VOG is presently drilling Well 104 in its West Medvezhye field,and expected to reach depth in 4 weeks from spud date of 30th June, that makes 27th July(this week).
Results of testing will be sometime mid/late August, with a positive outcome
it could be HUGH.
With estimates of 134BILLION cubic metres of GAS and 201 Million barrels of Gas
Condensate,it will be a Company Maker. The field is in the area of the largest gas field in the WORLD.
Other assets include Kemerkol in Kazakhstan, with C1 reserves of 8.7MBO
and C2 reserves of7.8MBO. Another acquistion is Tamdykol with potental
reserves of 34MBO, it also has interest in 2 blocks in the North Sea.

It has excellent management team led by Kevin Foo, who hopes to turn it into
a Mid Cap Company(�500m+) in the not to distant future.

Strong start this morning. as Order book at the L2 is also much firmer at the bid side.

Breaking out from the downtrend last month

sinvestor- when an sp falls by such a margin it is logical and normal for a bounce hopefully not a dead one. not getting me going.

I am back in these at 73, but for all that, i cannot see any good reason for the current strength other than general speculation ..... VOG badly needs some good and "proper" news - e.g. good drilling result and certainly not just some speculative acquisition (if that is even true)

If they pick up a producing asset, maybe some ex Yukos plot, that could fund the drilling programs elsewhere. I suppose VOG can't actually confirm any acquisition rumours though, as that would "tip off" others. I'd imagine they'd need to place loads of shares to get the money though, so that might appear in an RNS before any acquisition announcement. In my opinion anyway.....

If I was selling an asset to VOG in return for shares, I'd make it a condition of the deal that 103 results were out before the deal went through.

Up 7p so far this morning - that makes for quite a healthy bounce in the last couple of weeks!

Yep, I agree this has a bit of a risky feel about it. Surely there should be time to get in after they announce drilling success at West Med. I still have my "lower end" holding at average 85p, so content to stick for the time being.

the risk, other than the fact that this sort of share is inherently risky, is that there is no obvious reason for the recent recovery, nor much volume ..... in a way, the latter is no bad thing, for it means the lemmings are not (yet) piling in, but i guess that arguably there could be some sort of price manipulation to allow VOG to acquire some other asset for shares

vog going up fas for no apparent reason is something happening that we do not know about. I am formerly candolim.

well i've decided these are a trading stock so just nabbed +14pts for 7 day move. I expect they'll break 1 now that I'm out :o(

Regular automatic buys going through at 95.5p, but nothing bigger than 10k.

Bonfield you have probably done the right move, I still have my 67,500 share and am stiil sitting on a huge loss, I have been watching the share quite closely over the last week or so and the pattern is they go up a lot through the day and fall back at the end of the day, so you may be able to buy them back later. I am tempted now to start trading a percentge of these share now, and take the book loss gradually. I think doing it this way I will get back to normal sooner rather than later. bonfield did you manage to buy back in yesterday. I did not sell any. I could have sold 10,000 that I bought yesterday morning at 93.00 at 1.00 and could have bought them back later at.96.5 but I did not. I will maybe trade the ten thousand today if they hit 1.00 to sell again. best of luck to you.

Sorry can anybody tell me why VOG keeps going up when there seems tobe far more people selling than buying?
