cynic - 05 Aug 2006 11:32 - 1045 of 2511

delighted to hear it candolim ..... experience must have shaken you to the core and hope it does not repeat itself

jameel06 - 05 Aug 2006 15:28 - 1046 of 2511

cynic, why is vog droppping continuously when other higher risk exploration stock was some rises on Friday!...... Surely the fundamentals have not changed and Im not bloody sure what the hell is happening.!!!!!!!1 You think its hity rock bottom and u buy to even your losses and then it falls and you buy again and it falls again.......

Could any1 tell me what the valuation of VOG is currently? Have the fundamentals really changed if they have then the drop is justified!? Views much welcomed

soul traders - 05 Aug 2006 16:18 - 1047 of 2511

Jameel, long time no see! I recommend you read the last couple of days' posts, as most of your questions seem to have been covered already.

Re the valuation, at some point in the last couple of weeks, somebody pointed out that the current SP just about offered fair value for Kemerkol and that we were essentially getting West Med for free. The fundamentals have not changed greatly as the wells that failed to produce only covered about 10% of the estimated resources at West Med. Given that WM is part of a highly prolific regioin and that VOG has plenty of prospects still left to drill that are actually more likely to produce than were the previous lot, the case ought to be better than ever for buying at these low levels. As with all E&P's, though, one should exercise caution as it is still a risky business.

VOG is likely to drift over the summer as punters will be taking their cash elsewhere until VOG can produce some good news. Still, as I have said before, that ought to provide believers like ourselves with plenty of buying opportunities :o)

WDIK, PDYOR, etc.

cynic - 05 Aug 2006 16:35 - 1048 of 2511

thanks soul* ..... saves me writing too ...... would only add, as i have already stated several times, do not be surprised to see sp drift for a further month or so as no news is expected until (i think) october

jameel06 - 05 Aug 2006 17:01 - 1049 of 2511

soultrader and cynic..... nice to hear from you boys.. to be honest suffering big losses and dont have the courage to spend time of discussion boards when I'm losing left right and centre especially when the wife is well aware of what is also happening. Nothing worse than having a bad day at the shares and going home to a wife who says......'I told you darling take that money out of shares and save it.....'

But you know what I think Im getting immune to these losses and have no choice but to go long term...I mean long long long long term!!! If you get my drift!

On another note I was participating on ADVFN....but not anymore... you have the worlds biggest jokers chatting about everything but the share in question!..

I am in EO. what another mistake! Although I think that I will see some positive movement by xmas when drilling in NOrth Sea ocmmences....purely a specuilative investment!...High risk and high level stupdity to invest too! A big mess! I need to listen to cynic and wait till the market stabilizes!!!! I guess patience is the name of the game!

lizard - 05 Aug 2006 17:05 - 1050 of 2511

cynic- i would never say that about any company. no news expected until october. news in my experience can come at anytime!. usually when you least expect it.

cynic - 05 Aug 2006 18:13 - 1051 of 2511

not my guesswork .... unless i am much mistaken it is what VOG have said themselves; just too lazy to check back

cynic - 06 Aug 2006 15:21 - 1052 of 2511

Well 103 ..... i may well have been wrong about the timing of news on this ...... extract below from RNS of 24/7

Well 103
Well 103 is located in the central part of the licence area and is targeting six
potential gas and gas condensate bearing intervals. These are in the lower
Neocomian, Achimov and Upper Jurassic horizons between depths of 3,200 - 3,880
metres. In their most recent resource volume statement independent reserve
auditors DeGolyer & MacNaughton ('D&M') report a best estimate gross prospective
resource volume for these intervals of 144 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Drilling has reached a depth of 3,090 metres and coring operations will now
commence as each of these intervals is intersected.

