Hi all
pretty new to all this. I have pumped some into Deltex - looks like a strong product with good growth. Could be a steady gainer.
Does anyone else have this, and anyone have some research on it? Someone with more experience than me!
thanks in advance.

Thanks skyhigh. I'd like to be back in, and am prepared to pay a little for my lack of faith last week. Just trying to play the game to the limit, wanting the best price. Also my canine ego would swell with uncontrollable pride if I was totally vindicated and the SP fell to its next support level (12p??) - only for the 60 seconds it would take me to get my buy in, then up again to new heights, of course.
Let's hope the doctors can persuade the politicians to tell the adminstrators to . . .

I got out early this morning at 19.12p but will be back if it drops to 16.5p.
Furthermore I have off loaded two other "health" stocks which have been giving me stress.

DEMG is on my watchlist, providing DEMG'smoney doesn't run out before some deals this is a good buying price but I'm waiting for now. Plenty of chance to get in below 20p when the time is right.

I have been reflecting on the following passage from the results:
Developments at these twenty hospitals since 31 December 2004 are:
* A partial order has been received from one hospital, with the balance
deferred until the hospital's new financial year.
* The internal business case has been approved at two hospitals and we have
been informed that the orders are pending.
* Local audits are underway in respect of three hospitals, with all feedback
to date being positive; sales orders are contingent on the results of these
audits.
* We are awaiting initial orders from three hospitals who have agreed to
purchase initial monitors and to undertake local audits with a view to then
acquiring further monitors.
* Proposals for local audits using loaned equipment are under discussion
with four hospitals.
* Business cases submitted to senior managers at four hospitals have been
very well received, but no final decision has yet been taken.
* Recently introduced total bans on any new expenditure have stalled
progress at two hospitals.
* Progress at one hospital has been delayed pending publication later in
2005 of the results of a clinical trial of the CardioQ in bowel surgery,
which are expected to be highly supportive.
From this it seems clear that the completion of a local audit process is a key prerequisite to any sales. As I am totally ignorant of local audits I am wondering whether anyone has any useful information on their duration?
Thanks, Madison

My question on this paragraph was - Does each line refer to different hospitals? I hope they're not double counting. The use of Englsih is not so clear as it might be.

Good point. But it does add up to twenty.

Yes, but look at the very first line: "Developments at these twenty hospitals are..."
They're explicitly stating that there are twenty hospitals.
I was lucky. I got in recently at 19.5p. I might buy more, dependent on getting some more cash.

You're quite right Arf Dysg - I missed that.

So, Tom Bulford of RHPSG recommends sell in this evening's email update - mainly on account of same old promises still remaining unfulfilled - can't go on blaiming NHS, perhaps there is another common factor at work. Time to move on, having bough near the peak and, with exquisite timing, sold at the very lowest possible price. Then, to add insult to injury, I averaged down and lost some more. A sad dent in the shiny wing of my porschetfolio, I'm afraid.
But an older, wiser dog.

This is cool ! some good news at last..There's still a long way to go.. but it's a start.
What's important now is the rate of more orders coming through. Need to get some more in during April, after the the new financial yr starts.. then we could be motoring.
LONDON (AFX) - Deltex Medical ticked up 1-1/2 pence to 20-1/4 following the announcement of a new order for eight Cardio Q monitors from the Birmingham Heartlands and Solihull NHS Trust.
Julie Simmonds of Nomura continues to believe that Cardio Q has significant technical merit, but does not expect the difficulties that Deltex has had in closing sales of the product to go away in the short term.
The analyst retains her 'sell' recommendation as she expects closure of orders to continue to be slow.

Too little too late, I'm afreiad - it's still a resounding sell. Price has slipped back again. I'm with Julie on this one.

Nice piece of positive news and the pessimist comes out in you stockdog! Sore tail? :~)
A day or two ago the great doubt was over how long it might take to close some of these deals. Of course one swallow does not make a spring, but I would say less of a "resounding sell" this morning than recently.

It depends on how long Julie's short term is doesn't it ? being a femail short-term it might only be a week or two ! (sorry, this sounds like discrimination)
be intertesting to see how long it is before she changes her mind and makes it a "buy" at these levels... :) come on Deltex -show 'em you mean business.. lets see some more good news !:)

Madison - too right, very sore! And as to one swallow - if it taste's like p**s then the experience lasts a long time. Kind of sticks in your throat, as you might say on this one :))
In my more rational moments, I still recognise the kind of share I like - great innovation in an existing essential market. It's still not only on my watch list, but in my portfolio at zero. I am ready willing and able to re-join when re-convinced.
Happy holding, those that were not shaken but stirred.

Well folks, posted on MDW board by moneyplus last week.
"Interesting article in today's Times about a medical development on trial in a London hospital measuring patients fluid levels after operations. Dramatic improvements in recovery times and saved the hospital over 1 million in overheads expected to save the NHS 1 billion a year if rolled out nationwide. This sounds very much like Mediwatch tech. anyone heard the same news--any announcements in the offing do you think??? fingers crossed"
Sounded more like DEMG to me.
I know DEMG are still under trials with many hospitals but with all political parties looking to improve the NHS maybe, just maybe they will now see the benefits of CardioQ in both reducing costs/patient recovery times and therefore waiting times. Hopefully they'll spend the extra money on something that will actually save money. Question is, are we near the bottom on DEMG now, having got out at 22pish I am tempted to get back in now at 14.25p, the story is still the same, just needs the orders to come to fruition and now is the new financial year.

Andysmith - Definitely sounds like Deltex
I'm looking for some good news and a strong indicator on the chart that we are moving up again before venturing in again - even if I lose the first few % rise.
