Financiers always win. :o)

I think VOG felt obliged (and may even have been due to AIM regs or something) to release today's RNS in order to be seen to be doing the right thing by their shareholders. Too much volatility could have been a bad thing, especially if they are negotiating the convertibles right now.

cynic - 07 Sep 2006 21:10 - 1206 of 2511

rayrac .... talk about prospects for sure, but do not confuse prospects with actuality .... no prospecting company drills holes for fun, but i bet the % of commercially productive strikes is little more than 20% if that

pisces - 08 Sep 2006 08:23 - 1207 of 2511

cynic hi,a few more days at these levels and rising volumes we may see 1.20 very soon, what do you think.

cynic - 08 Sep 2006 08:28 - 1208 of 2511

hard to say, but good to see the upward momentum intact this morning ...... my own view is that VOG will indeed come good, but that is (illogically) tempered by the hammering i took when the sp collapsed a couple of months back ...... sold out and then bought back in when they looked to be recovering .... total greed and stupidity! ... hey, ho; that's history

hlyeo98 - 08 Sep 2006 11:09 - 1209 of 2511

I was a fool to buy at 112p this morning...it is only up 1p at 101p now

Peter123 - 08 Sep 2006 11:43 - 1210 of 2511

Patience is needed. I bought in at 110p

pisces - 08 Sep 2006 15:28 - 1211 of 2511

don`t know what anyone else thinks but now the 2x200000 trades have been absorbed the price is rising again, could they have been holding it back?

cynic - 08 Sep 2006 16:53 - 1212 of 2511

good solid end to the week ..... some think 98 the resistance/support others 100 .... either way, sp finishing at 106 is good enough for me ..... just may top up

soul traders - 08 Sep 2006 18:50 - 1213 of 2511

You may top up, Cynic? What was that you said earlier about "total greed and stupidity"?

:o)

cynic - 08 Sep 2006 19:40 - 1214 of 2511

SOUL* .... i take it you think it rash? .... for myself, not sure .... in the long term, I think VOG could be a very good investment indeed ... in the short term, rationalisation or logic for buying would be to do with current impetus and trend, linkd to break through tough resistance ..... as i said, still very undecided

rayrac - 09 Sep 2006 13:55 - 1215 of 2511

I've held these through most of the ups and mainly downs! Can't see a reason to get out and don't somehow think I will. The price of oil keeps falling now, but gas in Europe looks to be a prime commodity for the foreseeable future.

I'm more worried about my shares in Hardman, but there again!!!

new boy - 09 Sep 2006 14:06 - 1216 of 2511

What ever you do dont sell, these are on the rebound, news awaiting sentiment changing, 200p by march or sooner defo.

Oil price falling, good news for economy and stocks in general.

cynic - 09 Sep 2006 17:29 - 1217 of 2511

i was not going to sell ... it was a Q of whether or not to buy more

WOODIE - 09 Sep 2006 20:29 - 1218 of 2511

cynic go with your own hunch providing there is no bad news coming out downside is limited as you have pointed out support level is now at the 95-100 level so there is around 8% downside as against ?% upside.dyor

cynic - 10 Sep 2006 10:09 - 1219 of 2511

not quite right ..... downside is 50/60p if VOG news with next drilling update is poor ...... technical immediate (chart) upside is also about 50p ...... see also this morning's comment on DOO

WOODIE - 10 Sep 2006 12:19 - 1220 of 2511

cynic i did say "providing there is no bad news coming out downside is limited" what you state comes under bad news so my statement is correct.

cynic - 11 Sep 2006 10:59 - 1221 of 2511

well having been positively indecisive over w/e, i took the plunge this morning and doubled up my pathetic little holding

soul traders - 11 Sep 2006 11:22 - 1222 of 2511

Morning Cynic.

My quote about greed, etc., was not intended to put you off; just poking fun.

I have a decent enough holding in this already, so will not be adding any more. I'm essentially happy with VOG's prospects, although I think I'd be less content if the next round of drilling goes badly.

bonfield - 11 Sep 2006 15:58 - 1223 of 2511

well I'm back on board now, as 1 was convincingly breached last week. I figure the brief dip below was the last chance to buy at sub 1 we're going to get. Have to see what the market does though as oil looks to be in a downtrend. Will the tax situation in Ukraine have any effect on VOG btw? I can't remember where they are based.....

hlyeo98 - 12 Sep 2006 17:38 - 1224 of 2511

What is happening with VOG? Down to 93p now
