Bailiffs are expected to try to enter the Dale Farm travellers' site later if the 40ft high scaffolding tower at the entrance can be dismantled and removed.

I thought this was a stunning picture and which is on the front of today's Telegraph.



I couldn't find a copy of the actual picture in the paper, which is taller and brighter, so this will have to do, but I'm sure you get the idea (ie, "All hope is lost. We are about to lose our homes. Please save us Jesus in this our hour of need, etc, etc.".

As images go, it's very 'Hollywood" and I'm sure it will touch the hearts and minds of religious people all over the globe.

Now back to the reality of the picture

The woman in the picture is not even one of the travellers who had vowed to fight to the death for their homes. She is actually an agitprop activist who hurries to join anarchist groups wherever they are gathered.

Miss Challis - or Miss Donna Berry, as her real name is believed to be - has previously joined protests against globalisation, gang culture, child abuse, and the plight of Palestinians in Gaza (to which she likened the Dale Farm eviction).

I wonder if she learned how best to pose when she did GCSE Art? Hmmm? Most probably.

Anyhow, it's a stunning picture and she's got herself plastered on the front page of the Daily Telegraph. 10/10 for that.

Libyan forces 'capture Gaddafi'


Commanders for Libya's transitional authorities say they have captured former Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi.

The news came after transitional forces claimed control of Sirte, Col Gaddafi's birthplace. There was no independent confirmation of his capture.

I saw the video of the woman posing for the photo. She turned this way and that and was quite aware of how good a photo it was.

Dale Farm is well off the press agenda with the capture and possible death of Gadaffi.

Pictures now being shown on some TV channels of Gadaffi dead.

No doubt the Liberal lefties will be clamoring to condemn the 'Cold blooded killing of a human being' (sic).

If the manner of his death is true, it's great news.
Who can blame anyone for ignoring the plea for mercy of this despot leader.
I wonder how many of his own people begged for mercy before being tortured to death.

Just think, what would have happened if he had been taken alive, a trial lasting months and costing millions.
If I had had the chance, I would have gladly pulled the trigger.

Although the authorities will be stating that they wish he had been bought to justice to answer his crimes, in truth they will be both glad and relieved that he died the way he did.

No doubt a few other world leaders will feel a bit more uncomfortable tonight.

Exec, I'm religious and that photo offends me. Doubt that too many Christians will be impressed.

The Dale farm gang have used the law when it suited them and ignored it when it didn't suit them.

I am not religious and I am not bothered how Gadaffi died. They can parade his body through the streets dragged behind a car as far as I am concerned. No punishment is too great for him. When you die that's it and nothing more. The only thing that matters is that hopefully Gadaffi might have suffered before he died.

Let's hope the woman with the cross does offends a few christians. In the past we all had a lot more to worry about. Many families lost children in infancy and mothers died as well. My own father lost both his siblings leaving him an only child. His mother died giving birth the the last one. That was only in 1926 when he was 10. Now we are supposed to care if people get offended. Being offended is not exactly the worst thing that can happen to you. In the scheme of things it is pretty insignificant and not worthy of note.

If people believe in religion and other such fairy stories then they should get offended. It should be the duty of non believers to offend them. Religion causes so much trouble and misery in the world. It shouldn't be banned, but held up to ridicule. As for the government giving special status to religiious schools in the way of charitable status and grants, that it even worse as it perpetuates the whole nonsense.

And that attitude is pretty much how wars start.

No. It is the attitude that religion is important that start wars. If people thought religion was just silly then we could all just ignore it.

If you poke fun at the Islamic religion in a major way then you may well end up dead. However, it must not be forgotten that was also the case regarding the christian religion in days past.

If we all ignored religion, did not allow special status for religion in schools, churches etc then its influence should diminish. I am happy for people to practice religion in private, but I would prefer if it was treated as a personal habit with no official status.

I can do without various archbisops giving advice. If the leader of a group of people who believed the earth was flat made pronouncements about life we would find it amusing. In fact we would be surprised if anyone took the advice seriously.

Whilst I tend to agree with some of your sentiment, we are where we are with religion and it isn't going to change anytime soon; so on the whole, probably better to have a bit of tolerance.

It is the attitude that religion is important that start wars.
