Earthport: Ready to fly (EPO)

jdubb - 04 Mar 2004 17:44

Some good news at last from this weeks Shares mag. Tim Freeborn revisits the company and altho no firm details are given about new deals he says they will be announced this quarter. I would think that this could be at the same time as the interim results are announced. I for one will be holding on cos they will fly sooner rather than later! ( 8.30% up today!)

i am starting to feel that investing in epo is a bit too much of a gamble . yes there is a good upside but i am getting a little tired of promises of big deals and announcements and then nothing happens. shares like this need good solid news flow or else ..........people stop taking an interest. ssanebs , any news today?

Fred1new - 15 Apr 2004 11:21 - 127 of 706

Put yours shares away in a safe place and take them out again after the next results. Ie Patience is a virtue!!!!

Sometimes!

Fred1new is right

Agree with Bosely, the management are losing crdibility and fast. They put out rumours of deals that fail to materialise, the airline deal rumour has been going around for months. this share is all about deals, if they don't haapen then it is really a lame duck. The management are to blame and have to shoulder this, put pressure on them to deliver or it should be their jobs!

apple - 16 Apr 2004 08:27 - 130 of 706

Up 9% on opening hmmmmm something brewing perhaps.

jdubb - 16 Apr 2004 19:46 - 131 of 706

MM's playing silly games im afraid!!

Sharemess - 19 Apr 2004 10:08 - 132 of 706

ssanebs - your silence makes me think you have been told what is going on, but have been asked not to tell anyone. Otherwise you would be speculating with us on the continued lack of news you were expecting a couple of weeks ago.

Anything you can say to us ?

Poverty - 19 Apr 2004 16:48 - 133 of 706

You are all doomed!

bosley - 19 Apr 2004 17:10 - 134 of 706

nice post poverty, can you expand on that statement , please.

ssanebs - 20 Apr 2004 00:09 - 135 of 706

patience sharemess

Highride - 20 Apr 2004 10:29 - 136 of 706

You sound remarkably calm Ssanebs.
What do you know that we don't? As you have spoken/emailed the company, have they said something (that you can't repeat)to calm your nerves?
Seems to me they keep talking of imminent news releases and good news, but silence remains!!!!

ehall - 20 Apr 2004 19:19 - 137 of 706

Patience is a virute (better buy VTB then) but has the lady's pen completely dired up ssanebs, I'm not bothered, definitely for the long term and the news will on day come flooding in. Advice for the traders though, leave this on well alone, only get involved if your in for a while!

Highride - 21 Apr 2004 10:52 - 138 of 706

For a company that's said to have such upward potential and has some significant deals in the offing, it's rather worrying to see it's continual downward slide. As at 10:40am today, it was down by over 13%.
However, this seems to be the name of the game at the moment. Most of my companies have 'imminent' news of 'great significance', but still waiting. Could it be the present market state isn't receptive enough for good news, so the news is being delayed for when there will be a better response????
I don't know, I'm just speculating!
Any ideas anyone???

I think that you are confusing it with some other share.

The price has not changed so far today.

I'm in profit on EPO because the average of my various buys & sells has worked out ok mainly because I originally got in early before the tips.

Highride - 21 Apr 2004 11:17 - 140 of 706

Apple.

No confusion. 10:40am down 13.04% from start of business today. Right now it is still down 13.04%. Hopefully it'll rebound.

jdubb - 21 Apr 2004 11:40 - 141 of 706

H

Do you mean you are down 13.04% from when you bought the shares? Cos EPO is currently 2.88p and hasn't moved since Monday(down from 3.00p) Newsflow is the main share mover and if you've read this thread, you'll know that EPO is notoriously bad at announcing things on time!! As Ssanebs said patience is a virtue.

On MoneyAm

Bid 2.5p
Offer 3.25p

No change since 19th April

My Broker's best prices are

Bid 2.58p
Offer 2.88p

You are wrong

jdubb - 21 Apr 2004 11:53 - 143 of 706

IAN

Apple means the price most brokers are actually quoting is way off the one officially appearing on our quote screens, which is a normal occurance for those of us who trade this share regularly!

IanT(MoneyAM) - 21 Apr 2004 11:54 - 144 of 706

jdubb,

Just figured that out - I was a little too quick on that one :)

Thanks

Ian

Highride - 21 Apr 2004 16:38 - 145 of 706

I tend to quick check share performance on the Motley Fool site. The 13.04% was a drop today. It was showing the 'mid price' as 2.5 pence. 30 minutes or so ago it was showing today's drop as just 0.17% at 2.87 pence mid, so it's obviously recovered somewhat.
I'm just sharing with you what I've seen. If the MF site was incorrect, then apologies to all, but it's normally pretty good. I only use the site for the BB and portfolio monitoring as it has better information than my brokers site.

Hope this clears things up. Don't for one moment think I'm a ramper, I want EPO to do well, preferably soon.

Cheers,
Highride
