PIPEX COMMUNICATIONS - TIPPED FOR 2004 (PXC)

moneyman - 03 Jan 2004 20:03

Tipped by the independent 2/01/2004

........."And so to our traditional "wild card". Pipex Communications, formerly known as GX Networks, is a telecoms company created by one of the entrepreneurs behind Ukbetting, Peter Dubens. It has been assembled from six smaller players. The ambitious company is generating cash for the first time but is still not widely followed in the City. It could be an undiscovered gem".

jules99,

at the moment the T-Mobile deal is just talk - but pretty strong at that from what i can gather. could be worth a bit if it does go through.

That could take us up to the much mentioned 16p in a matter of hours!

mitzi - 13 Feb 2004 16:44 - 109 of 1874

Anybody hear of rumours/gossip about a take-over for Pipex...

Mack1705 - 13 Feb 2004 18:41 - 110 of 1874

I've seen it mentioned on Sharecrazy, Ample and ADVFN BBs in the last couple of hours...might make for an interesting open on mOnday!

overgrowth - 13 Feb 2004 19:53 - 111 of 1874

Wow it sounds as though punters will be falling over themselves to buy on Monday!

Question is do we go for a quick buck and risk letting them slip away as the price rockets or hold on relying on support at the current price (and the future potential that will remain unchanged) in case the rumour is nothing but hot air ?

skids - 13 Feb 2004 21:26 - 112 of 1874

I don't know about any take-over, but there is definitely a strong echo of T-Mobile and some sort of deal!

What to do ? As usual my problem is being at work during the day is not good in these situations, by the time i get any news it is 20 minutes late and I may not get to a PC for hours due to meetings. I think I would bank some of the profit to hedge. Hard one to call gents .... good luck and lets hope for a good start to the week.

German compeitior to Pipex posted a whopping 36.6 E profit on Thursday ! Internet providers just keep on reaping the rewards of a bubble in people wanting www access !

AdieH - 15 Feb 2004 09:50 - 116 of 1874

Lots n lots of postings on various bb about this possible take over, anyone got
any relastic target price if someone does approach is there a standard percentage that should be added to share if approach is made i.e. 25% to price at present. Just happy with any amount as got in sub 6p on two deals.....

Zul 187
from T mobile Website

T-Mobile is part of one of the largest mobile companies in the world. It is the UK network of T-Mobile International, one of the four strategic pillars of Deutsche Telekom AG. Deutsche Telekom's subsidiaries and affiliated companies serve over 80 million mobile customers worldwide. As well as the UK, it operates mobile companies in the USA, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, and Russia . This means great service, plus the backing of a truly global presence.

This has got to help.

Why WWW needn't mean world wide wait - February 2004
"2004 is the year of broadband. With the modernising government agenda providing the impetus for councils to deliver all their services electronically by 2005 and the Government's pledge to make broadband accessible to all by 2008, local authorities need to ensure that broadband is a key part of their e-government plans over the next year. Broadband can bring many benefits, to your workforce, to efficiency and to the service that you provide to your citizens." (The MJ, February 12th 2004: Why WWW needn't mean world wide wait, Ian Mckenzie asks why more councils aren't cottoning on to broadband.)

kandrews250 - 16 Feb 2004 19:11 - 120 of 1874

Some big sells mid afternoon with targets meet and profits taken, price held what will Tuesday bring?

Happy1 - 16 Feb 2004 20:02 - 121 of 1874

Kand why were they sells ? Why did the price rise ? Do you not think that the Institutions can negotiate special purchase prices ?

jules99 - 17 Feb 2004 15:22 - 122 of 1874

done well to stay at 12p buy level...the target of 12-16p is next level, but yet to surface...why are we waiting..WHHHYYYYYY..lol...sorry a bit of humour..!!

skyhigh - 17 Feb 2004 15:56 - 123 of 1874

Yes. It's all very faustrating ! Looks as though the price is being artificially held down, during a strong market day... Lets hope it breaks soon !:)

kandrews250 - 17 Feb 2004 18:47 - 124 of 1874

Happy not sure to any of those points, education would be great if you know the answers ?
