Still Waiting - 25 Jul 2008 23:22

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

tabasco - 19 Jul 2010 20:31 - 1097 of 6187

Out of respect for you Cynic I will refrain from telling you to shut the fcuk upHaystack has been caught out as a fraudster trying to get punters to sell this stockI have warned the right holders on ADVFNand I find he has history all on here will now know his motiveshe is going to have one hell of a job tomorrow convincing anyone of his legitimacy or sincerity but he is paid to tryI dont have any problems giving him personal abusein the same manner he has no regrets in trying to con punters out of their hard earneda nasty bit of stuff

cynic - 19 Jul 2010 20:33 - 1098 of 6187

that doesn't make him a fraudster .... there are a great many posters on BBs who are only there to promote their own interests, but they are quickly spotted and outed

I don't need to convince anyone of anything. I have been posting on here since the day that this web site began and posted on ADVFN the day that it started and on ESI which preceeded them. Please feel free to post what you feel. I am pretty thick skinned and don't mind abuse at all.

ptholden - 19 Jul 2010 22:40 - 1102 of 6187

FWIW Tabasco, I have no doubt at all Haystack is not a paid deramper (if such a beast exists). Albeit, he does have a history of bashing certain stocks, usually of the high-tech variety, and usually, he is proven correct. Although it is somewhat annoying, there is no ulterior motive except to voice an opinion. As we both know, there is little value in creating a personal vendetta. Sit back and enjoy your profitable investment, just don't forget to take profits somewhere along the line :)

Haystack - 19 Jul 2010 23:30 - 1103 of 6187

I think there is some value in Blinkx, but not as much as many think. I suspect it will rise further, but I am sure it will have a very bad day or days at some stage. The trick is to either time it well or take some of the profits and gradually recoup the original investment plus some profits. That way you won't lose your house as quite a few did during the .com boom.

I learnt a very important lesson from some training that I did many years ago now. I have a feeling the person lecturing was Bullshare when he was still at ADVFN. The lesson is that when you sell a stock, you put the CGT in a separate bank account each time. Then it doesn't matter how often you trade stocks or even just one stock. I found that when the time came to pay the CGT, it was always much less than I had saved for it, due to losses mitigating against it. So there was quite a bit extra for me plus the interest earned on it.

hilary - 20 Jul 2010 08:06 - 1104 of 6187

I think this is an over-valued, over-hyped piece of jam-tomorrow trash whose share price has the potential to go to 90p solely on the basis that content sites can sell for 6 times TTR.

tabasco - 20 Jul 2010 08:24 - 1105 of 6187

Eloquently put Hilaryluckily I now own a Jam factoryI believe similar was written about the Doctor

cynic - 20 Jul 2010 08:38 - 1106 of 6187

if you can get hold of a copy, the last issue of Quantum Leap had a long article on BLNX and is worth reading ..... in a nutshell (sp was 33.5p when written), it was concluded as a very good buy with great potential but speculative nevertheless

hilary - 20 Jul 2010 08:38 - 1107 of 6187

Well make sure the jars are air-tight, Tabster, because you wouldn't want the jam to go mouldy before tomorrow.

tabasco - 20 Jul 2010 08:45 - 1108 of 6187

Hilarythe jars will be air-tighteverything I do is done correctly and with precision
As you believe this stock has the potential of a 30% rise from current valuationsit would seem logical for you to go search for the JamPear and ginger is our specialityMy advice fwiwonly ever invest in what you know so I would suggest give this the swerve!

cynic - 20 Jul 2010 08:46 - 1109 of 6187

well i know nuffink about anyfink, so am i not allowed to invest in anything at all?

Clubman3509 - 20 Jul 2010 08:58 - 1110 of 6187

Well back in depressing, dreary England, looks like Transelvania, gray, raining, people with sad faces, hoodies, dirty streets, fat ugly woman.

hilary - 20 Jul 2010 09:01 - 1111 of 6187

Actually, Tabster, I would be more inclined to "dis-invest" and short the pants off it on the basis that their balance sheet is dire, I doubt they'll ever make a profit, their news releases tend to be liberally spread with rocking horse poo, being second best to Faceache is worth naff-all. Couple with that, there's more chance of me flying to the moon than I believe there is of Google making a bid, and 6 x TTR would be a ludicrous valuation for them.

They're still in a clear uptrend though, so only a numpty would short them just yet except for scraps.

tabasco - 20 Jul 2010 09:03 - 1112 of 6187

Cynicif you know nuffinktell hilary and haystack.it would be the blind leading the blind leading the blind.
