Morning all.

Its been raining hard here in Hastings this morning.

A couple of weeks ago someone told me that some of the water authorities were not telling the truth about the water situation in the south and in particular southern water, apparently the daily mail stated that Bewl water was nearly full contrary to what their public statements were saying. So last night on the way back from Sevenoaks we called into Bewl Water for a cup of tea and guess what....

Its not full but it is much higher than it was last year at this time.. There could be sensible reasons for this (southern may be deliberately keeping it full and user other water first) and I am certainly not suggesting that we should be wasting water but it does seem to me that we are not hearing the whole story.

Well all I can say is it is not as hot here this morning - YEAH!!!!
I was beginning to feel like a roast chicken that has been in the oven too long!

I just sneaked in for a quick lemonade at lunchtime since I was passing. Sorry I missed you last night Bunny, I had some urgent sleeping to do.

The red sea seems prominent again, I think I will just go back to sleep.

The basic problem is not that there is a drought (and of course there isn't, drought means something very different in every other country in the world) but that the reservoirs are not enough to take us through a summer even if full at the beginning of the summer. Not much point bemoaning lack of rain if the reservoirs are full and there would be nowhere to put it if it came down.
