PIPEX COMMUNICATIONS - TIPPED FOR 2004 (PXC)

moneyman - 03 Jan 2004 20:03

Tipped by the independent 2/01/2004

........."And so to our traditional "wild card". Pipex Communications, formerly known as GX Networks, is a telecoms company created by one of the entrepreneurs behind Ukbetting, Peter Dubens. It has been assembled from six smaller players. The ambitious company is generating cash for the first time but is still not widely followed in the City. It could be an undiscovered gem".

from T mobile Website

T-Mobile is part of one of the largest mobile companies in the world. It is the UK network of T-Mobile International, one of the four strategic pillars of Deutsche Telekom AG. Deutsche Telekom's subsidiaries and affiliated companies serve over 80 million mobile customers worldwide. As well as the UK, it operates mobile companies in the USA, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, and Russia . This means great service, plus the backing of a truly global presence.

Troys - 16 Feb 2004 12:14 - 119 of 1874

This has got to help.

Why WWW needn't mean world wide wait - February 2004
"2004 is the year of broadband. With the modernising government agenda providing the impetus for councils to deliver all their services electronically by 2005 and the Government's pledge to make broadband accessible to all by 2008, local authorities need to ensure that broadband is a key part of their e-government plans over the next year. Broadband can bring many benefits, to your workforce, to efficiency and to the service that you provide to your citizens." (The MJ, February 12th 2004: Why WWW needn't mean world wide wait, Ian Mckenzie asks why more councils aren't cottoning on to broadband.)

Some big sells mid afternoon with targets meet and profits taken, price held what will Tuesday bring?

Happy1 - 16 Feb 2004 20:02 - 121 of 1874

Kand why were they sells ? Why did the price rise ? Do you not think that the Institutions can negotiate special purchase prices ?

jules99 - 17 Feb 2004 15:22 - 122 of 1874

done well to stay at 12p buy level...the target of 12-16p is next level, but yet to surface...why are we waiting..WHHHYYYYYY..lol...sorry a bit of humour..!!

skyhigh - 17 Feb 2004 15:56 - 123 of 1874

Yes. It's all very faustrating ! Looks as though the price is being artificially held down, during a strong market day... Lets hope it breaks soon !:)

kandrews250 - 17 Feb 2004 18:47 - 124 of 1874

Happy not sure to any of those points, education would be great if you know the answers ?

Happy1 - 17 Feb 2004 20:38 - 125 of 1874

My take and also commented by skyhigh

Seems to be held back whilst institutions fill their boots at 11.75 or less.Having watched this stock we saw consolidation around the 8p level with numerous mid price trades going through the system. We then had the explosion upwards towards 11p.

Seems as though history may be repeating itself !

As an aside note I have seen institutions buy at bid price previously so don't look at everything in black and white.

kandrews250 - 18 Feb 2004 20:42 - 128 of 1874

Happy - thanks for the info, never thought of looking at it that way.Lets hope the break is a good one when it goes.

Orange Blob - 19 Feb 2004 17:29 - 129 of 1874

Some serious buys showing now after 5pm.

Ready for next push forward tomorrow!

overgrowth - 19 Feb 2004 21:28 - 130 of 1874

Looking good for tomorrow - there was knocking on for 1,000,000 in those end of day buys (provided none were roll-overs).

Is this the start of the rise before the deal ?

Happy1 - 19 Feb 2004 22:16 - 131 of 1874

Pipex at an award ceremony tonight !

jules99 - 20 Feb 2004 09:42 - 132 of 1874

pushed up slightly...0.25p...could see a surge before close like last time...

12-16p -the next push...

skyhigh - 20 Feb 2004 09:59 - 133 of 1874

Good stuff.. Looks good ! Hope you're right about the 16p push

Anyone know how the awards went last night ? Did Pipex win anything ?

Jackie Pearse - 20 Feb 2004 11:01 - 134 of 1874

Unfortunately they where nominated in 3 categories but didn't win anything. The 3 nominations are great in their own right, shows experience in more than field.

skyhigh - 20 Feb 2004 11:18 - 135 of 1874

Thanks Jackie. Good information. Hopefully though, the share price will continue to rise steadily until the results come out in a few months time. Maybe we'll get some positive news flow soon also.

Happy1 - 20 Feb 2004 23:15 - 136 of 1874

As they said on another board they will test the water for sells at 12p and then revert back with people happy to take the lower price. They fill the institutional orders and then move the price up.

Sit tight and add as the big boys do.They know the price is cheap as chips.
