Another beaten up oil junior starting to bounce (CHAR)

kate bates - 02 Apr 2009 13:29

Don't like doing threads but have been alerted to this one as it trades well below cash position and allegedly has directorate links with the massive Petrobas. Last broker target was something like 165p - currently 26! The bates is in.

hyleo / mitzy - bounce? what bounce? ..... clunk!

required field - 24 Mar 2010 08:11 - 110 of 474

Well...I should have timed my exit a bit better...down again today and this will now slumber for months.....

mitzy - 24 Mar 2010 08:28 - 111 of 474

I'll buy more at 55p.

hlyeo98 - 24 Mar 2010 08:34 - 112 of 474

I'll buy loads at 50-55p if it get there which I highly doubt.

cynic - 24 Mar 2010 08:35 - 113 of 474

what about banking profits; you've (stupidly) already left it late, but better some than none

cynic - 24 Mar 2010 08:56 - 114 of 474

if you're mug enough, and clearly some are, then buying at 55 could easily become a reality before close of play - already down another 5.25p since last night and should now be possible to buy at 58p if order placed via broker

mitzy - 24 Mar 2010 09:00 - 115 of 474

I a long termer remember.

cynic - 24 Mar 2010 09:30 - 116 of 474

sorry, but a dumb answer ..... at the end of the day, shares are for making money - i.e. making and taking profits prudently ..... so far, you have thrown away about 25p of your 60p "profit" - >40% - which presupposes that your total holding averages out at 25p as you aver

mitzy - 24 Mar 2010 09:41 - 117 of 474

Too bad you mised the bounce..

cynic - 24 Mar 2010 09:59 - 118 of 474

more to the point, for i wouldn't touch these, is that you have still dumped 40% of your "profit" on a less-than-blue-sky amoeba company - too bad, to use your words

cynic - 24 Mar 2010 10:31 - 119 of 474

bearing in mind that this stock was unborrowable a few days ago, current bounce smells strongly of bear closing - banking profits! ..... sell into the bounce

mitzy - 24 Mar 2010 10:42 - 120 of 474

The winner takes it all..

cynic - 24 Mar 2010 10:55 - 121 of 474

or in your case, nothing at all if you don't act prudently and bank at least some profits - sorry, but your "strategy" of hanging on come hell or high water is deeply flawed

mitzy - 24 Mar 2010 10:58 - 122 of 474

winner takes it all

the loser standing small.

HARRYCAT - 24 Mar 2010 10:59 - 123 of 474

82p.

Balerboy - 24 Mar 2010 11:58 - 124 of 474

don't tell me cynic....winner takes it all......hot chocolate......stupid boy

cynic - 24 Mar 2010 12:04 - 125 of 474

but of course that one is indeed Abba!

Balerboy - 24 Mar 2010 12:09 - 126 of 474

google .. i do, i do, i do..

kimoldfield - 24 Mar 2010 12:25 - 127 of 474

I did, I did, I did. But I already knew it was ABBA ;o)

Balerboy - 24 Mar 2010 12:27 - 128 of 474

thank goodness......now i know cynic's lost it. He's been number crunching toooo long....maybe the full monty turned him????? :(((
