Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Plateman,
Same as you. This will be my last post on this thread until I see that no one is replying to him.
To all who have made sensible contributions, I would like to say how much I have enjoyed the many debates (and funnies) on here.
regards to all (except you know who) Greek.

Come on then you pundits, who would you vote in? Can you honestly say there is anybody out there who inspires, I think not.

And as for the ranters and ravers I just ignore it. Just go to the Lloyds stream to see an example of ranting, how the ceo sleeps at night with those burning ears lord knows. We also know that if you gather a group of people together there will always be the "kill em all " and the "burn the blighters" lot, mixed in with the "oo!! I dont know I am keeping out of it" But a small percentage think outside the box, look at the other persons point of view, decide what the other party wants to achieve, These are the deal makers, the peace bringers, Which are you??

" If you want to see some real abusive and attacking stuff, that needs something doing about it, just take a peep at the postings of In The Land of the B made to Haystacks on the Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA) thread. "
And who started that thread ?

Fred
I don't think you understand the problem. Your post about Cameron is a good example. Because of your political leanings and your wish to say anything damaging to the present government you suggested that Cameron is a lighweight as regards education even suggesting that he didn't deserve his place at Oxford or his First Class degree in PPE. This is a very silly attitude. Harold Wilson also obtained a First at Oxford in PPE. Are you suggesting that he is more worthy than Cameron because Cameron has family money? You even bought up the prospect of buying his degree.
It is constant posts like that that bring you involvement in these threads into disrepute,

I don't think Fred should be banned either. Maybe Fred should consider what he posts from time to time. It is the constant ranting that gets so wearing.

Actually I also don't think he should be banned. Squelched by everyone maybe but not banned. Bit surprised if really Hilary left just because of Fred rather than just squelching him. Something there doesn't add up.

Several weeks ago I started writing a post about MAM, but never posted it. I've added to it in the light of what's happened this week, but this is the gist of it:
Whats the future for MoneyAM?
Ive heard various people comment over the last year or two that they thought MoneyAM was dying, the threads werent active enough, and the Traders thread was simply a collection of people saying Morning to each other. Ive tried to blot this out and believed they were wrong, but Im starting to come to the same conclusion. Why?
First of all, where is the innovation? The site is essentially much the same as it was when it was first started. I know new associated sites have been developed, including the charting facility, Financialappointments.com and now Stockmarketwire.com (although this sounds vaguely familiar - is it a takeover and revamp?). But all these sites seem to be is essentially a rehash of the same information. There are other sites such as iii which have more sophisticated tools, all free.
There was a big drop in the ARM share price a few weeks ago, and the MoneyAM comment was just that they had dropped. On Twitter I found out that it was because Intel were announcing they could make a chip with the processors arranged in 3D, but not a mention of this on MoneyAM.
I have much more up to date information on Twitter, both from the s/bet companies and from other investors / traders. This is a serious threat to the viability of MAM imho.
I now use my smartphone almost as much as my PC, and enjoy websites that are designed to cope with mobile devices. All that we have from MAM is an app for the iPhone, and it costs 24 a month including the VAT - almost as much as an iPhone contract. Theres no support for iPads, Windows mobile and Android devices. It may be that the development costs are too great, but I find opening MAM in a normal browser on my phone is an unbelievable pain.
The thing about Fred and his constant wind ups is a real pain - he makes stupid posts and finds them amusing, but they are just designed to wind everyone up. Much as I would love him to leave, I dont think he should be banned either.
I enjoy the virtual company that MAM brings me, and have made several friends, some of whom I have met and others not, and have learnt a lot from them, but I really do feel that MAM is dying, and needs a real rethink to survive.

I doubt that MAM is dying. The BB is not only part of their business and as a business my guess is that it is doing fine. Running a BB is a nice facilty but I doubt that it is central in any way to MAM's business model. I do agree that the BB could be spruced up a bit.
The problem is that if you have a wildly successful BB than it will almost certainly degenerate into another ADVFN, which is a bear pit. With such a beast you either have to have a 'hands off' approach as ADVFN do or a large amount of moderation which is not practical.
The size and activity of the present BB is probably manageable. I doubt that MAM have any ambitions for a bigger BB as it brings its own problems. A slightly more vibrant BB would be nice. Perhaps we could have a thread on that subject.

Interesting, more tolerance shown than perhaps I expected.
Moneyam is quiet, but I doubt it due to my postings, and reviewing many threads one will find abuse is being freely thrown around. I doubt that many, who seem to think it reasonable to be abusive on a bulletin board thread, would have the temerity to do the same in more public actual place.
I think the site is quieter, due to the difficult market, the depressed market and seemingly directionless market. (Perhaps, why some are so touchy.)
Many are standing on the bye lines feeling it is too dangerous to be involved, although there may be some who can trade positively in such choppy waters.

Aids,
If I had been a purchaser in a chemist before you were born, I would have bought your father a condom.
Missed opportunity!

That was a silly statement full of if's. IF you new my father , IF you were a purchaser in a chemist , IF you new me before i was born ......
Maybe it was Fred's attempt at being witty , such as calling me Aid's , as i said before your wit is as sharp as a rubber ball.
ps Try Aldick , you can have that one on me.

Why give up your enjoyment of a chat on this board. Just ignore the person that gets on your nerves. At the end of the day you don't have to read what they have written.
Suppose I am puzzled.

OK. Said I would not post till etc etc, but as I obviously looked in to see the response to my previous post I must say this.
I agree F*** should not be banned, as he has not as far as I can see broken any rules. The only reason I said I will not post until etc etc is that I just can't be bothered to wade through all the F*** reply posts, surely that is easy to understand. I squelched him long ago, but I don't wish to squelch all those who reply to him, as many of those often post none F*** reply post on many other subjects.
So yes, will still look in at least now and then to see if the thread improves, but that is all.
