Socrates - 18 Sep 2006 16:57 - 11235 of 24230

Hi all. Dull old day hereabouts.

Question: Is my idea of fun Jeffmack shopping all day in Cheltenham? Answers on a postcard to:....

Spacie. Off again amassing those air miles. What exactly is it that you do, apart from criss-cross the world, that is?

Spaceman - 18 Sep 2006 20:35 - 11236 of 24230

Hi Socs, I dont do anything interesting....

I am a Project manager working on IT infrastructure projects for a large oil company (but I an self employed contractor), there told you it wasnt interesting. It might seem as though I travel a lot but its not that much really, this year has been more than normal, although I admit I do make and excessive number of trips to cloggyland.

Socrates - 18 Sep 2006 21:45 - 11237 of 24230

I'm sure you are quite good at it and enjoy it really Spacie, you mustn't Shell yourself short!

Spaceman - 19 Sep 2006 15:35 - 11238 of 24230

Socrates - 20 Sep 2006 16:51 - 11240 of 24230

Is it edible?

Watch out for Gordon, going to be a bit blustery.

MightyMicro - 20 Sep 2006 20:31 - 11241 of 24230

Gordon? Is that Ramsay, Brown or hurricane? If it's blustery, my money's on Brown.

jeffmack - 21 Sep 2006 16:05 - 11242 of 24230

Ha Ha, hils, you never let me down. Thats my eldest son, he always outfishes me.

What you up to these days gal?

This_is_me - 22 Sep 2006 09:44 - 11243 of 24230

There is a new 'windfall' tax on any fish caught in the North Sea over 1lb. It is also subject to gift tax if given away and if not eaten landfill tax. If given away it will be treated as a potentially exempt transfer. If to be eaten it must be tested by the Dept of Agriculture and Fisheries (and the fee paid) for coliforms and other pollutants. If it passes it will be stamped as being fit for human consumption(stamp duty payable), but if it fails the owner will be responsible for its proper disposal as hazardous waste by a licensed waste disposal company at the owner's expense.

Spaceman - 22 Sep 2006 13:30 - 11244 of 24230

Thanks for that TIM ;-)

Just had the strange experience of watching the One Oclock news and seeing a friend of mine being interviewed about Solar B!

Socrates - 23 Sep 2006 06:43 - 11245 of 24230

Good morning one and all, Socco up with the lark to take 'her-indoors' to catch a chara' to the big city. Not even light yet, be interesting to find out how (if) the lights on the old beamer work!

TIM
I find it difficult to believe that there are fish in the North Sea that weigh over a pound.

Spaceman - 23 Sep 2006 08:09 - 11246 of 24230

Morning Socs, not quiet so bright and early for me but I have been given my tasks for the day:
1) Get Haircut
2) Collect dry cleaning
3) Drive to Norwich - 178 Miles door to door
4) Cut mothers grass - Over 1 Acre !

Socrates - 23 Sep 2006 10:29 - 11247 of 24230

Spacie
Call me lazy if you like but I would be looking at other solutions to your tasks.

1. Haircut, find a bright young thing who does home visit hairdressing.
2. Dry Cleaning - Consult yellow pages and find dry cleaner that collects/delivers.
3. Norwich - Hire helicopter & pilot.
4. Cut Grass - Rent grass out to sheep farmer.

jeffmack - 25 Sep 2006 11:40 - 11248 of 24230

Good morning
Looking forward to 2 weeks off before I start my new job. Feels stange leaving my old place after 14 years.
Where's the cook, I'd like tea and cake please

stockbunny - 25 Sep 2006 12:04 - 11249 of 24230

Sorry Jeffie - you know how it is can't get the staff ;>)
Tea and cake, on its way that's if you haven't left already!

jeffmack - 25 Sep 2006 12:11 - 11250 of 24230

I'm still here. I'm one of the idle for a couple of weeks, like yourself :-)

This_is_me - 25 Sep 2006 12:23 - 11251 of 24230

Idle?! I thought you were married! Expect to be fixing things, shopping re-decorating, gardening etc.

I remember the first time, a few months after we were married, that I told the wife that I was going to be on holiday. Half an hour later I asked her what she was doing with a clip board. She was going around the house making a list of things that she wanted done.
