Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

On the riots. The signs were there alright, they started when we prevented schools from disciplining pupils and therefore eroded respect that children have for any authority when they were just infants, it was perpetuated when we prevented parents from disciplining their children and reinforced the belief that children can coast through life with few consequences to their actions. It continued when we eroded the value of family and created social support networks that enable people to live comfortable lives without ever having to work, entirely supported on the state with no obligation to take any responsibility for their actions or their life. It gets worse every year as this underclass of undereducated, under disciplined irresponsible individuals continues to have more and more children born into a ghetto culture where underachievement is celebrated, criminality is glorified and parental responsibilities are ignored and abdicated to the state.
Even now some people are queuing up to blame those from outside of these communities for the crimes that are being committed within them, further absolving them of responsibility and giving credence to their vacant and tired claims of victimisation. These are feral children who've been let down by their parents and overindulged by cloying liberalism that confers endless rights with no sense of responsibility. The left seems to be tripping over itself in its desire to flagellate the law abiding citizen over this, its easy to blame the law abiding as then you don't have to deal with culprits, or admit that perhaps you've been wrong for decades on how to deal with these sort of social problems. If you blame everyone else then its easy to conclude that this is a problem that's too big to fix, instead of taking the pragmatic view of dealing swiftly and harshly with those that are guilty of committing these crimes and protecting the innocent law abiding tax payer from their vile, self-destructive behaviour.
So where is God in all of this - certainly not in the lives of those involved.

This_is_me - Agree 100%. There is good in plenty of people though as demonstrated in the cities involved today helping to clear up the mess, many of them are probably unemployed and come from poor backgrounds as well. The problem is as you say the 'ferals', animals of our society. Not sure as suggested removing social security benefits would solve any problems, in all probability make matters worse and crime would escalate even further. Birching in public, stocks etc isn't going to happen either. Some form of National Service has been scoffed at, would surely give them through discipline respect for themselves at least. David Cameron announcing the full force of the Law will be implemented means absolutely Jack Shit.

Hi Haystack,
I am already registered with the TPS and I still get such calls. In fact my telephone number is unpublished due to my previous job, and yet I still receive such calls with the caller often asking for me by name.
Only yesterday I tried to re register my tel number with TPS thinking that the system perhaps had a time period on it only to be informed that 'I was already registered'.
This to me proves as I read somewhere that telephone lists are sold to organizations.
The TPS service does as you probably know have a complaint system should you receive cold calls after registration, but you obviously need that companies details. As they are usually bases overseas they are untouchable. The TPS also states that these companies are committing an offense if thy withhold their number, which many do. So to my mind the TPS are completely toothless, a bit like the internet watchdog, whose only real use is to warn people about internet scams.
Both organisations try their best, but unless the scammers or/and cold calers are UK based, they can't do anything effective.

Sorry to change the subject from rioting but can anybody explain why are there so many different speed bumps, big ones, small ones, long ones with a small ramp at the start and a bigger drop the other side......I've come across ones that don't cover the whole road but are square ???...but don't do anything but could only slow down a speeding reliant robin....perhaps that's it.....some councils have got it in for them...."we'll get those speeding three wheelers no matter what".....they can't avoid them....bikers will go in between them....car drivers will align their wheels so they go either side....lorry drivers don't give a damn anyway..."speed bump...what speed bump"....but three wheelers...oh dear !....first wheel goes through the middle but the rear wheels....crash....direct hit....and in reverse it's not much better for them either.....that's what they're for.....how about a standardised blinkin' bump ?...

Rioters identified on CCTV face eviction say councils
Rioters in Manchester and Salford have been told that they face being evicted from their council homes if they are identified on CCTV footage.
Both city councils have issued warnings that if any of their tenants or their children have been involved in violence or looting they will be "thrown out".

I will believe that when I see it. No doubt these families mainly consisting of single parents who don't have or want a job, who are claiming benefit for several feral kids all by different absent fathers will be given accommodation in another council property, all at extra expense to cover the move and eviction.
It will be yet another merry go round.
The best move the government could make re families is to limit child benefit to a max of 2 children, this would stop those who breed like rabbits for the single reason that the state will support these families.
There are many families, and the facts show a high majority are immigrants who have double digit families. Why should the state support them.
fact have also shown that the bigger the family the more likely they are pro rata to grow up dysfunctional in every area.
Of course as we all know, civil/human rights will step in to protect these people.

One Irish guy that my mate knows was involved in the looting last night - he has over 200 Argos catalogues if you want one.
Ten Irishmen attempting to loot Argos in Dublin last night were later arrested at Collection Point B.

Yet another Wally of a high ranking Police Officer.
Just heard him say that many rioters who have appeared at court were seen leaving the court with their faces covered, because "They left ashamed of what they had done".
What world do these people live in. They covered their faces because they were embarrassed that they were caught and for no other reason.
They don't even understand what the word shame) means!

Too right.
Although often you only feel guilty if you know shame, they usually go together.
So without guilt you often don't get shame.
