Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Balerboy - 13 May 2010 16:48 - 1048 of 6294

best place to be till next week, better fish to fry else where.

HARRYCAT - 13 May 2010 17:33 - 1049 of 6294

Shares Mag actually says 'take profit but also continue to retain a holding.'

halifax - 13 May 2010 17:44 - 1050 of 6294

HARRY already done that we are betting on a good result next week.

cynic - 14 May 2010 07:59 - 1051 of 6294

this is quietly comforting .....

The Company announces that it has today received notification from Capital Research and Management Company that, as of 4 May 2010, it held 8,669,075 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), which currently represents 4.96
per cent. of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.

There can only be good news from now on...Buy

cynic - 14 May 2010 08:27 - 1053 of 6294

stupid boy .... this is at least as asinine as your similar comment on CHAR

I don't want to put a spanner in the works but a major discovery is already priced in...anything less and the sp will shoot back down...

cynic - 14 May 2010 08:40 - 1055 of 6294

is that true? .... certainly a "decent" discovery is priced in, but i would hazard that if the report concludes reserves of say 200mb+ then still plenty of upside - i think!

required field - 14 May 2010 08:45 - 1056 of 6294

Not so sure...that's what everbody hopes....a quick spike up followed by a 50p pullback could be the reaction....

cynic - 14 May 2010 08:47 - 1057 of 6294

qui sait? ..... certainly <170mb will see sp dump at least 60/70p and maybe as much as double that, but the odds are not looking that way .... as i mentioned before, this company has neither frank timis nor kevin foo at the helm!

required field - 14 May 2010 08:52 - 1058 of 6294

There will have to be some drop after or at the moment that rns comes out because FOGL is the next one....it will be august by the time ernest is spudded....without a full test that might happen, and they are not going to do that.....

cynic - 14 May 2010 08:56 - 1059 of 6294

if you mean a drop from current level, then absolutely not so if rns shows respectable/significant increase of reserves ..... if say 400mb confirmed, then expect sp to rocket ridiculously but to hold at say 350 or perhaps higher

required field - 14 May 2010 08:58 - 1060 of 6294

Hope so....but that is a long way up....

cynic - 14 May 2010 09:04 - 1061 of 6294

exactly so, but if the 600p valuation put on that level of reserves has some accuracy, then 350 is far from fanciful

hlyeo98 - 14 May 2010 10:58 - 1062 of 6294

Cynic, you are getting senile. CHAR and RKH are still strong buys to me.

halifax - 14 May 2010 11:21 - 1063 of 6294

can we expect RNS on monday, they said 7-10 days for lab report to become available?

HARRYCAT - 14 May 2010 12:11 - 1064 of 6294

I think the next RNS due in 7-10 days from the 10th may is to advise of the release of the rig. No date was set for the lab test results.

halifax - 14 May 2010 12:22 - 1065 of 6294

Harry how long does it take to test the oil in a lab?

HARRYCAT - 14 May 2010 12:30 - 1066 of 6294

I have been asking that question on this bb for a week now & nobody has been able to answer it.
