As far as hating the Cons. when I was young, the answer is no.

My sister was a member of the young conservatives. Some of her friends were very attractive. Learnt a lot.

Don't hate the cons, dislike some for themselves, their elitism and ideological stances and values.

Also, dislike the move to short termism to appease the mob behind them.


I have a liking for some of the thinking moderates in previous tory administrations, while not necessary agreeing with all their policies or the manner they implemented their policies.

Had and still have a few tory friends, but I have outlived a lot of them.

But, they were prepared to have their views challenged without reacting as if they themselves were being threatened.

I don't mind having a Labour muppet.

It is better than being a muppet. How does it feel?

For information, I have never been a labour party voter, although I have certain attachment to some of their basic values and the intention of the ideological thinking.

It is the method of achieving those ideals, which present problems to me.

At the momenr, one of the problems, I can see is that "self interest" is lorded and acceptable to the tory party, even when it and its policies disproportionally disenfranchise a less able group within society.

The values of "Loads of dough", comes to mind!

However, I recognise that many of the fractions, within the members of the "labour" party, wish to implement policies out of self interest and sometimes self advancement, but to a less blatant degree as is apparent in the present tory ideologues.

Again, what sticks out to me is the posturing of the present "caring" government. For me, it is the most hypocritical and shallow government I can remember (I have a long memory.)

I think that its results of many of its policies will lead to increasing fragmentation of society, i.e into "us and them mentality", which has potential dangers.

(My guess is that the public will not tolerate the obviously increasing inequalities in society. Previous generations may have prepared to accept the differences, but due to changes in communications and the media leading to increased awareness of larger groups of society, the present generations will not be as tolerant. May be wrong, but I did write guess.)