Perhaps time to buy a few? ...... but don't forget the last hole was a dud and there are never any promises in the world of exploration ..... given that there has been no news for the last couple of weeks, the cynical might think that this well too has not met expectations, let alone best hopes.

lizard - 06 Aug 2006 15:30 - 1053 of 2511

god you are a depressing poster cynic.

candolim - 06 Aug 2006 16:00 - 1054 of 2511

are any of you considering buying any more vog shares now they have dropped down to .71 level. the last two buys I have made have been 10,000 at .815p and 10,000 at 1.015. at present my shares I hold would have to go back up to 1.59 for me to break even. I am currently hold 67,500 shares. When I first started buying vog shares, I believed I was investing in the company. I now feel I am gambling. I feel now like I have been chasing my losses. ie. buying more shares each time they drop 10p etc per share. I may buy a few more, depending on how |I feel on the day. lets hear your views out there.

candolim - 06 Aug 2006 16:07 - 1055 of 2511

has anyone in the investors room sold all their holdings in vog, and cut there losses and ran, or are we all playing the waiting game. would be intering to know this. We need nerves of steel to sit this one out. You vever know this may all working out okay in the end. I had Jkx oil and gas 18 monthes ago or so I bought them at.90p per share they have been up to near on 4.50 near highest since. I came out at 2.20 per share. wrong move.

candolim - 06 Aug 2006 16:55 - 1056 of 2511

telegraph today sunday diary of a private investor - James Barlholomew buys some vog shares. Who is he?

jameel06 - 06 Aug 2006 18:03 - 1057 of 2511

candolim.... I am not a regular or even an experienced investor. But I have always found Cynics views very very interesting! He is very realistic and provides a great counter-balance to the biased views of shareholders.

I am going to hold!!!! I have to..... Yes its like chasing a losing battle...you buy and then b4 u know it, the sp falls again...so your continuously buying!..... but surely this was the same company which saw sp over 2.00! And yes we have had a dud well... but nothing else seems to change....

I want help on the following? As this is a company which has found oil and not oslely based on high ecploration risk (like eo.) so what is the value of VOG? I have had Soultrader answer this? But I would like to know the value of vog based on proven reserves! This is the fundamental question (proven reserves...not speculative)....? It seems that it is under valued! If so, then why shouldn't we be investing and waiting till the market corrects itself!!!!!

cynic - 06 Aug 2006 18:09 - 1058 of 2511

lizard ... sorry if my posts depress you .... personally i think they, and especially the last, give a fairly balanced view of the pros and cons.

candolim ..... i went 100% liquid a few weeks back but will prob buy some VOG, maybe tomorrow ..... have not yet determined how many ..... for yourself, my advice but your money is to stay only with what you have (and pray hard!)

skyhigh - 07 Aug 2006 07:16 - 1059 of 2511

Candolim.

Still in and holding... bought in at 2 on the way up and then at 1.74p on the way down !.. every time I think it's got so low I should but some more it then takes another dive ! so I'm still holding off getting any more as not sure that it won't go down further.

cynic - 07 Aug 2006 08:32 - 1060 of 2511

have reflected and bought a very modest number based on the fact that (a) i am not convinced 103 will bring home any bacon and (b) even if 103 comes good, there will be plenty of scope to buy further as investor confidence returns with 105 due for result in a month or two.

soul traders - 07 Aug 2006 11:10 - 1061 of 2511

Cynic, are you and I the only VOG shareholders who haven't mortgaged their house or handed over their daughters to a Ukrainian pimping racket in order to pay for this stock?

cynic - 07 Aug 2006 11:31 - 1062 of 2511

my daughter would, i am certain make an EXCELLENT price ..... what a good idea!

candolim - 07 Aug 2006 12:02 - 1063 of 2511

cynic post 158. I have had a good think about the situation and have decided now not to by any more shares in this company. I am going to keep the shares I hold. They are now all paid for. I do not now have the pressure of selling them and buying them back on t10 deals. The costs involved the the share buybacks were very expensive, taking into account the spread difference between selling them and buying them straight back. Then there is the .5 percent stamp duty and the dealing costs. Over the 2and a half months that this went on for the shares were constantly dropping all the time. I know I have remortgaged the house to pay the credit off, and now all I can hope for is that they go back up. I wiil now get myself into the situation again. I have a lot of shares in other companies as well, but vog by far have been my worst investment, I have made so far. I am going to keep all my company shares for now and hope most of them are going to recover in the future. I do not thing i am on my own in this situation. I know a lot of people will never tell anyone that this situation has happened to them. Anyway cynic thanks for your advice and I am now praying.

candolim - 07 Aug 2006 12:05 - 1064 of 2511

Cynic I made a mistate on my last message I pu I will now get myself into the situation again, what I meant to say was that I will never get myself in the same situation again.
