Spaceman - 08 Nov 2006 11:33 - 11794 of 24230

Morning all, wet and windy in NY today.

Any chance of scrambeled Eggs on toast (white bread) with a little bit of pepper and a nice pot of tea?

So who locked the door then ????

optomistic - 08 Nov 2006 11:36 - 11795 of 24230

It got stuck with the damp!
Keep it quiet, toasted WHITE bread with scrambled eggs coming up. Always with tea :-)

Spaceman - 08 Nov 2006 11:59 - 11796 of 24230

Hello again, grey and murky here in wolds of Cot today. Must be time for a snack, I fancy some of my home-made corned beef hash. Anyone got any corned beef I can cook up?

Spaceman - 08 Nov 2006 23:26 - 11799 of 24230

Its been raining hard all day here, I would guess more than an inch in the last 24 hours however across the country in Washinton state they had over 8 Inches of rain in 24 hours !

We spend most of the day indoors ;-) in shops and at the cinema (saw The Departed excellent).

Spaceman - 09 Nov 2006 12:08 - 11800 of 24230

Morning from NY City, dull and grey here but at least it isnt raining!

Today is our last day in the city, this afternoon we will be getting a train to Huntington on Long Island to spend a few days staying with a friend before we fly back on Sunday evening.

Coffee shop has been very quiet today, any chance of a Danish and a cuppa?

stockbunny - 09 Nov 2006 12:28 - 11801 of 24230

No probs Spacie - sorry been hoovering like a maniac this morning but will rustle up a danish and a cuppa for you :>)

Spaceman - 09 Nov 2006 12:37 - 11802 of 24230

excellent thanks bunny......

The sun has just appeared over the East River, our room is on the 31st floor, its strange because is calm and relaxed up here when down at ground level its madness ;-)

We had a great example of the NY attitude regarding customers "The customer is always wrong" ordered 2 cups of coffee the server produced one, when Mrs S asked for the other one the woman said she had only ordered one and made a big fuss about us changing our mind, had it been me I would have waited until she had served the second cup and then I would made a point of telling her that yes indeed we had got it wrong and we had meant to order none and I would have left ! However Mrs S is much kinder tham me ;-)

KEAYDIAN - 09 Nov 2006 12:55 - 11803 of 24230

;O). I'll have to remember that one Spaceman.

Ham & Mustard sandwich anybody?

Socrates - 09 Nov 2006 17:04 - 11805 of 24230

jeffmack - 10 Nov 2006 08:19 - 11806 of 24230

Beautiful day here in Paris. Been sitting in a meeting room next to the Seine with a great view of the Eiffel Tower. At least I can look at the view while they all babble away in French.

Spaceman - 10 Nov 2006 11:47 - 11807 of 24230

Jeff sounds lovely, our London office is similar and overlooks Big Ben and the London Eye, bit distracting when I am meant to be concentrating ;-)

How is the new job going.

Bright and sunny day here in CentrePort Long Island as well.

jeffmack - 10 Nov 2006 12:49 - 11808 of 24230

Tim
Going ok, just looking forward to getting paid. Cashflow is a problem first couple of months.

Was hoping to get sent to NY on the project but not looking likely now.

Socrates - 10 Nov 2006 16:42 - 11809 of 24230

Hello all. All you busy contractors/consultants jetting around the world makes me quite weary. I think I may have to retire early. At least its the week-end again and I can think about haviong a rest. Only think about it though, her-indoors has made sure I have plenty to do.
