Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Sounds like overramping.....anyway .....bought a few more....still kicking myself for selling too early .....hoping for a general recovery in the markets....porfolio looks like a bloodbath at the moment....

as i work with CFDs, i prudently, though not prudently enough, sold a lot of stuff yesterday inc some of these ...... bought a portion of them back cheaper this morning and am almost tempted to take a few more, though that may be dicing with death

presumably no guaranteed stop so you are wide open to a sp plunge.

guaranteed stops are usually very expensive and are often only pemitted well below what warrants, if that makes sense
at least i was wise enough over the last 12/18 months to physically remove money (profits) from the arena, rather than build a larger and larger pot in the market

IG won't do a guaranteed stop for RKH or any Falkland oilies at the moment, guaranteed stops cost generally around 1% which is far from expensive when you consider the protection they afford on volatile shares.

bet it's more than that for spivvy stocks

Comment: As a reminder, the pre-drill P50 for the Sea Lion prospect was some 170MMbbl within a wide range of 58-472MMbbl.

prior to sealion, i think rkh and its ilk would have fallen into that category, and certainly CHAR et al

why is everyone so quiet today? ..... shell shock? ..... anyway, it's good to see some decent recovery here and on what looks like good volume ..... i guess fingers x'ed all round to see if USA is at least stable today
