Afternoon.

Gas shows - it would be unheard of it there were none!!!!!!! I'd tend to concur with Lostandfound's "worries" for now.

Proximity in next block - I've been on dusters in well-known fields, let alone 10km away. Not necessarily significant IMO.

DRILLING FLUIDS.......For those of you that are interested I have found a useful link that may help make more sense of the statement below.....

Commenting today, Managing Director William Kelleher said, "We continue to see gas shows and have had to increase the density of the drilling fluid in order to maintain stable wellbore conditions. This should not delay us in reaching
total depth by the end of this month.

DTHOMPSON its funny how that is identical to the post on A D V FN I put up. :)

cynic - 18 Sep 2006 16:17 - 1258 of 2511

sp misbehaving a bit today, but volume is less than half of norm, so guess it's just a few bored holders rather than any well-informed insiders

cynic - 20 Sep 2006 13:33 - 1259 of 2511

volume continues at a very low level, but would rather it was all buying other than (I would guess) quite a lot of small offerings rather tha anything significant or knowledge-borne ...... for what it's worth, current level of about 87p is smack on 50 mda and bottom of bollinger band is only very slightly below that; arguably this will provide support

skyhigh - 20 Sep 2006 14:01 - 1260 of 2511

Grim though isn't it ?

steveo - 20 Sep 2006 22:54 - 1261 of 2511

putins take on shell deposits probably not helping much at the moment, politics always gets in the way of good old oil profit

soul traders - 21 Sep 2006 08:29 - 1262 of 2511

Useful article on VOG on Oilbarrel.com this morning.

cynic - 21 Sep 2006 12:24 - 1263 of 2511

had forgotten about that site .... thanks soul* .... made good and useful reading as oilbarrel's articles usually do ...... the other article ther on Tullow was also informative

ST, thanks, read & digested and put things into perspective.

vog taking a battering at the moment, does anyone know why? good time for buying though. I have enough at the moment.

nervousness with the Russian stance with outsiders etc etc ..... volumes are still very muted though

cynic - 21 Sep 2006 17:00 - 1269 of 2511

an interesting late trade ..... approx 850k @ 90p = surely a buy, though i would hazard a guess at closing a major short position ..... if a true buy, then very encouraging ...... only this trade that took the volume above the 3 month average

cynic - 22 Sep 2006 21:13 - 1270 of 2511

I have learnt that there has been a large seller around which has forced sp down, but with luck, most of that stock has now been absorbed ..... fingers crossed for the coming week(s)

Big Al - 22 Sep 2006 21:23 - 1271 of 2511

cynic - closing a major short is oftenmore important than "a tue buy". They are all buys anyway and MMs generally always run a balanced book. Remember that - they are moving the price dependent on what their book looks like and nothing more.

cynic - 22 Sep 2006 21:56 - 1272 of 2511

i believe seller was a seller of held stock rather than a bear

cynic - 03 Oct 2006 12:37 - 1273 of 2511

below is as posted on FEP in response to Confidant ......

confess i got into VOG almost by accident insofar as i had never heard of them until i joined LSE (can no longer be bothered with it) ..... at that time, LSE had some very good correspondents, and though i was initially advised to buy at around 90p, i did not get in until a while later.

to cut a long story short, i made quite a lot of money out of the stock by trading "surplus" to my core ...... confess i stupidly bought back in when the price dropped to 200p instead of following my own advice ..... dumb ass ..... ultimately liquidated all but bought back at 73 ands 104.

overall VOG certainly has a cap of approx 3x FEP's which makes it much more liquid.... also, i would be very surprised if VOG do not come up trumps sooner rather than later and they also seem to have some good contacts and even HoA tending towards actual contracts ...... while it is true Kaz is bandit country, so for sure are the Philippines.

as far as i can see, FEP have indeed made a great discovery, but patently lack the wherewithal to extract it, and even once that is secured, the sory is that it could take 7 years to do so! ..... perhaps the stock is worth buying on t/o prospects, but that is always risky logic.

seawallwalker - 03 Oct 2006 14:28 - 1274 of 2511

Never buy on t/o prospects.
