THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

The higher up you are, the better it is to look down the cleavages of those dolly birds that flock round the cars and drivers.
OH yes, there is also the secondary benefit of also seeing more of the course.

Replace credit cards with debit cards , treble the car tax on school run 4x4 and urban owners of 4x4's.

Set up a state run bank for drug cartel's and anybody else who want to laundry their hot money.

Isaacs - 27 May 2011 12:43 - 10967 of 81564

Is it ok to own a 4x4 outside an urban area providing you don't use it for the school run? Just checking I am going to be safe in this new world.

Aldwickk,

How about 'eye candy' or is that also out.

Skinny,

Just watched the clip. Going straight out to buy a guitar and the sheet music. Will be busking in our local market tomorrow.
Will report back what I get.

Probably, a few pennies and 6 months.

Nice to see the PC brigade don't tend to rule on here.

Wild council spending under Labour.

How is this for a pathetic excuse. Cornwall Council said many of the spending figures it gave to The Daily Telegraph were inaccurate because they had not been converted from foreign currencies into sterling.

Man dies from severe burns in incident at lake

Published on Monday 30 May 2011 09:34

A MAN has died after suffering severe burns while in Delapre Abbey Park in Northampton.

Police and emergency medical helicopters were called to the lake near Ransome Road at 7.20pm on Friday.

A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital by land ambulance but died on arrival.

Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious and were conducting investigations on behalf of the coroner.

Comment:

I often go for a walk round this local lake and its vicinity. There is lovely short grass to sit on and big trees offering a bit of shade if it gets a bit hot.

Although there are notices discouraging it, placed there by the local water ski club who lease the lake for their water sports, it looks easy and inviting to swim in the lake too. There are the ski clubs old jetties to dive off and the water, where it's near to the edges can be seen to be clean and clear.

Obviously, it's quite popular and a great place to barbecue with one's friends and family because there are also picnic benches about too.

I wonder if this incident was also a 'petrol at the barbecue' incident and what happened was similar to the burn incident, which Mr Euro, a MAM user on this board, got himself involved in a few years ago?

E. coli outbreak in Germany: Women more affected

One of the mysteries about the outbreak of the particularly vicious strain of E. coli is that most of the victims have been women.

In most outbreaks, the victims are children because they have not developed the immune system to fight off the food poisoning - but in the German case, it is adults and female adults, in particular.

Scientists simply do not know why.

Penguin huddle secrets revealed with time lapse footage

The mystery of how penguins stay warm while they huddle has been revealed by an international team of scientists.

Emperor penguins survive the tough Antarctic winters by forming tightly packed clusters - but scientists have pondered how penguins on the outside stay as cosy as those in the centre.

Now time lapse video shows the birds move in almost imperceptible waves through the group, which over time drastically change its structure.
