Lambykins's Dutch Coffee House - ADULTS ONLY (LAMB)

CLOSED - THANKS to all customers for the last few years

Socs, that Wings and Things show is really nice, is a small strip but always has some nice aircraft, most fly in and land but some e.g. Sally B and the jets cant. This year they had 3 of my favorites, P-51 Mustangs flying from the strip. Beacuse its small you can get nice and close to the aircraft and the flying is close up.

And if your not into aircraft they always have a car and bike show as well along with those odd people that sit in a ring with very small steam and petrol engines that do nothing other than go chug chug chug, not forgetting the ones that pump water from a tank to a tap which runs into the tank etc.

I have been for about the last 10 years and its got better each time.

re P-51's I met one of my heroes Chuck Yeager a few years ago at a show in the US and later on the day he did a flying display in a P-51, he was still flying brilliantly and at the time I think he was 81, and he signed my book...

Good morning
Lots happening since my last visit. Looks like I will be quitting my job and going for the in contracting. Bit scarey after being an employee all my life, but exciting.

Hows everyone doing

optomistic - 09 Aug 2006 09:49 - 10934 of 24230

Morning Jeff, still a few of us around. Contracting, now that sounds like heavy duties, will require good stocks of the 'black magic' to rebuild the vitality.

stockbunny - 09 Aug 2006 09:53 - 10935 of 24230

Oh JeffMack - exciting stuff, I really hope it goes well for you :>)

optomistic - 09 Aug 2006 09:59 - 10936 of 24230

Jeff, how are you going to manage without all those hi tec lovelies to look after you :-)

Spaceman - 09 Aug 2006 13:18 - 10937 of 24230

Jeff, sounds fun, I have been contracting since 1988, the money is still OK but not as good as it was, still worthwhile though.

I dont think I would go back to permie work now, anyway no-one would want me!

Ok having seen The F Word last night, on the menu today we have home grown common-or-garden snails with garlic butter and salad, every bit as good as the French according to Mr Ramsey and I ain't argueing with him! So those of you who despair at the little horrors eating your plants now you know what to do! ;>)

Spaceman - 10 Aug 2006 16:24 - 10940 of 24230

No lunch for me today thanks bunny ;-)

stockbunny - 10 Aug 2006 16:31 - 10941 of 24230

Ohhh where's that pioneering spirit then Spacie!
Seriously I wont commit the poor things to a pot of boiling water, but I don't think Opto would think twice, purely in defence of his garden of course!

Kayak - 10 Aug 2006 17:19 - 10942 of 24230

Not sure I want to eat mine, after they've eaten the blue pellets they look a bit peeky!

stockbunny - 10 Aug 2006 17:27 - 10943 of 24230

Ah well according to Mr Ramsey you catch them, put them in a container, obviously with access to air and only give them a shower of water regularly for a few days, then feed them only on carrot and when their droppings are only orange in colour it shows their systems are clear of toxins and then safe to eat - that's the theory anyway! LOL

No thanks

stockbunny - 10 Aug 2006 17:51 - 10946 of 24230

Hey good to see you JM :>)

Big Al - 11 Aug 2006 02:36 - 10947 of 24230

This building work's a right pain. Just tripped over a bucket, made a double piked somersault and luckily bounced off one hammock to land in another.

Haven't even had a snifter either. ;-0

Spaceman - 11 Aug 2006 09:59 - 10948 of 24230

Al, you sounds as though you need a snifter after that ;-)

No Snails for me today thanks.

Jeff you made the decision on contracting yet?

KEAYDIAN - 11 Aug 2006 19:49 - 10949 of 24230

Crashes through the door, slight bit wet due to the rain, but in high spirits as it's Friday, talking of spirits, I'll have a large whisky.....What the hell make it the bottle.

Oh no one here, well I'll just help myself. Let's see:

Champagne
Whisky
Couple of bottles of Shiraz
That port is half empty, or is it half full, it's gone anyway.
And that pack of 24 beers.

Right if anybody wants me, I'll be over there (points) singing drinking songs.

Spaceman - 11 Aug 2006 21:40 - 10950 of 24230

Evening K, I was down you way last night went for an Indian at your local, bit of a pain parking round there isnt it ;-)
