57 - 121 of 706

apple, tim freeborn gave his opion in his write up in shares mag. but it would be nice to hear him on this thread too.

bosley

I read it but I would like to hear from him on this thread too.

ssanebs - 13 Apr 2004 22:51 - 123 of 706

i will have to ring Mr RC again tomorrrow if there is no news. The delay is too long. His last coments were that as far as he was concerned the deal was done. As to comments on this thread by TF, keep asking as he told my brother he had read my posts, so he definately reads them. But i think he has said everything in his write-up.
