NIGHTHAWK 6 BAGGER ON DEBUT. (HAWK)

oilyrag - 12 Mar 2007 07:10

Pre IPO price 4p
Opening price on debut 25p
Floatation price 46p to raise 14million to extend Jolly Ranch
Current fair value estimate 114p
Market cap 70.59 million.
Value of Cisco Springs investments 98 million.
Value of Vogel investments 75 million.
Desparado trucking now Nightfox 250,000 for a 50% stake with partner Running Foxes.
Centurion Project Kansas, 150,000 for a 50% stake.
Jolly Ranch Colorado, 40,000 acres cost 356,000 for a 50% stake.
Cash in bank 7.75 million.

As this EPIC opens on AIM today anything could happen. On the one hand you have traders trying to cash in a sixfold profit. You will also have a clambering of traders after shares because, firstly they could only get 75% of their allocation because of demand. Secondly at 25p this company is still way under valued.

cynic, HAWK like all companies stands to see the sp affected by it's own situation, it's just daft to go comparing it to anything else, never mind completely different sectors! (what ARE you on?)

We had to run the gauntlet of intentional negativity on bulletin board over the failed SS deal, even though that has turned to be to our longer term benefit imho. Then we had the placing, necessary but a pain for the sp over that period.

But now we move forward debt-free and fully financed, with quite simply the best outlook in the sector, again imho. The next 12 months will be OUR year at last, when all the expectations will come true.

cynic - 13 Oct 2009 07:59 - 1163 of 1373

for goodness sake! ..... the whole thing was merely done from personal idle curiosity and interest in response to a throw-away comment from marni about the "brilliant" performance of HAWK

gnashlevel2 - 13 Oct 2009 09:11 - 1164 of 1373

okay, tbh I posted before I read your clarification.

cynic - 13 Oct 2009 10:18 - 1165 of 1373

independent today: 'Another constituent with an interesting future is Nighthawk Energy. Shares of the US-focused oil and gas explorer and producer have been volatile this year with bear raiders on the prowl. There are now signs that short-sellers are retreating with the shares looking a little firmer.

With three share placings raising a total of 34.4m in less than a year it is, perhaps, not surprising that Nighthawk has a contingent of weak shareholders. The cash was needed for oil and gas developments and the balance sheet is now much stronger with around 20m in the bank.

The latest results could represent a new beginning, but shareholders are no strangers to false dawns. Still, with costs cut and production increasing, the yearly loss was reduced by 42 per cent to around 1.25m. With output likely to advance significantly from a range of energy prospects, there is a strong chance that the current year will show a break-even position, perhaps even a profit.

Observers believe the shares are dramatically underpriced. Stockbroker Hanson Westhouse has a 225p valuation and Growth Equities & Company Research is looking at 227p. I will be content if the shares hit their earlier peak of 116p. The portfolio paid 44p.'

Think I will buy Monday

blueface - 19 Oct 2009 11:53 - 1169 of 1373

Did everyone see the fabulous article in the Investors Chronicle on friday--page 43 about Nighthawk--a whole page devoted to the company with a BUY recommendation guys!

cynic - 19 Oct 2009 12:45 - 1170 of 1373

for all that, market seemingly just yawned disinterestedly

kuzemko - 19 Oct 2009 20:44 - 1171 of 1373

no such word"disinterestedly"
disinterested- means impartial or personal feelings
did you mean uninterested???

cynic - 19 Oct 2009 20:56 - 1172 of 1373

disinterested is just as apposite - i.e. the market had no particular feeling one way or another - aka impartial ..... but yes, uninterested would/could have applied equally .... happy now? .... and of course there is such a word as disinterestedly - it's the adverb!

Loik the Irish moight soay : when youay have hadd a point or two....dooes oit matterr ?

cynic - 20 Oct 2009 07:27 - 1174 of 1373

on reflection, a disinterested observer might observe that uninterestedly would have been more accurate, though it would not have provoked this interesting discussion!

gnashlevel2 - 26 Oct 2009 12:42 - 1175 of 1373

Any AGM'ers from here?
I'm attending, I think this will be a corker of an AGM, maybe kill two birds and see a bit of London too.

gnashlevel2 - 27 Oct 2009 15:10 - 1176 of 1373

Christ, nobody? all the sandwiches for me then!

cynic - 27 Oct 2009 15:19 - 1177 of 1373

they'ld better be laced with ganja so the reporters will start hallucinating great things for this company!

halifax - 27 Oct 2009 16:22 - 1178 of 1373

cynic are they producing any oil or gas, if so how much?

cynic - 27 Oct 2009 16:24 - 1179 of 1373

about a jerrycan a day but allegedly certain analysts are giving it the big hype of being worth 250 or thereabouts ..... more seriously, it has lots of wells in a proven oil-bearing site in USA, none of which produce a great deal, but the sum is slowly building ..... currently perhaps 5,000 bpd

no spaceship VLCCs required for this one!

halifax - 27 Oct 2009 16:29 - 1180 of 1373

Are you saying potential production of 5000 bopd justifies a market cap of 130m?

cynic - 27 Oct 2009 16:43 - 1181 of 1373

5,000 is now ...... and no i'm not .... but read post 1167, which gives you more info
