Pace Micro (PIC)

drum - 27 Dec 2003 12:35

Is Pace Micro never going to rise above 65p?

profitmaker - 29 Sep 2004 17:13 - 11 of 70

Big markets in USA and Europe to tap. Last I heard they were looking to expand there. No updates. I'm a long time sufferer, bght at 125p. Can't see how the price will get up there again.

Strange spikes at the start of each day!

Are there errors each morning??????

hightech - 10 Nov 2004 15:57 - 13 of 70

It's trying to attract buyers/shorters.

MikeHardman - 10 Nov 2004 16:09 - 14 of 70

The 80p spikes are normal, just a feature of how the books/orders re-populate in the morning; rarely tradeable.

apple - 11 Nov 2004 11:50 - 15 of 70

MikeHardman

What does that mean?

Anyway, it is not normal.

If it were normal then it would happen to the charts of all other shares but it doesn't.

MikeHardman - 11 Nov 2004 13:46 - 16 of 70

apple..

It used to happen in LGEN for a while, about 4 years ago as I recall.

It happens when an order significantly off the more normal mid-price is stuck in the books for a while (can be months). When the books repopulate in the morning, if that order is not undercut by another one much nearer the mid-price, it will seem to distort the price. Depending on how the orders happen to come in, the mid-price (as you see on your chart) might happen to be the same as that 80p order -- if it is the only order on the books. That will be only temporary, and may have been corrected by the time the books open at 8am.

The pseudo-spike would only be tradeable if there was a bid price was up near it, but that's rarely the case. eg. on 9nov04, it opened at 53/80p.
The current 80p offer in the books has been there since 1nov04 (I take it you do have Level2).

The behaviour is normal in principle, with any stock; the amount of distortion obviously depends on the particular price discrepancy, and hence may or may not look abnormal depending on personal outlook.

PIC can be traded on fleeting abnormalities, however. Last year I manage to scalp 400 net profit in 15 seconds from one of those. It was also a question of luck, because IGIndex (I did it on a spread bet) happened to be performing extremely quickly at the time.

Hmmm

Oakapples142 - 22 Dec 2004 16:18 - 19 of 70

Hello hightech - I havn`t had any PIC for a while but am interested in what is the meaning of your "Hmmm"

hightech - 22 Dec 2004 22:29 - 20 of 70

HY is better than expected (over 100% growth in sale.. etc). FY is expected to be lower... But it can change in the next six month. They are predicting the growth in the second half to be lower than the first half etc.

All IMO. I hold the shares,... Do your own research.. blablabla

Oakapples142 - 23 Dec 2004 15:22 - 21 of 70

I never really understand/accept the fact that to-day there are nearly 10 times the recorded buys versus sells and the SP drops

daves dazzlers - 24 Dec 2004 15:27 - 22 of 70

Dabbled today on pic at just under 41,lets hope i get a good signal!!

Andy - 27 Dec 2004 18:02 - 23 of 70

A friend at work hold PIC from around 500p!

he refuses to sell and accept the loss, so continues to hold, and relies on me to keep a check on the price for him.

I was a little surprised to see the 41p comment above!

So I checked the chart, and it looks pretty awful IMHO.

hampi_man - 28 Dec 2004 09:20 - 24 of 70

At least PIC was mentioned in the Shares magazine as a potential recovery share, I will probably have a punt in the new year, will continue to watch from the sidelines.

Oakapples142 - 29 Dec 2004 09:01 - 25 of 70

Here we go again - majority buying and down she goes. Any guess on the bottom as this one would rise to 60p on any good news. Do you remember when it was over 900p ? I made profits in July and November and should do so again.

hightech - 29 Dec 2004 12:37 - 26 of 70

It can do the same ...

daves dazzlers - 10 Jan 2005 08:06 - 27 of 70

Seems where safe,never in doubt!!

Oakapples142 - 10 Jan 2005 08:59 - 28 of 70

What a PICk - my third time in profit with this one - should I hold on - think so I see 65p by end of week.

Oakapples142 - 11 Jan 2005 09:49 - 29 of 70

OK so what are the MMs up to - yet again many more buys than sells and the SP drops - rather like PXC for more months than I care to remember. Any theories ?

hightech - 18 Jan 2005 00:04 - 30 of 70

German PayTV company to be listed in the market tomorrow. This may represent that German market is more active than predicted by Pace.
