Good evening one and all. Shock, horror! Someone wants to buy HOF for 148p a share when I bought the IPO at 180p. That's not much of a gain is it?

Still, I've a few discounts and divis out of it so overall not lost anything, may never happen of course.

I feel like cooking again, how about Quiche Lorraine?

optomistic - 22 Aug 2006 20:58 - 11040 of 24230

Hello Socco,
HOF, that sounds like one of my type of trades.
Who's Lorraine, not met her is she nice?

Socrates - 22 Aug 2006 21:34 - 11041 of 24230

Hi Opto, HOF wasn't exactly a trade. I bought it in 1996 I think it was. when it was an IPO at 180p. Since then had lots of discount vouchers and divis which made it worthwhile holding. It always irks me when a share gets bought out at less than the original price. Still, as I said, it's not happened yet. I understand there may be another bidder in the wings, but that is only BB chat so there may be no substance in it.

Lorraine? Luton airport, in'it!

A friend of ours is thinking of kicking off a 'speed dating agency'.

I'm sure you know the sort of thing? Everyone meets up at the location at the appointed time, the bell rings, two minutes chat then move on to someone else, throw your car keys in if you're interested (Sorry, wrong thing. Anyhow, whatever)....

Here's the nub. What should she call it?

stockbunny - 23 Aug 2006 14:20 - 11053 of 24230

If this is a serious question - Meet A Soul Mate
If this is a joke - P,P,P, Pick up A Wally

Spaceman - 24 Aug 2006 11:18 - 11054 of 24230

Morning from a wet Sevenoaks, Mrs Spaceman spend much of yesterday afternoon moving snails from our garden as it was being landscaped with a digger.

She estimates she saved about 100 along with 18 frogs and 2 newts, the newts and frogs have been taken to a new home with Brian next door and they seem happy near his pond.

Bunny shall we send the snails up to you ;-)
