Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

wouldn't mind fast-forwarding a year ..... never mind RKH et al, but we might also have an idea whether or no we shall all be dressing in sackcloth and ashes

cynic cheer up it's friday!

cynic - 21 May 2010 13:17 - 1148 of 6294

might do if i wasn't stuck in kiev at this conference ..... don't get out until sunday, and kiev is certainly not milan!

HARRYCAT - 21 May 2010 13:52 - 1149 of 6294

Not sure Milan is that great. Congested, grubby, high crime rate & expensive. Many much nicer italian cities (though Milan is centre for Expo's/Conferences). Not been to Kiev, so can't compare.
1 week (+/-) to go until good (?) news. Might have a week in Provence on the profits (or Lowestoft depending on results).

avsec - 21 May 2010 13:53 - 1150 of 6294

A mental picture of Cynic in a kiev....rofl!

Deepest, darkest Somerset has blue skies and 26* C!

cynic - 21 May 2010 13:55 - 1151 of 6294

think you're talking about kiev ..... where in provence?

HARRYCAT - 21 May 2010 13:59 - 1152 of 6294

Starting Avignon via Les Baux de Provence, St Remy en Provence. A kind of round trip, maybe on a bicycle, depending on weather.

avsec, not the Bernard Matthews variety. Nowhere to put the stuffing! ;o)

cynic - 21 May 2010 14:00 - 1153 of 6294

blackdown - 21 May 2010 14:15 - 1154 of 6294

Last time I was in Kiev it was minus 19C.

HARRYCAT - 21 May 2010 15:11 - 1155 of 6294

That's the same temperature as my freezer! Still on the chicken theme?

cynic - 21 May 2010 15:16 - 1156 of 6294

HARRY - i know that area really well ..... wonderful walking in les alpilles, but don't think i'ld fancy cycling there; too much like hard work! ..... my own cycling trip this year is in loire between angers and tours; out on north bank and back on south .... last year was beaujolais

mitzy - 21 May 2010 15:49 - 1157 of 6294

halifax - 21 May 2010 16:35 - 1161 of 6294

cynic maybe some information leaking from the rig!

avsec - 21 May 2010 17:07 - 1162 of 6294

Harry
Heading for that neck of the woods in the Healey after Le Mans Classic - wonderful countryside!
A good day all round for the S. Atlantic but, after BP, I'm worried about anything leaking from the rig!

HARRYCAT - 21 May 2010 18:19 - 1163 of 6294

avsec, used to have a Triumph Spitfire which was great for touring but the British Leyland build quality got the better of it! Enjoy Le Mans. 2.0 or 3.0 litre Healey?

Proselenes - 22 May 2010 01:24 - 1164 of 6294

I would not get too excited, looks to me like the shorts have decided to close out more of their positions given the US markets rising and also we are now 8 to 13 days away from the big news.

So it does not look at all like news is coming, it looks like those who shorts and with shorts on their books are closing and filling ahead of some very exciting times where, come the first or second week of June, the Oriel estimate of 600p a share based on 170M might get raised to 1550p a share on an in the ground basis, based on a find of circa 400M recoverable.

Keep on holding and adding and remember, very soon the Ernest prospect is going to be drilled, a very high CoS prospect that has had CSEM done on it. That drill should boost RKH far higher again........
