VOG is presently drilling Well 104 in its West Medvezhye field,and expected to reach depth in 4 weeks from spud date of 30th June, that makes 27th July(this week).
Results of testing will be sometime mid/late August, with a positive outcome
it could be HUGH.
With estimates of 134BILLION cubic metres of GAS and 201 Million barrels of Gas
Condensate,it will be a Company Maker. The field is in the area of the largest gas field in the WORLD.
Other assets include Kemerkol in Kazakhstan, with C1 reserves of 8.7MBO
and C2 reserves of7.8MBO. Another acquistion is Tamdykol with potental
reserves of 34MBO, it also has interest in 2 blocks in the North Sea.

It has excellent management team led by Kevin Foo, who hopes to turn it into
a Mid Cap Company(�500m+) in the not to distant future.

I should also mention the book is aimed towards commodity investing rather than equities, but some of the general "common sense" type rules he outlines are worth knowing and where possible sticking to.

Have been watching VOG for a while, with the intention of a possible investment. However, from a TA perspective I think the SP still has further to fall. Looks like good solid support at 50p, the downtrend is slowing and there is negative divergence on the MACD histogram. Only thing that will stop 50p is positive news and I for one will wait for that level and confirmation of a change of trend. If I miss the bottom, so be it.

Very sensible, PTH - I think that's the surest approach under current circumstances.

Strawbs and others ...... Mark Shipman's book is very good indeed, though he only deals in commodities of all types ...... I only got back inmto VOG vetry modestly on the basis that if it goes to ZERO I have not lost my shirt, and oif good news comes through in the meantime, i have a good though modest base to work from.

How much cash have they left? They raised £13m in December before expenses, so it will be less than that for the net figure. They spent approx £10m in the previous 6 months (cash burn rate of £1.6m per month). It has been nearly 7 1/2 months since then. That would be about £12.45m spent since the fund raising it they have the same cash burn rate as the previous 6 months. They had £3m cash at end Nov 2005 a month before the share placing. If they are burning cash at the same rate as last year then they should have about a month's cash left now.

The RNS last Friday was interesting in that regard.

Victoria Oil & Gas Plc ('Victoria' or 'the Company'), the oil and gas developer focused in the Former Soviet Union announces today that it has allotted conditional on admission 215,000 Ordinary Shares of 0.5 pence each in lieu of cash payment to advisers.

Haystack, you're right that more fundraising may be in the offing, although I'd consider that to be par for the course and it wouldn't put me off accumulating more shares.

The fact that they have allotted stock in lieu of a cash payment does not make me think that VOG is facing a crisis with its bankers, more that they have found an acceptable way of paying the bills, and that's fine by me.

I'm a bit surprised it's holding up at these levels albeit with a downside drift. I thought below 80 or 76 at least it wouldn't stop before 50p. Would any chartists care to enlighten me on what's sustaining the current price, e.g. Fib ratios etc.

BTW my last purchase was at 80.5 but I closed it out at 80 2 weeks later (fortunate to get such a price) when it failed to breach 90 as hoped. Wouldn't be comfy buying at these level with no apparent support.

Shocking how bad some of these cos have performed despite the oil price highs. Seems to me only DNX & VPC are performing and maybe Egdon?
