Lambykins's Dutch Coffee House - ADULTS ONLY (LAMB)

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2005 23:56

CLOSED - THANKS to all customers for the last few years

KEAYDIAN - 09 Oct 2006 08:58 - 11364 of 24230

Large coffee and scrambled egg on toast please over here on table 9, plenty of brown sauce as well.

Socrates - 09 Oct 2006 08:59 - 11365 of 24230

OK, so I've had a look at my portfolio and actually made some money whilst I was away! I think I'll go away again. On the strength of that I'll have a FEB, with extra bacon (and no snails).

Socrates - 09 Oct 2006 08:59 - 11366 of 24230

Brown sauce on table is a bit on the messy side, isn't it K?

KEAYDIAN - 09 Oct 2006 09:03 - 11367 of 24230

Table cleared, found the sauce.

Eggs nice and fluffy please.

Socrates - 09 Oct 2006 09:07 - 11368 of 24230

Fluffy eggs coming up, nice and hot too. Not like in my hotel in Lyon, their fluffy eggs were luke warm at best, and that's a 5* hotel too, Just goes to show...........

Good traffic jams in Lyon, 1H20 to go less than a mile (should that be in kilometres)?

hilary - 09 Oct 2006 09:19 - 11369 of 24230

Lyon's a permanent traffic nightmare imo, Old Socs. We give it a wide berth.

If we're going to the Alps, we turn left at Macon (it's also about the best place to stop and load up with Chablis) nowadays. Towards Bourg-en-Bresse, then Annecy and Albertville. If we're going to the Med, we go straight down the middle to Clermont-Ferrand. It's a much quieter road.

Spaceman - 09 Oct 2006 09:21 - 11370 of 24230

Morning from a pleasant Norwich no rain but no sun either at the moment.

Socs, I have also found my trading improves greatly when I am not involved in it, having realised this I stopped completely expecting the money to flood into my bank account, but it didnt!

I am not sure what fluffy eggs are but I use scrambled egg as a standard test for the quality of hotels, I like them to be fairly solid and yellowish, i hate the stuff thats white and creamy and also the stuff with a green tinge (what causes that).

Maybe we could get Delia into the Coffee shop to do a scrambled egg masterclass for us.

Socs, by the way did you translate from Kms to Miles? or was it just a guess ;-) sounjds like you should have walked.

Socrates - 09 Oct 2006 09:31 - 11371 of 24230

Spacie
Miles taken from the speedo. Walked it later, in a few minutes. The French don't have a clue about traffic management, but the cars can move surprisingly quickly when there is a tram bearing down on them.

KEAYDIAN - 09 Oct 2006 11:52 - 11373 of 24230

Em...How's those eggs coming along?

Socrates - 09 Oct 2006 12:05 - 11374 of 24230

Coming along? You've had your share already so I guess you're suffering from memory loss, senior moment? I'll make some more if you are still hungry.

KEAYDIAN - 09 Oct 2006 12:34 - 11375 of 24230

Eyes bigger than my tummy tum tum.

stockbunny - 09 Oct 2006 12:50 - 11376 of 24230

Morning All :>)
I'm in for a quick tuna sarnie and a bag of crisps!

KEAYDIAN - 09 Oct 2006 12:52 - 11377 of 24230

I recommend the eggs.

stockbunny - 09 Oct 2006 12:59 - 11378 of 24230

Thanks K but not in the mood for eggs today, mind you that means more for you as that looks like a mega sized portion of scambled eggs! ;>)

Socrates - 09 Oct 2006 13:24 - 11379 of 24230

Crossword clue from an old copy of the times :

G.E.S.G (9,4)

hilary - 09 Oct 2006 13:28 - 11380 of 24230

Looks like scrambled eggs to me.

Socrates - 09 Oct 2006 13:33 - 11381 of 24230

Quite right Hilary. The answer either comes to you immediately or you spend hours trying to work it out. I figured it immediately after a RAF colleague had spent all day wracking his brain over it. He went potty when I told him almost as soon as he showed it to me, saying it was an impossible clue. He didn't speak to me for a week after that.

Such is life.

KEAYDIAN - 09 Oct 2006 14:27 - 11382 of 24230

Brown sauce?

Socrates - 09 Oct 2006 15:12 - 11383 of 24230

Sorry Keaydian, we don't discuss politics on this thread.
