Socrates - 04 Aug 2006 17:30 - 10917 of 24230

Oh, what an ice bucket you have.

Why has Keaydian got his head stuck there?

Spaceman - 04 Aug 2006 23:47 - 10918 of 24230

Just back from Newmarket July Racecourse, we went to see Texas play but the ticket included the evening race meeting. Havnt been racing for years and we had a fun evening people watching and enjoying the atmosphere. I think there were about 6 races followed by the Texas concert.

Tempted to go again next week when it Jules Holland playing.

Good morning campers. Grey day here in the Wolds of Cot, nice and cool for a change. I have now decided it's cool enough to move back out of the fridge so I have used the opportunity to restock it with a lot of .............everything.

Some activity to come, Morrison's Grand Prix and the Waitrose Gold Cup.

optomistic - 05 Aug 2006 12:12 - 10920 of 24230

Two supermarkets Socco, you are in for a very exciting morning :-)

Socrates - 05 Aug 2006 15:36 - 10921 of 24230

Exciting?

I came 1st in the Waitrose Gold Cup and a close 2nd in the Morrison's Grand Prix. Whilst I was at it, I also had a go at the Cheltenham Cone Slalom and failed miserably, ended up doing an unintentional 3 mile detour.

Trip to the new ILVA store (sort of upmarket IKEA) at thurrock today, interesting they have some nice stuff. On the way home girlfriend announced that as we were close by we should go to Bluewater as well ;-(

so I went to the cinema and watched Miami Vice which was much more fun...

StonyB - 05 Aug 2006 18:42 - 10923 of 24230

Spaceman - I didn't have you down as a Texas fan. Bit too middle of the road for me. I saw them by default when I went to one of the Hyde Park concerts a month ago. They were on at the same time as the last England match, so the back half of the audience had their backs to the stage while they watched the match on a separate screen. (I thought of it as divine retribution for the Scottish attitude to the Ing-er-land team, although a bit hard on the band, I agree.) The audience only turned around after the penalties, in time for Texas's last number, when someone threw something - a shoe I think - at the demure Ms Spitieri. She stopped everything dead to have a go at the person responsible. She's got a fierce gob on her. I'd put my money on her against a fishwife any day.

Texas are playing the Arundel Festival on Aug 27th btw.

Spaceman - 05 Aug 2006 21:55 - 10924 of 24230

Hi StonyB not they are not the sort of thing I normally listen to but I think they are a pretty good pop group (note pop) and Sharlene has talent both as a writer and a singer, she was a bit pissed off yesterday as well, the audience took a while to get going and she was frustrated by it, I think she really need to audience with her to perform well.

Thanks for the Arundel tip.

Spaceman - 06 Aug 2006 11:36 - 10925 of 24230

stockbunny - 07 Aug 2006 12:09 - 10927 of 24230

Socrates - 07 Aug 2006 17:18 - 10928 of 24230
