Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Sounds like overramping.....anyway .....bought a few more....still kicking myself for selling too early .....hoping for a general recovery in the markets....porfolio looks like a bloodbath at the moment....

9 chances out of 10 that it is a commercial success...

kimoldfield - 20 May 2010 09:39 - 1131 of 6294

C'mon, let's be positive! It's going to be a huge success..............isn't it? ;o)

Well, I couldn't resist a top up.

Proselenes - 20 May 2010 13:55 - 1132 of 6294

I have averaged up a few times :)

cynic - 20 May 2010 15:57 - 1133 of 6294

as i work with CFDs, i prudently, though not prudently enough, sold a lot of stuff yesterday inc some of these ...... bought a portion of them back cheaper this morning and am almost tempted to take a few more, though that may be dicing with death

One of the few bright spots in a poor market.

presumably no guaranteed stop so you are wide open to a sp plunge.

cynic - 20 May 2010 16:08 - 1136 of 6294

guaranteed stops are usually very expensive and are often only pemitted well below what warrants, if that makes sense
at least i was wise enough over the last 12/18 months to physically remove money (profits) from the arena, rather than build a larger and larger pot in the market

halifax - 20 May 2010 16:30 - 1137 of 6294

IG won't do a guaranteed stop for RKH or any Falkland oilies at the moment, guaranteed stops cost generally around 1% which is far from expensive when you consider the protection they afford on volatile shares.

cynic - 20 May 2010 21:41 - 1138 of 6294

bet it's more than that for spivvy stocks

halifax - 20 May 2010 22:03 - 1139 of 6294

cynic define spivy stocks.

Comment: As a reminder, the pre-drill P50 for the Sea Lion prospect was some 170MMbbl within a wide range of 58-472MMbbl.

RKH are bullish.

cynic - 21 May 2010 07:05 - 1141 of 6294

prior to sealion, i think rkh and its ilk would have fallen into that category, and certainly CHAR et al

cynic - 21 May 2010 10:03 - 1142 of 6294

why is everyone so quiet today? ..... shell shock? ..... anyway, it's good to see some decent recovery here and on what looks like good volume ..... i guess fingers x'ed all round to see if USA is at least stable today

HARRYCAT - 21 May 2010 10:16 - 1143 of 6294

Another tiny dilution:
"The Company announces that, following the exercise of options granted by the company to a former director by a deed of grant dated 8 August 2005, it has issued 200,000 new ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at an exercise price of 42p per share.

Application has been made for the admission of 200,000 new Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM. It is expected that admission will become effective and that dealings will commence on 27 May 2010. On admission, the Company will have 175,184,954 Ordinary Shares in issue"

kimoldfield - 21 May 2010 11:07 - 1144 of 6294

Mmm, who's a lucky former director then?!

Proselenes - 21 May 2010 12:34 - 1145 of 6294

cynic, nothing more to say.

The proof is in the pudding, and all those nasty comments from the past weeks might soon be reposted and stuffed down the derampers mouths...... roll on June eh... :)

cynic - 21 May 2010 12:40 - 1146 of 6294

wouldn't mind fast-forwarding a year ..... never mind RKH et al, but we might also have an idea whether or no we shall all be dressing in sackcloth and ashes

halifax - 21 May 2010 13:15 - 1147 of 6294

cynic cheer up it's friday!

cynic - 21 May 2010 13:17 - 1148 of 6294
