One to have a look at. Bought in myself first thing. LOG Logica.

Seems to be a bit of false data on the chart but its still a breakot from the chart pattern.

goldfinger - 10 Mar 2010 13:59 - 120 of 3532

Restaurant Group RTN might be worth a closer look having broken out of a ascending continuation triangle. Looks to have positive volume and secondary indicators.........

Target price 240p based on longer term trend channel upwards.

Welcome back.

Interesting charts.

Will try posting a few shortly, but part of my computer setup is ill at the moment.

Stan - 10 Mar 2010 16:10 - 122 of 3532

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BATS&S

This went Ex divi today (paying over 3% or 71.3p).

Closed last night at 2306p and has been as low as 2211p today.

Now back on the climb at 2335p, and in one of the safest sectors on the fts.

Fred1new - 10 Mar 2010 16:19 - 123 of 3532

Stan, Thanks I will have careful watch.

Stan - 10 Mar 2010 16:28 - 124 of 3532

Fred, not sure why the chart line is not showing in an upward direction, but the SP in the red box is spot on. There's still about a 3% gain in it I reckon at least. good luck.

goldfinger - 11 Mar 2010 14:41 - 125 of 3532

Nice one Stan.

looks like its on the very base of an upward trend channel finding support and now bouncing off.

goldfinger - 11 Mar 2010 14:45 - 126 of 3532

Coal Of Africa cza one for the watch list I reckon at the moment awaiting a return to the 20 day EMA. Could be a good trading opportunity then and a target of the top of the ceiling of the rising trend channel at approx 170p. Or maybe a breakout through the top of the channel.

goldfinger - 11 Mar 2010 14:53 - 127 of 3532

Fred hope to see you back soon.

Ive added your Zig Zag chart method in the header, hope thats OK. Let me know if you dont agree. cheers GF.

ps, will try and enter some resource items in the header for users of the thread.

Went long of a few Yule Cato YULC this morning. Good news on a disposal but the chart as also looked positive for a few days.

yule%20catto%202.JPG

Trades on a miserly forward P/E of just 7.4 to end of dec 2011....way too cheap imho.

Fundies broker report looked interesting on Computacenter (below) ccc so I checked out the chart and bought a few this morning seeing the SP was in the red and had fallen since results (good time to buy i reckon if results were good, just a few days later).

Chart looks pretty solid with uptrend channel in place.

PRU - see relevant thread
i was a bit slow off the mark and only went short this morning at 532, but this has sentiment (downwards!) behind it, and for sure the markets are due for a shakeout in the none too distant future.
that shakeout may happen either when FTSE hits 5760/5770 or after the budget or when it dawns on everyone that "shit brown" will still be in office after the election - sorry to say, but it is almost impossible for this labour majority to be o'turned in a single election.

halifax - 16 Mar 2010 13:32 - 131 of 3532

cynic you obviously don't take the Daily Express!

Fred1new - 16 Mar 2010 13:33 - 132 of 3532

Will post again,

But the stocks I am looking at all seem to have positive trends and negative indicators, or the reverse.

Start to feel positive and then feel doomeddddddd.

I have a few share bets at the moment TW. and BBY. I live in hope

I noticed that some postings are smaller capitalism shares or aim.

The problem I have with these is spreads and lack of Share bets possibilities.

cynic - 16 Mar 2010 13:56 - 133 of 3532

and what did that erstwhile supporter of capital punishment have to say about PRU? .... buy, no doubt

goldfinger - 16 Mar 2010 16:46 - 134 of 3532

ahhhhhhhh yes fred the spread on small caps makes spreadbetting that little harder.

I tend to position size myself to the downside on the smaller caps so that I dont start off with such a large deficit position.

Using IG index at the moment.

hoping to be back up to full speed by next week but the cheltenham racing is stopping me at the moment
