THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Hays,

Apologies, but I thought you aimed for higher standards of probity.

I always thought Blair was a tory mole, he has certainly live up to some of the seemingly required membership standards.

Haystack - 10 Oct 2011 21:55 - 12616 of 81564

I think after the last Labour government we have all got used to lower public standards.

Fred1new - 10 Oct 2011 23:13 - 12617 of 81564

Do you mean the MPs expenses' frauds?

It would seem some MPs have already excused themselves and Cameron seems to be condoning, or blinking, when the same standards are being reintroduced by members of his own government.

Favours on the "old boys" network, often stinks.

But I suppose it is another exhibition of one rule for one person and a different rule for another.

Seems the right to break the law when it is convenient for oneself, but outrage when another does likewise.

Will this government be more corrupt than the last.

I watch with interest.

Haystack - 11 Oct 2011 00:34 - 12618 of 81564

Funny how the majority of MPs in fraud cases was easily amongst the Labour gang.

Rivers of ice: Vanishing glaciers

Stunning images from high in the Himalayas - showing the extent by which many glaciers have shrunk in the past 80 years or so - have gone on display at the Royal Geographical Society in central London.

Hays,

Check the amounts of "expenses" all parties got away with.

When will Osborne go?

Interesting to watch how Dave deals with the dilemma he is in.

Does he want his "friends" in front of him, or behind him.

===========

But he will support him as long as he needs him.

If you would like to see some fantastic time lapse videos, have a look at:

NB. Sound on. Full Screen. Max Resolution.

I do hope you don't decide to throw your own camera away after watching this stuff!

Haystack - 11 Oct 2011 13:56 - 12623 of 81564

Cameron is not supporting Fox because he is a friend. He is supporting him at the moment because Fox is tied in with the right wing of the party and he is the token right wing person on the front bench. In a similar way Prescott got his position because Blair accepted him as a token to the left wing.

I hope they don't catch it , but study it from afar and film it , then when they get a chance to obtain a dead body to dissect it.

skinny - 11 Oct 2011 14:19 - 12625 of 81564

aldwickk - I agree - IF they are ever found. As the article alludes, this is probably more to do with attracting tourists.

aldwickk - 11 Oct 2011 14:25 - 12626 of 81564

There only seem's to be one newspaper The Daily Express that as run a front page story twice in a matter of a few week's , saying we will have Arctic weather, 20 - temperature's in a matter of weeks.

Fred1new - 11 Oct 2011 14:27 - 12627 of 81564

Hays,

Foxy is a friend of Dave's?

Interesting, is, or perhaps was, Werrity a mutual friend?

Has the Fox resigned yet or is the hunt just starting.

Another Cameron U-turn is on the cards!

Can you get a bet on the Fox.

I thought the coalition were going to save the UK economy, rather than hide behind Europe.

aldwickk - 11 Oct 2011 17:54 - 12634 of 81564

We are not hiding behind Europe we are keeping a safe distance.
