Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

rf, no, but I like to point out the incorrect posts by jealous non-holders who have their cash stuck in other oilers where the SP is going nowhere, and who are so wound up they missed RKH that they have to relieve themselves posting nonsense on here about being overpriced at 90p and then saying overpriced at 120p and then saying overpriced at 180p and then saying overpriced at 220p and now saying overvalued at near 270p........
:) LOL

Look, if the price goes up it goes up...good...but sp's also go down.....and this is quite high....when the flow tests with several intervals each flowing 10000 barrels comes in....then a 350sp or even more would be right....perhaps on tuesday, who knows ?...but I gather we are not getting a full test....I'm in but I will have to take profits sooner or later as this sp can go anywhere very quickly...

You see, EVO (who have a proper oil analyst department) said a flow tested Sea Lion would be worth around 600p to 700p if its 170M barrels in size.
Now they are doing side wall coring, which means really a flow test is not needed as an essential really to declare commercial or not.
The key thing is, there is loads of upside to come even if the find is "only" 170M barrels.
Should the estimates be larger.......well........ the price will be much much higher again.
Keep on trying to talk it down....... at least it keeps the thread busy :)

Proselenes/Required Field,
I agree re those who said 'sell at 90p as it's too high should keep stum now regarding buy/sell.
As to the 'current' valuation, I think it is somewhere between both your views. Yes as you say (Proseleness) if the final drill results are as expected, coupled with their further prospects, 600p per share is probably on the very low side, but as you say (RF) nothing is 100% certain.
I am very positive re the next RNS, but things can still go wrong.
RF....As to cost of infrastructure, remember RKH are a drill/discovery company, not a producer. If they need more cash, I am sure they will easily obtain it, especially when the Major producers come sniffing around.
Regards Greek.

Go with the flow rf. Trade some, hold some maybe?
DES also moved up 3% for no particular reason, but not complaining! ;o)

bullshit! that's pure rationalisation ..... it's greed and hope pushing sp at the moment, though there is more logic to support than the usual nonsense surge when spudding starts

Not exactly.....but I did very well on the the first sale.....still looking at the bike options list...a bell or a mirror....hesitating.....between the two..wanted to buy back my original holding after having sold but it rocketed to 145p and then to 200p and by then could not except inside my sipp and spreads....and doing well on that...so...soon time to swithchover to FOGL ?....a long two or three months wait until RKH's next spud....I can't help feel that DES have not done very well on planning the rig slots !.

i'm now very comfortable with my holding here, as in honesty, i expect a lot of profit-taking late in the day ..... if it happens, shall i allow myself to buy back in (top up)? maybe ..... if sp surges, then that's very fine by me too, but i think that unlikely

bullseye! .... at the moment no one has any idea at all what rkh may have found, though there are realistic expectations of >170mb ..... however, they still have to get it on stream (rf - i think the cost of that is actually irrelevant), and that will take at least a further 3 years .... on the other hand, black bush in the hand (so to speak!) is far preferable to just being onto an unfulfilled promise

Currently the signs are very good for RKH/DES and fingers crossed that the 'signs' will be proved up into mmbb's on their books.
